New ownership and they are taking off! They've done a great job of updating the place without taking away its charm! Huge patio with giant tv, plenty of things on tap and full spirits selection and even options for people who are dry or dry-ish! I got the No Woman No Cry cocktail on tap with the Elevate citrus and it's awesome!

The Raven Tower's tower is under construction so there's really not much to do here. There's a bar and patio downstairs but it's too far out of the way to be full/Poppin. Call ahead and see if the tower is open otherwise don't bother, not much to do here.

Haven't been to Raven Tower in so long! But it's a cool place to chill and they have a fire escape now so you can access the top of the tower. It wasn't busy when we went on a Sunday afternoon. Tons of tables on the outdoor patio for pets and social distancing

Went with a small group of friends yesterday. Had been hearing about this place for a couple weeks now. Definitely was a very unique and different vibe for Houston night-life. It has a lot of potential to be something more with some minor adjustments to their bar service and music upstairs to match the vibe on the ground floor. They had a great DJ for Friday night and the rooftop views definitely are probably the best for the bar scene. Very chill and relaxed!

Very nice and chill bar. They have ping pong inside and a cool swing set and taco food truck outside. I love coming here after a show at White Oak Music Hall.

This place is awesome! Ample parking across the steeet, clean, ecofriendly, pet friendly, and people friendly! There's a space for live concerts and a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy great company. The drinks are great! And food truck in the parking lot not only meets your need for grub, it happens to also taste great!

Went there last night for their soft opening. We took our time getting there and that was a mistake! For a Tuesday night it was crazy packed! But the views were worth the wait. I am a native Houstonian and have passed by this Place off 45 for decades wondering what it was, why it was there, well let me give you some history. This actually was a bachelor pad built by a guy who owned and worked at a business near by. It was built in the 60's and has been abandoned for decades until the Pegstar group turned it in it a bar. Some of the best night views of Houston are here. Just amazing. There is a small bar in the very top of the tower, on the glass enclosed level there is sound proof Windows, retro seating and small bathrooms. No frills just very retro. It's about a 4 story climb and the elevator does not work yet. We were told it is structurally sound, but they were only allowed 50 people up there at a time. There was a line to get up but we only waited 15 minutes. So worth it. On the ground level there is a very nice cool bar between the tower and White Oak Bayou. Many TVs and plenty of beer on tap on in a bottle. Beer was not cheap $6.00 a bottle for a Bud light. Did see liquor but No wine. There were a few food trucks there and I think it will rotate what trucks be there at any time. There is limited parking we parked blocks away. It's not the best neighborhood, think Heights back in the 80s. With this addition it's going to be an up and coming neighborhood. My advise is Uber over there to avoid the parking and traffic. Over all great experience go for the views on a clear day and enjoy our beautiful city!

Don't know how this place has anything less than 5 stars. In my opinion, this is one of the coolest spots in Houston and making the city truly unique. Apparently this was an old car lot and the owner built the tower so he could keep an eye on everything. Soon to be next door neighbors with White Oak Music Hall and you'll be able to hear the lawn concerts over there from Raven's patio and rooftop. Make sure to climb up the many flights of stairs to the retro bar/lounge with wrap around windows and killer views, then climb up even further to the rooftop! The roof is sort of scary and feels un-level, but I've been assured it's safe... This bar is unlike anywhere and I can't wait to come back and check out some music. P.S. There's also a ridiculously amazing taco food truck parked near the entrance. Pork tacos w/ grilled pineapple & onions were life changing.

Ambiance (3/5): Dan Electros is located in a residential neighborhood. They have a relatively small parking lot and it was completely full on a Wednesday. We ended up parking on the street a block or two away. Initially, I wasn't too impressed. Dan Electros has a gravel parking lot. Never a fan. It gets your car dirty and your shoes dirty. When you walk in though, you're entering a dive bar with some character. It's tough to describe what that is exactly but it's something you feel. Dan Electros hosts a lot of live music and they have a small dance floor. If you're into live music, as I am, this may be the spot for you. They also have a pool table which is always a plus in my book. Service (4/5): I ordered a drink at the bar. I was greeted promptly and received my drink promptly. When I later went back to the bar to close out, I was able to do so without much effort. Solid experience overall. Food (N/A): I didn't have any food as I had dinner prior, but I don't think they have food anyway. I'm not 100% though. Drinks (4/5): For a dive bar, Dan Electros has a cool menu with some interesting cocktails and a good beer list. Even at a dive bar, it's nice when you can order more than just beers and simple cocktails. With that said, I had a beer. When in Rome.

The itch was finally scratched last night when I went to watch my friend Ken and his band, Zenjii, perform there to celebrate the release of their latest single, "Ashes" (check it out on the platform where you stream your favorite music!). It's safe to say that WOMH met my expectations. It surprised me that it sits just right next to the North Freeway. When a person approaches it at first, it appears quite small, but I assure you it's anything but. Zenjii's show was in the upstairs performance room on WOMH's second floor. Beforehand, Ken and I went out to the outdoor area the place is very well known for. I joked with him how given the excessive heat, I was glad they were performing inside. But I'm certain on a day when the weather is Goldilocks, or just right, The Lawn -- as it's officially called -- is ideal for a concert. Behind the stage was the actual namesake, White Oak Bayou. To get a better view of the Houston skyline that's prominently featured in lots of pictures from WOMH, a visitor has to ascend to the second floor balcony. Because there was barely a cloud in the sky, I was able to see what I believe is the most beautiful collection of skyscrapers in the world from that vantage point. It is definitely worth a look at night too. The room definitely accommodated Zenjii and the acts that went on before it. Not only was the room big enough to handle the crowd size, but the acoustics and lighting were excellent. The bar inside was exceptionally staffed by a woman whose name I stupidly forgot to get. Though she gave me complimentary water and Diet Coke, I still left her a tip for her troubles. You're probably wondering why the review has four stars. Well, even though the heat index outside was undoubtedly beyond 100 Fahrenheit, I could've sworn the venue had the AC on at a little below 60. It was so cold in the room that I left with a slight runny nose. That, however, doesn't take away from how impressed I am with WOMH.

I arrived at 7, was sweating by 7:02, and by 8 had achieved a state of moisture normally reserved for produce misters. The breeze arrived once. Everyone cheered. It did not return. Sound-wise: I could confirm that music was happening. Beyond that I'd need a lawyer. From where I stood it was mostly bass and rumor. The guy next to me insisted they played my favorite song. I'll take his word for it. Beer was $16 and served in a cup engineered to become warm faster than physically possible. The line for it moved with the urgency of a DMV that had recently been informed of layoffs. I made a friend in that line. We've since lost touch, but we shared something. Parking exists in the same sense that Bigfoot does -- people claim to have found it, no photos survive. I parked in what I believe was another zip code and did a small pilgrimage back. Two stars for the vibes, minus one for the vibes, minus another for the field. One star.
