Property manager Kimberly Jones was very unpleasant to work with. She had a listing in Covina, so I decided to reach out. I called multiple times, but she would never pick up the phone. I messaged her via Zillow and she responded that I can go see the property anytime between 9am-6pm. I went to view it and it had an open house sign. I did a self guided tour (disclosure: if you plan to have this company manage your property, please take note that they leave your property unattended). I did the tour and decided to apply. She said I had to pick up the application which was located outside of her office and that I would need a cashiers check in order for her to process the application. So I drove to her office and grabbed an application and money order. In order for me to submit it, I needed to leave it in the slot door of her office... so I never physically met or spoke to her over the phone - thought the entire process. I submitted my application and she wrote me saying she wasn't going to process my application unless others fell through. The next day the listing was gone and I had to way to speak with Kimberly. She ended up taking the money order and did not process my application. I want everyone to know that this company is lazy and leaves properties unattended, so I would suggest that you do not hire this company to manage your personal property because they leave it unattended and give the gate codes to everyone. Plus, their property manager's never answer their phones. Kimberley is lazy and refused to call, process my application, or be available at the property to see if I had any questions. read more

I lived at 4815 persimmon Ave for 2 years and 7 months, and only left because I am getting married and moving in with my partner or else I would've stayed there longer. I loved living there, management was great and I never had issues with anything. The apartment was remodeled when I moved in which made it such a comfy and delightful space to live in. This review is specifically for Anton from the Sussex House complex - from the moment we signed the lease until now, we've had an incredible experience with the absolute best property manager! We saw the apartment, submitted our application and were approved within 48 hours. The apartment itself is stunning and thoughtfully designed. Since moving in, I've made numerous silly requests - such as asking Anton how to turn on/off the pilot light to our heater, or asking how to set up gas & electric - and Anton has responded within 5 minutes with incredible patience and professionalism above and beyond the scope of his work. I will continue to exclusively rent from Renken as long as Anton is our point of contact. I've rented in multiple different complexes but none have come close to the experience I had at Sussex House. The manager, Anton, is always responsive. One time, my plumbing backed up causing the shower and all sinks to become inoperable. This happened at 11pm and Anton immediately contacted an after hours plumber who had it fixed by 12:30am. The management is always very understanding of any issues that may come up with the unit will do their utmost to find a resolution in a prompt manner. Best experience I've had renting! read more

Update: Property owner reached out after I originally left a bad Yelp review that has since been deleted. Property owner reviewed my application and we walked the building once more, I was given an offer a few days ago and had a co-signer fill out application after landlord had requested a co-signer and now the owners of the property don't want to move forward with my application. I'm curious why?? No explanation was given by the property manager Griffin. Even though I was told by Griffin Wright in emails that the owners want to proceed and lease the building to me. Sounds like the owners are Very Picky on who they want renting one of there units at 555 Benson Ave in Upland all while this has been available since April that shows you they don't care to rent the building out. What's funny is I was willing to sign a 2 yr lease even though listing states 1-5 yrs and I even have 3x the amount of a 2 yr lease in my personal savings. Showing that I have plenty of funds to cover rent for well over 2 years. I Definitely don't recommend this company or Ever renting a unit at 555 Benson Ave Upland, California. read more

Anton gave my wife and I our chance at our first apartment at Sussex in Temple City. At first we were nervous with it being the first time on our own, but Anton made it a smooth experience and was very easy going. I love the autonomy of the lease and that he was always so easily approachable about anything. Im sad to give him up as a property manager but we found an opportunity for a bigger space and took it. Otherwise, I would have stayed for several more years. Also, going to miss having that cheap gas station right next us. So convenient! Thanks buddy! read more

Sussex House apartments is just a complex but Anton makes it feel like home with monthly comps and doing everything in his power to have all tenants satisfied with any & everything. I live in a studio on 2nd floor for about a month and couldn't be anymore happier, Anton went above and beyond to satisfy my little family with everything moving in answering questions within 5 mins VERY VERY PROFESSIONAL. makes my last apartment complex look like a joke. Very please with the amenities & nothing in the area can give you so much for not breaking the bank. Watch out for Property Manager Brad, he is the most unprofessional person I've had the "privilege" of working with since ordering at Taco Bell.. Seriously, for the position he is in and his maturity level, absolute bottom tier. Good luck if you work with Brad, he might just throw a hissy fit... Brad represents Renken. If Renken is oblivious to Brad's childlike capacity, working with this company is a complete gamble. Either everything works out hunky dory or gives you a financial nightmare. I was a tenant at the Fairhall location and I just wanted to thank Anton for allowing us to stay at this amazing property for a year! It was a pleasure from start to finish; our unit got remodeled, repainted and recountered just before we moved in! He helped us so quickly and easily set up all our utilities and mail! The property itself located in such an amazing convenient spot for everything , 7/11 and a Liquor store across the street makes for some fun midnight adventures for snacks, In n out burger 5 minute walking distance, Plenty of markets shops and things to do in uptown temple city! San Anita mall and racetrack super close! Lots of bomb ramen spots! The property is clean and maintained always! Laundry room always clean! We were even offered access to the other complex across the street for extra washers and dryers and pool! They offer bbq's and picnic tables we had fun hosting people over for carne asadas! Anton was the most amazing manager ever! Doesnt rule like a tyrant , Allowed us to customize and hang stuff in our unit to truly make our place feel homey. Answers texts insanely quick and resolves any issues even faster! Súper understanding and chill! Amazing hospitality and we loved how he would plan and host lunches just to show appreciation for the tenants! Would keep us informed with all construction and parking changes ahead of time and even organized a Christmas Decorating contest with Discounted rent as prizes to get everyone in the spirit! we had never ever heard of something like that! Terrible at managing parking lots. They want you to do their job for them..and ignore you when you report cars.
