What a great place to have a dinner for a special occasion. It was such a cool building too. We were seated right by the front door with a nice big window to look outside. The building also had an upstairs seating area. The food was absolutely amazing! We left there sooooo full, it was almost uncomfortable. lol!!! The calamari was outstanding, the blackened grouper and the blackened scallops were amazing as well. Everything was cooked just right. Our server was on top of our drinks and kept checking in with us to see if we needed anything at all. Overall, a very great experience....my ONLY complaint was that it was very pricey, but I knew that it would be. I believe my scallops, spinach and fries was about $44. But if you have a special occasion coming up and don't mind spending the money, this is a great option. The building, the service and the food are all exceptional. read more

This used to be one of our favorite places to dine, but if last nights experience was the new norm, it might not stay open for long. We took new neighbors for dinner and even made reservations so you can see how disappointed we were when we walked into complete silence (no background music, no ambiance whatsoever and no air conditioning! The servers were literally sweating and the place was barely occupied. The hostess attempted to take us to a table upstairs which was even hotter. We tried to make the best of it but when we ordered cocktails we were informed that they only had one brand of gin on hand - where were the speciality brands we are used to? We ended up leaving to dine elsewhere. We sincerely hope that they can work out whatever is going on to get back to the stellar place we are used to patronizing. read more

Located downtown, it can be a little difficult to find parking depending on what time you head to the restaurant. The servers were extremely friendly and I was able to sit down (by myself) without a wait. Definitely enough room for larger groups to dine in at. I was recommended a sparkling wine and cider drink (can't remember what they called it) and it was delicious! Very light and refreshing, just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered half a dozen oysters and some shrimp and grits. The oysters were good, a little on the big side but no issues there. The shrimp and grits were just okay, not too memorable. It was a little lacking in flavor and I was a fan of the breading on the shrimp. Not my favorite but others might love it so I would still recommend ordering it! For dessert I had their salted caramel cheesecake - loved it!!! 10/10! read more

I had the Fried Catfish. It was perfectly cooked. The batter could have had a little more pop but that's the difference between excellent and perfect. The steak fries could have stayed in a touch longer. The cheese grits were on point. The service was as good as any I've ever had. The atmosphere was great. The music was a touch loud. Wonderful atmosphere from the beginning, this being a restaurant in an old bank. They even have seating I the vault for private dinning. Well things have started out very well, rolls delivered to the table nice an hot with a sun-dried tomato basil butter to die for. Out of this world. Next is the appetizer, nachos with pepper jack cheese with shrimp and lobster cream sauce. We can hardly wait for the main course if this is beginning. My wife ordered the filet with garlic mashed and grilled asparagus. I did the ribeye with steak fries and Mac n cheese. Filet was cooked to perfection and was very tender and easy to cut, asparagus was cooked just as my wife liked, did not seem like much garlic in the mashed potatoes. My rib eye was a perfect medium as I like, wish I had know the mac n cheese was swimming in cheese might have selected another option. Just a little too much cheese for me but it was wonderful. Our server Molly was wonderful and professional all the time, left us to enjoy our meal and not hovering over us. One of the nicest restaurants in town. The service was excellent, we felt very well taken care of. We went with a group of 7 and got to sample a number of different dishes. The oysters Rockefeller was spot on and my in-laws raved about the wedge salad. Both the fish and steak we ordered were perfectly cooked and all of the sides were amazing. The grits and mac and cheese were particularly good. We finished off with dessert and had a hard time deciding which was the most delicious. The restaurant is in an old bank with crown molding, a stamped metal ceiling and even an old school vault you can dine in. They do not have a kids menu but were happy to make a kids size cheeseburger for my daughter. We will definitely be going back next time we are in town. read more

We have been several times this year and the food and service are always excellent. Best of all is eating in the vault!

New to us. We stopped in without reservations. They were able to seat us upstairs. Staff friendly. Unique old building (was a bank). Menu has changed a lot from what we found online and many items are no longer served. That said, it was a average/good dinner but we expected more. Bread and pimento cheese dip appetizer were excellent. I had the seafood combo with dynamite shrimp, baked potato and substituted the catfish for fried grouper. Shrimp was not edible. The dynamite sauce was so overwhelming it would make me cough and you couldn't taste anything else. I believe if you got the sauce on the side it would of been better. I believe they normally make the grouper blackened so asking for fried might have thrown them off. The chef over breaded the grouper and had to peel much of it away but after that it tasted good. Baked potato was excellent. Father in law had the seafood combo with fried shrimp and catfish and said it was great. Wife had the stuffed chicken with squash casserole and baked potato. She loved the chicken and baked potato. Squash casserole had great flavor but was room temperature at best and got cold quickly. Overall the atmosphere and food was good but add in the hefty price and it looses points for what we received. I would consider trying again to see if it's better or the same. read more

The service was ridiculous. We had a reservation for 8:00 PM that was made months prior, while waiting for our table the establishment was unbearably hot. Even though we had a reservation, the wait ended up being 40 minutes after our table was given to another walk in party in front of us. When we were finally sat, the room was like a sauna, the table was wet like sweat and the service didn't try to improve the situation. We decided to just leave rather than sit in the sauna and eat, and when we gave the management an opportunity to explain. There was no explanation. Will never return. read more

The involved manager checked on us to ensure that all was well but our server, Walker, had been very attentive and made sure we didn't have need for anything. Visited last Friday night. Atmosphere is charming, reminds me of New Orleans. Hostess and wait staff were very good. Was disappointed with the oysters though, was informed they were gulf oysters which were very small...flavor was good but they weren't the quality we usually get out of good gulf oysters. Bisque was just so-so. Shrimp and grits were amazing!! Will definitely try this spot again, hoping for better oysters next time around. read more

It was a "Reel" disappointment. We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday night with a table of 4. The host was super nice but it went downhill fast from there. Our server was horrible. She took our orders and had our drinks to us promptly. We had to wait with empty drink glasses for over 15 minutes. The oysters were disgusting and not fresh, And it was over an hour before we got our food. Which was honestly very subpar. The salmon tacos were too spicy to eat. The Alfredo was so thick and dry it was also inedible. The steak on the surf and turf was good but the shrimp were cold. $120 later we are sorry we made the detour to this restaurant. read more

Went here with my family, there were six of us. We were greeted, sat and served in a timely manner. My child and myself split a meal and the kitchen split it for us without even asking, and everything was cooked to perfection and even with splitting a meal my family had to roll me out of the restaurant. We all had different entrees and I can tell you my scallops were very tasty and plentiful, my husbands steak was tender and cooked perfectly, my sister in law had the whole fried catfish and said it was better than her own and she is an amazing cook.
