Sooo delicious! Butternut squash ravioli with prawns is a must get. It is pretty heavy so would recommend getting it to share. Ravioli has a great slight chew texture, not mushy despite being a butternut squash puree inside, and HUGE juicy prawns on top. Green goddess salad was a nice balance to compliment the ravioli, super fresh ingredients and great ratio with good amount of avocado. The Bellini slush was basically like a peach ring but not sickingly sweet like peach rings and more refreshing like actual fruit. Can't really taste the alcohol in it but could feel it. The calamari was okay, it could be crispier and have more squid/less dough but the flavor with the slight kick and Sichuan flavor is nice. Just not my preference of texture. The wagyu beef carpaccio was fun to eat and assemble but I would say you're paying more for the experience of assembling the perfect little bite because once you put together everything the beef flavor is sort of masked but I do enjoy the slight tang from the greens and pickled veges in contrast to the buttered bread. The cactus burger was a pretty solid big burger with well seasoned mushrooms, not too salty or greasy. Enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the light fry on them. We also sat outside which has heaters so I definitely recommend as it was less noisy and chaotic compared to inside during dinner time. All the employees are very nice too. The restaurant kindly gave us their truffle brioche bread. It was so good and the truffle butter had a good amount of flavor. The rigatoni was filling, but I do wish it had a bit more sauce. I enjoyed the garlic bread that came with the dish. It wasn't too crusty. The customer service was great. One thing that I didn't like was our seating. Always spot on every time I order it. Not pictured was the salmon aburi which I returned after 3 bites as the outer edges of the rolls that I had were torched as part of the process of torching the salmon. Beautiful presentation but did not like it. Bartender Jonah had it removed from my bill after talking to the Manager. NA local beer of Noony IPA pictured in the can was quite tasty and one of the better NA IPAs that I've tried. The restaurant is very large, with lots of seating in various places. You could eat inside, or in a couple of different patio areas. It was a little cool outside, so we got a table for 4. Got greeted right away, with waters, and menus. The drink menu has a large and varied selection of cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks. I got a Hugo Spritz, which was very refreshing (cucumber and fresh mint). The food menu was also large and covered lots of ground. Lots to like for a group with different palettes. I ordered the Szechuan Beans and the Tuna Poke Bowl. Other got the Hot Chicken, Rigatoni Bolognese, and the Truffle Chicken. It came out in a reasonable time, were the right temps, good flavor, and decent portions. Everyone was a happy camper. This was a restaurant that was recommended by the front desk when we checked in the Hyatt Regency. We had never heard of this restaurant, but after spending 5 nights there, we realized that they had quite a few locations around the BC area. What can I say about the cactus club? It's a decent place with decent food but unfortunately it falls into that category"chain" category and doesn't have much of a unique factor going for it. However, this location does have a vibe in and of itself. It's quite busy most nights and sometimes resembles a chic bar. They may try to serve you fast but you'll be waiting to get in and waiting for you food on a typical weekend just because of how packed they are. I'd recommend sticking to a salad and maybe a nice piece of salmon if you're in the mood. Stick to basics or just go for drinks and company in this bustling city location. read more

It was happening on a weekday evening! Moody lighting, tall ceilings, modern decor. I sat at the bar and got an espresso martini ("Midnight Hour" - $15.25) and a tofu bowl ($24.25). Prices are high as typical for Vancouver, but portion sizes were generous. They both tasted delicious. Staff was busy, so they were not the most attentive, but then again as a solo diner I was not the highest paying party. I'm not sure I'd be back now that I checked this off my tourist to-do list, but it seems like a fun place for a date night or girls night out. read more

Once we got our table our server was attentive, active to get our order, we did feel a tad rushed to order but makes sense as 'attentiveness'. By the end of our meal we were legit rushed out, and the remaining few felt the same, I had literally finished my meal and within 3-5minutes my server wanted my plate back, and the restaurant wasn't even close to full. I like that the Cactus Club has Happy Hour food and beverage options but they are not much cheaper than their regular menu items. We ordered several sharable plates. I enjoyed the presentation of the dishes but found most of the food quite bland and tasteless. The sushi had too much rice and not enough prawn...the chicken sliders were all bun with very little chicken. Not really great value for any of the dishes. I like that they have a hazy IPA on draught and that it was part of their Happy Hour. And the service was great, which upped this review to 4 stars. It was a positive experience. read more
