I'm really rooting for Tamarack Resort, but if this restaurant is any indication of the standards here, I don't see success in the future. We were seated outside with empty water glasses and no menus on a 90 degree day and waited for some time for both. The server's name tag said she'd been working with the Resort since 2015 and she was clearly over it. Our $32 Halibut entree came to the table raw and our $28 pork tenderloin entree came to the table overcooked. We sent these back for two simple hamburgers that came out as requested, but lukewarm with the red onions I'd asked to have removed on the salad WE JUST ATE! The server apologized for not hearing that I'd asked for another drink. She didn't hear me because she never asked. This is overpriced fine dining at it's worst offered by clearly an absentee owner! I'm so excited to have a restaurant in the village! I've been to The Reserve twice now and food and service were great on both occasions. Prices are comparable to restaurants in Boise and don't feel gouged because it's a resort. I have had both the grilled trout and Italian chicken sandwich and while I liked both the trout is definitely my favorite of the two. read more

Went to dinner with friends, four of us in total. Men order bison and loved it. Roast Chicken was generous and cooked to perfection: moist on inside and crispy on outside. Great green beans. Pasta generous and delicious. Very nice and attentive staff. Lovely ambiance - cozy, quiet. It was perfect and we are planning on returning during our stay. Vicki from New Hampshire was our server and she was the absolute best. She was so over the top friendly with my two kids and made our experience from start to finish simply delightful. The food was excellent too--from the Caesar salad to the king salmon topped off with the BEST DESSERT: churros filled with caramel+ huckleberry ice cream. Exquisite! This place to dine is a must avoid unless you want a few cocktails only. I have been to this place at least 10 times and i think I have tried just about every option on the menu. Under cooked chicken, borderline raw, steak not cooked properly, a wedge salad that was discussing, windows dirty you cannot even enjoy the mountains, to slow service when no one is dining makes this a must avoid. Every dish is cooked by inexperience people that make most dishes almost uneditable. So disappointing since new ownership spouted off so much promising things going on with this resort. Don't even try Crusty's pizza which will be worse then any frozen pizza you will eat and yes we paid $150 for 5 to eat a slice and have a drink. Must avoid dining at Tamarack, simply disgusting. read more

Food sucked service was good. Waitress had nothing to work with, and I felt bad for her. She said she was going to get the chef but he never came out to acknowledge the issues with the food. Sandwich was dry, donuts raw and flavorless. Nachos had Tostitos salsa from a jar, and though potato nachos sound like it might work... it doesn't. This place is unfortunately not real great. We did get into the restaurant with the last reservation of the night but it felt like they were trying to push us out the door the whole time. They brought out our entrees at the same time as the starter salad so by the time we got to our main course it was cold. All the food was just kind of ok. It was a pretty busy night and I could tell the staff was a bit overwhelmed. BUT... We ordered the garlic shrimp appetizer and unfortunately the shrimp were over cooked and it lacked flavor. I also had to remind the server we hadn't ordered our entrees yet. While we were waiting, one of the other employees took our water bottle to refill it and then never came back. My boyfriend and I both did not have anything to drink for about 10 minutes. For my main, I got the vegetarian risotto. It had great flavor but it was very under cooked and chalky. Then I found a piece of RUBBER in it. I almost swallowed it. My boyfriend got the ribeye but when he asked for a steak knife, our server gave him a butter knife. The risotto was taken off the bill and we also got a complimentary dessert. I appreciated the staff being so friendly about the situation. I could tell they felt bad. I am giving this review three stars ONLY because the brownie saved the day. It was the best thing we had all night. But it was missing the scoop of vanilla ice cream I ordered on the side. read more

Came here for the weekend to go bike riding at the park last month. Great times on the mountain but the reserve made me wish that I reserved my money and put it into the savings account. The execution from the kitchen was piss poor. We waited 45 minutes for fries and a burger. You would hope; after waiting that long, the food would come out hot but what we got was a dry burger and some soggy fries. Talked to the manager and she comped us a free dessert but My god. I went to the Reserve for lunch and was blown away by the food, drinks, and atmosphere. The French dip might be the best I've ever had and the smashed potatoes were a great change from regular old french fries. The cocktails were perfectly crafted by Christy the bartender and like the rest of the staff she was very friendly and attentive.
