Average bar at best. Bartenders do not know how to make drinks and don't follow proper safety in bartending. Sometimes a 6 count. Sometimes a three count. Won't be back. Inexperienced bartenders made for a bad experience. Kinda sad to see it. As a seasoned bartender classically trained I absolutely caught every mistake they were making. Including serving drinks in cracked glasses and putting half used red bulls into the ice well. Which is a huge health code violation. Dirty Bar and waste of money. Clean your bar. Take pride In Making drinks. I ordered an old fashioned and it was terrible. They didn't even know how to make it. Pretty sad. Also my friends who ordered mix drinks were disappointed in the taste and lack of friendliness. It's was robotic and not every interactive when ordering. Bartender blonde lady seemed bored and like she didn't want to be there. She served me two drinks both times she used the glass to scoop ice in the ice well and chips of glass were missing in the top of my glass. Bartender 101. NEVER Ever scoop ice from the well with the glass you serve a drink in. Use the ice scoop. Shame. And dangerous as hell. Glass pieces floating around in the ice. seriously ??? Bad bad bartending. This was really disappointing. We came on a weekend but the couple servers weren't even close 3nough to cover all the people. And they were miserable at bring overloaded. If you want food, go wait in line at the counter as that's where you order. No idea where you get the food as after 25 minutes of trying to figure out their ordering system and then waiting in line we left. I was so excited to get some merchandise from yacht club because my friends back home refer to themselves as yacht club. The bouncer was so mean and rude saying we couldn't see the merchandise. He also said they were at full capacity when they weren't. There was not a lot of people in there which made for a disappointing experience. Don't go there. Go to McCall brewing company because the beer and service is 1000% better. Wish I would have stayed there. read more

We tried to go to Yacht Club to get merchandise. Long story short my college daughter hangs out at a house called "yacht club" and thought it would be fun to get stuff for them. We got there about 10:30 the bouncer said they were at capacity. Which it definitely did not look like. My daughter asked about glass ware he said they had none but they had shirts and hats. My daughter said ok can I go look at them and he said no. Really we just wanted to buy a shirt. It really felt like he was trying to show his "authority" and was just rude. Let me just get to the point the BLONDE BARTENDER...... for one she is power hungry-rude-aggressive-cussed out everyone-screamed when nothing was happening-she had the worst attitude I've ever seen in any work environment- this place was not welcoming or clean or friendly at all---literally I think that this place needs to be on bar rescue not only because the people who run the place but the place in general is unsanitary. The blonde bartender seems to be getting all these terrible reviews for a reason. If this place wants to thrive because the location is really good they need a whole re evaluation. That older blonde bartender needs therapy.... Just don't go there it's not worth it at all and- if u read other reviews there are a lot about her keeping your card and giving herself a big tip-stealing money-like she's not only hot headed she's a wicked human- this place needs to be shut down. read more

The blonde bartender at 6 pm on July 15th was incredibly rude. She refused to serve two non local women with an intentional smirk and mean girl glare for over 15 minutes while she had served both of their husbands prior and served several locals that sat down after. Another local even apologized and said, "Sorry this is just what she does". Absolutely shameful customer service. read more

In the words of my best friend: "You know the place is notorious for over serving if they have a posted 86 list." In my own words: "I view this as a challenge." With no one there to impress we felt no need to impress. And with the aid of 10pm-11pm $2 well drinks we did our best to make that damned 86 list. We tried a food fight, dancing till we broke furniture, physically acosting other patrons when they happened to turn the wrong way during the Cupid Shuffle... but it did not matter. The locals must be suckers for punishment or have a soft spot for cute obnoxious out of control loud drunk chicks (I mean, who doesnt?). We drank and we drank and we drank... we drank until the boyfriend threw up so hard he burst blood vessels in his eyeball. In a town where nothing happens in the off season and youre left to make do with whats open, try the Yatch Club. Chances are you will be able to drink yourself into crumbled crackers in your hair lap dance on the unwilling felony assault charge good time. read more

