Our loaded Fry appetizer was like warm. And it took well over an our for our food to come out. Once I told the waitress if it wasn't out soon we would be leaving it was there pretty quick. First time here. They are open Thursday-Saturday only (5-9pm). Got the a bit before they opened. People already lining up. Opened promptly and the staff was very Friendly and we were quickly seated. Bread came to the table and I'll admit that could be a meal on its own. Excellent bread. Ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. Good selection of domestic drafts at very reasonable prices. Calamari was really good. I order the red snapper with shrimp, loaded baked potato and Mac & cheese. Snapper was perfectly fried. Mac and potato hot and flavorful. Very good My wife had the shrimp basket grilled with loaded baked potato and cheese grits. She liked everything except the cheese grits. The food was decent.... but we waited over an hour AFTER our food was ordered. They told us they were short staffed and the owner was actually in the kitchen cooking. If you don't have the staff, don't seat the tables. They did adjust our bill, but won't be back. read more

The dining was not good On a busy but not overly busy ( no wait ) night the appetizers took 1 hour and the food an hour and a half And it was not good Steak was fatty and cold Catfish was so greasy it was terrible Potato was too hard to eat Do NOT get the shrimp and grits Grits were fine but the fried shrimp were hard as a rock. And $17 is too much to pay for grits. 2nd meal here didn't disappoint! I need to remember the servings are large so that I stop ordering so many appetizers and can never finish my meal! I still get shocked to hear a 30-40 minute wait when the entire patio & bar on the non "family" side of the restaurant is non smoking and typically with no wait which is great. The service was excellent. My husband's grilled shrimp were good. The salad was delicious and the stuffed potato was pretty good. However, my grouper fish was just nasty. Complaining about it got me nowhere. It was Valentine's Day and my meal was very expensive. I can't remember if it was 32 or $38 but way too expensive for one piece of fish a baked potato and a salad. Grouper is not an expensive fish. it is a cheap white fish, but I was limited since I can't have fried food and what I could eat on their menu. It would not have been my first choice. It could've been much better with a different kind of fish I think, but this fish was just mushy and nasty. They would do well to put trout or something better on the menu. They are salted caramel cheesecake was pretty good at about eight dollars apiece. You decide if it's worth that. It cost us about $100 for two simple meals of shrimp and grouper with a 15% tip. I thought that was way overpriced for the quality of food. It was a simple entrée and two sides that came with the meal. The shrimp was $28 as I recall and I know mine was 30 something but at any rate with a 15% tip at all wound up being $97. That's way too pricey for that kind of meal ! the fact that it was nasty fish and they didn't offer to give me something else , really ruined my meal. I probably won't be back. It's one thing to have bad food and it's another not to offer some way to make it better, when you complain about it. If you're going to serve overpriced food , you need to at least make it taste good or offer to make it better, if it's not good! read more

Absolutely the best restaurant in Milledgeville!! Went there a few nights ago for the first time with a dozen friends, and everyone loved what they ordered! Personally I had the smothered ribeye cooked medium rare and it was truly the best steak I've ever had! I know I sound like I'm exaggerating but I'm not at all. I also had a loaded baked potato, and one person at our table ordered calamari for an appetizer and shared it with the group. It was all delicious. The salads were fresh and crisp, the iced tea was just right, and the chicken wings, I'm told, were perfect. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Emily, our server, was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back with my family whenever I can to try some of the other entrees on the menu! read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. This place smells like a wet, musky ash tray. The calamari and fried shrimp are heavily breaded, soggy, and taste as good as the old/dirty grease they were fried in. The fresh from the freezer to the grill salmon came with a handful of hairs free of charge. The host informed us when we asked about the seating options out by the bar area that she didn't deal with that, and wasn't sure who to ask. If I haven't convinced you to not eat here yet, the grilled shrimp smelled as good as catfish bait. Thought we would have Seafood for dinner. Stopped at Taylor's Cove, we were told there was a 30 to 45 minute wait. While waiting, 15 minutes later, a party of four comes in. They were told the wait time as we were, and they went to the Lounge area. 15 Minutes later one of the men, from that party of four, came to the check in counter, and spoke to a lady and she said I will get a table ready, one minute later, she seats them. Now I and my wife were clearly waiting 15 minutes in front of that party. I confronted the lady and she said they were there before us. I told her, "I watch them walk across the parking lot while I was seating in the waiting area, inside the restaurant." She insisted they were there first. We waited 45 minutes more and we were never seated. Time to leave. I don't like a restaurant, that won't seat a party in order, as parties arrive. I called and asked to speak to the manager, but was unable due to the were busy. I told of my complaint to the girl at check in again and I was told that the party called ahead from the boat from the dock. Went to Taylor's Cove this past weekend for the first time. I had the Korean BBQ wings as an appetizer, and they were the best wings I have had in a while. Big, juice, the sauce had a nice kick. I had the shrimp tacos for my dinner, and they did not disappoint. The shrimp were big and cooked perfectly. The sauce on them was a bit heavy. Nevertheless, I would eat them again in a heartbeat. Someone wrote in another review that you could make a meal out of the rolls they were that good. They weren't far off; the bread was pretty good. Our servers were pretty attentive. They brought out a Cesear salad in error vs a garden salad. We didn't make a big deal out of it and kept it. Our party had Mac n Cheese topped with beef brisket with Lirean BBQ sauce on it - very good and large portion, Shrimp and Grits, the best of our three meals and chicken tenders (very good) we had loaded fries for appetizer and they were just ok. Not as hot as they should have been. We had Tropicali draft in chilled glass, very enjoyable. We did have gin and tonic, it was served in plastic cup which was not what we had hoped for. Went to Taylor's Cove last night with our elderly parent. We were seated promptly as it was only 5:30 but they were already starting to get busy. We had a party of seven. The parents were all craving fried fish so that is what we came for. At first we were told they just ran out of bone in catfish. So we all settled for boneless. After a thirty minute wait the waitress comes back to tell us they were out of boneless catfish now! Told us we could choose another menu item. They had Grouper on the menu so we asked for fried grouper instead she said the only way the cook can prepare it is blackened! So you can't substitute grouper for catfish? She said the cook said no! So only option was to replace the catfish with shrimp. Not what we wanted but we had already waited over an hour! We should have gotten up at that point! So another thirty minutes and our food that we didn't really want arrived. It was good so that was a plus! So two hours and 15 minutes later our meal was finished. Parents were still craving fish. Our waitress was so nice and we can't blame her that the "cook" didn't know how to substitute items! This restaurant has a learning curve to fix. We were not offered anything in return for not getting our ordered food nor for the extreme wait time for food. Never saw a manager or anyone to offer an apology as should have been!
