I got the crispy chicken sandwich and it was surprisingly not bad. Chicken wasn't too dry at all and the chicken was crispy. I felt like it did need more sauce though. The burger was so big I had to take half of it home. The fries tasted like McDonald's which I didn't mind at all. Crispy fresh and hot Ambiance is your usually cactus casual formal atmosphere. Servers were nice and fast. Good for business lunches

Had to sit around the bar but that was fine. Servers were polite, attentive and friendly. The bowl was amazing. Very fresh. Lots of flavours. Totally was what I needed.

Just got into town, checked into the Fairmont, and looking for a place to eat. The Cactus Club was just a couple blocks away. The menu selection and prices looks good. It's located right next to the convention center, with a view of the Calgary Olympic Torch Sculpture/Monument. There was a short wait, while they got our table ready. The restaurant is very large, with lots of seating in various places. You could eat inside, or in a couple of different patio areas. It was a little cool outside, so we got a table for 4. Got greeted right away, with waters, and menus. The drink menu has a large and varied selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks. I got a Hugo Spritz, which was very refreshing (cucumber and fresh mint). The food menu was also large and covered lots of ground. Lots to like for a group with different palettes. I ordered the Szechuan Beans and the Tuna Poke Bowl. Other got the Hot Chicken, Rigatoni Bolognese, and the Truffle Chicken. It came out in a reasonable time, were the right temps, good flavor, and decent portions. Everyone was a happy camper. The service was good, but there were times when we needed help and no one was available. But not a deal breaker. The place holds a lot of people, and it was loud at times. We would definitely come back again.

--This is a 3.5 review-- Good place to hang out after work or for happy hours. There is something for everyone in the menu. From sushi to steaks they have everything for everyone. Wait staff are friendly, bar tenders are warm and inviting. I ordered appetizer and entree, fried calamari came out with minimum amount of calamari, but cooked well and tasted fresh. Their Truffle Parmesan Chicken was good size portion and tasted good. The combination of the ingredients works together nicely. Mixed drink, Cadillac Margarita precisely, was weak and watered down. Not tasty enough in my opinion. Dining room was clean and noise level was high. This establishment is accessible.

Always a favorite to stop by at when visiting Canada especially this location! It's water front and has beautiful views and it's always so lively. The drinks are my favorite the peach Bellini is always a must. All of the food we ordered was so fresh and delicious. The chicken lettuce wraps are always a must and all of the sushi we ordered was so fresh and good. The service was great and everyone was friendly.

We had a very nice lunch here and enjoyed their cocktails a lot. The pina colada slushie was thick and delicious! My kale salad with salmon was very refreshing and light. I loved the toasted chickpeas and grilled avocado. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well. They have large portions.

I was greeted right away upon entering and was seated immediately. I was by myself, so I sat at the bar as I didn't need a booth. The restaurant was busy, but it wasn't too loud. My server was attentive throughout my stay! I do wish the portion size was a bit bigger in terms of what they offered for veggies as the asparagus seemed as though it was an afterthought rather than a part of the dish. Good experience for this location nonetheless.

Cactus Club club is a chain restaurant that originated in Vancouver, though they now have 31 locations across Canada. I visited this location for a late night dinner. It was happening on a weekday evening! Moody lighting, tall ceilings, modern decor. I sat at the bar and got an espresso martini ("Midnight Hour" - $15.25) and a tofu bowl ($24.25). Prices are high as typical for Vancouver, but portion sizes were generous. They both tasted delicious. Staff was busy, so they were not the most attentive, but then again as a solo diner I was not the highest paying party. I'm not sure I'd be back now that I checked this off my tourist to-do list, but it seems like a fun place for a date night or girls night out.

Food is solid as per cactus standards. Service was really mediocre unfortunately. Our party came in after the BMO marathon, we were there pretty early, only 1 to 2 tables seated at the time. I'm always amazed at how slow the staff are at seating guests. There at least a crowd of 20, multiple groups, hanging at the host station not being seated. Once we got our table our server was attentive, active to get our order, we did feel a tad rushed to order but makes sense as 'attentiveness'. By the end of our meal we were legit rushed out, and the remaining few felt the same, I had literally finished my meal and within 3-5minutes my server wanted my plate back, and the restaurant wasn't even close to full. We all felt a bit awkward and cleaned up the tabs to leave. Not the greatest experience especially at the financial district location, huge turndown. Nonetheless, food still meets expectations (thank goodness).

Came here for Happy hour (2-5p every day, sun-thurs after 9p, fri-sat after 10p). Arrived 10 mins to 5p but they were still so gracious to seat us at a booth and get our order in before 5p! The drinks came so quickly as did the food. I loved my Bellini slushie; didn't taste any alcohol but definitely felt it. The chicken in the tacos were juicy and very flavorful. The salmon aburi roll was very good; crispy salmon on top and soft creamy filling inside. The fries were fries. The food was so good, I don't think we could have went wrong with any of the options. The vibe was great. Flat screens everywhere for the crowd to watch the ongoing hockey game no matter one sat. Lots of cheering going on. Great place to unwind and have a good time.

The squash and prawn ravioli was out of this world! My only complaint is there's no Cactus Club Cafe close by in the states!!

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes past our reservation time, sitting in a crowded entrance area with many other people also waiting for tables. It left a pretty disappointing first impression, especially when the table had already been booked in advance. The service also felt rushed toward the end. The receipt was brought to us immediately after we finished eating without us asking for it, which gave the impression they wanted to turn the table over as quickly as possible. That said, the lobster poutine was actually very good. The chocolate bonbons, however, were honestly disappointing. Three very small, dry chocolate candies for $15 felt excessive and not worth ordering.