Great casual bar with an awesome view and great bartenders! The happy hour food is great and the drinks are strong. Pool tables and shuffleboard for extra fun. Saw a great band on Sat. night and the place was hoppin' also we were there this summer for a bachelorette party and there was a pretty jammin DJ who took requests. I came here with my partners family over the Christmas holiday and was pleasantly surprised with the drink costs during happy hour but less impressed with the food selection. I am not a big meat eater and on this particular day I was looking for a lighter fare. The staff is super up front and will let you know that the food is all pre-made so they cannot make any adjustments to it. This was really constricting for our lunch experience because it basically gave me 2 or 3 food options - none of which sounded remotely appetizing. I ended up ordering a cheese soup and the first couple bites were ok but then I got a really weird aftertaste and ended up not being able to eat much more. My company was also not very pleased with their choices. I would definitely come back here for drinks but would probably eat somewhere else beforehand. Decided to go upstairs after our great dinner downstairs in the same building. First thing I'd like to say is that the three bartenders behind the bar were doin fantastic, considering how busy it was! It amazes me how rude and impatient people can be. First thing as we walk in, a lady in a group of girls was throwing a fit at the door, because the bouncer wouldn't let her in without her ID. Come on!! It's a bar. What did she expect? After the door man finished dealing with that fiasco, we got in, and sat at the bar. Ordered well poured cocktails. Then the shit show started, the crowds came pouring in. Two bachelorette parties and what looked like a wedding after party. While these "kids" as I would call them, exhibited no patience, tipped little to nothing, and were demanding and pushy (crowding in around my husband and myself, so they could flop themselves on the bar top, in hopes that they would get served faster). The bartenders kept their patience, and worked their tushes off. I commend them. In their position, I probably would have thrown something or lost it on half of that clientelle. I felt our cocktails were generously poured, and because were polite and patient, we were served almost immediately (as immediately as can be expected on a weekend night in August in a tourist town). As one bartender had to leave behind the bar to help the bouncers with an altercation, we decided (noting the posted sign that stated all tabs left over night would have a 20% gratuity added) that we would slip out and come back the next day to get our card. When we returned the next day, we were greeted by an entirely different atmosphere. Great Bloody Mary's, quiet middle aged to older crowd, your usual hungover kids. We tipped 30% and left a little extra for the outstanding night before bartenders. The 4 star review, is due more to the patrons from our night experience, and nothing to do with the staff or service. Choose the time you visit wisely, depending on the experience you're looking for. Oh yeah!! Forgot to mention the good bar food!! Try the Prime Rib Dip and Jalapeno Poppers. read more

The manager is crazy and hot headed. It's time to share this story and I can't make this stuff up... I went in with a bachelorette party and ended up only having a couple drinks all night and only one on my card. I went to close out at the end of the night and the woman who I later found out was the manager said I had already closed out and walked away before I could answer. I was not impaired enough to have forgotten doing that and figured she probably got me mixed up with one of the other girls since we were all wearing the same shirt so I waited for her to return but she avoided me and the other bartenders were busy. The bar was closing so it was emptying out. I finally caught her eye and said "excuse me. My card is still back there. I haven't closed out yet" and she threw her hand in my face and said I needed to leave. I was really confused because I had been really polite and was just trying to pay and leave. Finally I caught the guy that had been serving us the whole night and said "I know my card is back there can you grab it for me so I can close out?" He grabbed it from the small pile and handed it over. The manager saw him do that and lost her marbles yelling at him to stay out of it and then started yelling explicatives at me while the other bartender tried to apologize for her. I was totally caught off guard. My friend who saw the whole thing happen told her she was crazy and knocked an empty cup over. The woman, I kid you not, picked up the cup and threw it hard at another girl's head that was with our party and had no idea what was going on - she was just walking by. We got out of there quick to see the police were outside dealing with some drunk guy. I made eye contact with one of the cops so I told him what just happened and he asked if I'd like to press charges - of course not. My friend who had just been hit in the head with the cup said "I might want to. A bartender can't just do that to people." So the cop asked for our IDs and went in. He came out and said "I am really sorry about this but she has 86'd you both for a year and their is nothing I can do." He suggested we contact the owner because he has seen other complaints about them doing things like this before! I was shocked. We told the story to the cab driver and he said she's trying to keep your credit card so she can charge an exorbitant tip before you come back for it. People in town know she does this. I had a had time believing this. How would someone get away with that? We later met someone who use to bartend there who confirmed that she picks people who could be too drunk to realize they didn't close out and she keeps their card! Crazy! I was with a bachelorette party so I must have looked like a good target. Good thing I didn't drink enough for her to take advantage. I can't believe a business can still stand with this knowingly happening. read more

