It's a clear gel and it holds my short hair down without it being, stiff, flaky or overly shiney. The Edge is control is unreal. My grandaughter has very coarse hair. When I put that on her edges the results are unreal. This stuff does not flake, shine like it's glued down and look sticky and tacky or turns white. It honestly allows the hair to lay in place so beautifully. It gives me the ability to be creative with her edges. UNREAL Can't Weight - I don't know what's in this stuff but I tell you, it's time to re-order. It's the mildest form of a holding spray that I've every tried.
