Outside of the Jerry Rawls course , this is probably one of the better Lubbock area courses that…read moreyou can play without having to be a member or be a guest with a memeber - aka- Country Club. Prices are fair and the Grill has a great seating outside and a spacious area inside as well , with the food being ready within minutes. The course is tough from the get go , with a med-lenght par 5 and the scenery makes it feel like you're being watched by many---but it's ok , just that it's ; Shadow Hills is also a housing community past Loop 289 and 4th Street. The parking area , is huge and could easily hold a tournamet for around 150 vehicles and is usually clean. The cart barn accomodates around 60 carts for players and actually squeezes in around 10-15 more just because they're always that busy. The members of the course are actually pretty friendly and don't mind letting you play though. I've played this course about 5 times and loved it soo much. Prices are fair and the Pro Shop isn't too bad , as they've always got everything from Clubs to Clothing and everything in between stocked and ready for sale , most are evenly priced as compared to other golf stores. This course is actually wide open , but still fairly tight , meaning you could hit your ball into the rough for most hole , except maybe the last 3-4 , and still find it. Wind will play a major factor as it can make the course play a little tougher. One hole can be 340 yards , and play 280 with a little side wind , or it can be 410 and play more like 450 , and really challenge the player. Most people preffer another course on the East Side of Lubbock , but i would play this one 9 times out of 10. Putting green is always in great shape (quick too) and the driving range isn't too bad if you're looking at just getting warmed up. Plenty of room for around 25 golfers with bags and/or company.

I can't put my finger on what they are trying to do at this place but it's definitely not wanting…read morepeople to golf there. I called today to see if I could get on as a single. The person who answered, (I think is was Mr Moreno) said that that don't make times for singles and I'd need to wait for a 2some or 3some to join. Ok fine, I decided I would go by and see if I could get on. I arrived and asked if I could get on as a single and again was told I'd need to wait for a group to join. I looked out their windows and politely pointed out that no one was there. I was told it was "owners rules" to not let singles play. Ok and while that's a bit silly if you ask me, I didn't see one person on the first tee, outside in carts, or inside the pro shop. Look at the empty parking lot picture. Absolutely insane to not want to take someone's money. Anyway, don't bother coming here. They over book anyway and hole 5 regularly has up to 15 people waiting at the tee box.

This has always been a fun local spot to hit balls with friends, but after our experience tonight I…read morewon't be coming back. While our group was taking a short break between rounds and waiting for food and drinks, an older man aggressively approached us asking if we were using the bay we were sitting in front of. I politely explained that we were, and that the rest of our group would be right back. Instead of handling it professionally, he immediately became rude and confrontational, lecturing us about how "plenty of people would love to fill the bay" and calling us selfish for sitting there. We calmly offered to share the bay, trying to de-escalate the situation, and that's when he responded, "You're damn right I can use it , I own this place." Then his daughter chimed in trying to justify his behavior, acting equally sassy and entitled while talking down to me but trying to appear friendly asking me, "Do you see how that came off?" Honestly, no absolutely not because we were being polite and respectful the entire time until we finally felt the need to stand up for ourselves after being talked down to for no reason. The entire interaction was unnecessary, hostile, and embarrassing. Multiple people nearby were visibly shocked by how aggressive and disrespectful he was toward paying customers. We are grown adults spending money at your establishment, not children needing to be disciplined. If the owner wanted private space reserved for a graduation celebration, then reserve the bays ahead of time instead of berating customers he is the owner isn't he? There was absolutely no reason to approach us the way he did. Customer service and basic respect matter. I won't spend another dollar here, and I definitely won't support a business owner who treats people that way. I just wish I hadn't already spent almost $200 there before he ever approached us on food, drinks and balls for our group of 6.

Everything is great if you like golf- outside fun or inside, cold drinks- chill atmosphere. Bar…read morefood & puzza. Great hangout.