WORST DJ EVER. I've given this guy all summer and he is by far the worst DJ I have ever heard. I've had to leave countless nights because he's so bad. If you want to dance go to foresters at least he will play what you request. Plus the bartenders ignore you when you walk up to the bar. AVOID this place at all cost and go to foresters So thought this guy would leave by fall but I think he's gotten worse. Unless you want to go to the "club" avoid this place. read more

Service was good. Went there with a group of people, celebrated a birthday. Bartenders were great but it was karaoke night. The karaoke show was horrible only because of the host. You will only get a song in if you know her. We put in our song early, there were some who sang a song twice and they still didn't get to our song. I have had many great experiences at the Yacht Club over the years, but I had the worst customer experience ever on Friday night, January 24th, 2014. As the night was winding down, they announced last call, and I decided to pay my tab and head out before the rest of the crowd. I left my coat and drinks at my table, walk over and paid my tab with the bartender. When I returned to my table, I found that one of the servers had cleared my drink. Not a big deal, it happens, but it was 3/4 full, so I was hoping that I could get it replaced. I went back to the bartender, and was told that they could no longer serve me, and that was that. So, I asked to see the manager, who it turns out is the current owner, Monica Tway. She was incredibly dismissive and rude to me, and even told me that I had to wait while she was taking care of other customers. Finally she returned and told me that I would not have my drink replaced, or my money returned. Honestly, all I was looking for was an acknowledgement, maybe an apology, but I was treated horribly. The place was definitely busy, as it was the first night of the Winter Carnival, but that is no excuse for horrible service and such a terrible attitude. I will not spend another dime at the Yacht Club while it is under the management or ownership of Ms. Tway. read more

Seasonal worker in McCall, Always end my night a yacht club when i go out in the summer. They have an outside patio that looks over the lake and the crowd is much younger then the one at Foresters (bar across the street). I love McCall. A great treasure to escape to for rest and relaxation. This place is an unfortunate entity in this community. Every time I come here someone expects a fight. I'm from the city, young and fairly successful. I come to McCall to relax and enjoy. EVERY TIME I step into this place some local wants to get rowdy just because. The staff and bar tenders are great but the DJ is terrible! If you like techno mash-ups then this is your place. If you actually like good music and are looking to dance then you will be greatly disappointed. The DJ at Foresters will play anything you request, but unfortunately Yacht Club is the busier of the bars. On a huge positive note... They make a killer Moscow Mule with actual copper mugs and real ginger beer!! Change the music and I'll easily change my review to 5 stars. read more

on 6-25-2015 I recived the worst service I have ever been given. after getting off work at 12:00 I went in for a drink. ordered two shots. when I went back for more I got four. after which the male barkeep that was working that night voiced that I didn't tip well. (this was after i worked a 10+hr shift and made less than $10 in tips myself) so I gave him every last cent I had on me. he then tried to give it back which I refused and walked home to get him another $5. when I returned, I was told I had been cut off for the night. that I was being needy and rude. when I spoke to the barkeep again to give him his tip he refused it and told me I should not come to a bar unless I had enough to money to drink. i will not be going back here for any reason and i will never recommend the place to another customer of mine. $1 half shots are not worth being treated like dirt by some punk who asks his customers for free money. read more
