Ben made the whole process flow smoothly. We chose to do real stone and Ben called over to Arizona Tile and they had the stone slabs (6 total!) pulled out and waiting for us to view. I made several changes to the design [like changing drawers to cabinets, adding more pull outs...] and they accommodated all my requests without any hesitation. They even coordinated with Pacific Sales with our appliances and made that process stress-free for me. Our custom island is like a beautiful piece of furniture! I preferred to hire someone local rather than corporate but, since I had a smaller job, I received a lot of "not worth my time" responses from other companies. Robert was the first who matched/beat the Ikea quote and I honestly think he did a better job than an installer who is loyal to Ikea rather than the customer. Notably, the Ikea planner added several panels that were not needed to my order but Robert identified the extra pieces so I could take them back for a refund. Saved me almost $200! Everything installed is level and secure and Robert asked questions along the way to make sure that everything was installed the way I wanted it. I plan to call him for all future Ikea installs and recommend him to anyone who asks.

The installation itself was completed on schedule, but I was left to clean everything up afterward. The crew did not clean, and after I pointed out a few issues, they did come back and address them. That said, there were quality concerns, such as using gray nails on a black garage component and not installing an edger. I also added an item that their installer did not complete. When I later requested a quote for two additional closets, I was upfront and transparent that I planned to get three quotes. I was then told I would have to pay $100 for a quote because I had used a competitor for other projects in my home. I found this unreasonable and unprofessional.
