I've been living at The Residences at Eastern Market for a couple of months and can easily say that it is the best overall experience I have had with apartments in DC. I've been living here long enough to address every part of apartment living and will break down each experience individually. Leasing: There was an issue with my income verification, but after connecting with the Property Manager, Charlotte Brown, she quickly got to the bottom of the situation and I had my rental approval in hand shortly thereafter. I'm glad that I had this initial challenge because I was able to see how the management team handled the situation and I couldn't be happier with how effectively it was handled and resolved. Apartment: My 5th-floor one-bedroom apartment is nearly 800 square feet with a gorgeous view of Eastern Market, the Capitol Building's dome, the Library of Congress, the Supreme Court, and Senate office buildings. My floorplan includes a spacious living room and bedroom, a built-in oven, microwave, and gas range in the kitchen, and an in-unit laundry room with a linen closet and extra storage space. I utilize the dining room space as my home office and it provides plenty of space for a large L-shaped desk. The developer, EastBanc, originally planned to build condos and included many features that are not found in any apartments I've looked at in DC, like extra insulated floors and walls (I have not once heard any noise from my neighbors), gourmet kitchen with built-in appliances and externally vented exhaust hood, individual apartment venting with 100% fresh air replacement, customizable closet storage system, real hardwood floors, and more. Amenities: The building has an incredible 6th-floor rooftop with a community room and open-air grilling stations with panoramic views of Capitol Hill, Navy Yard, and Virginia in the distance. There are many additional residence spaces like a main floor community room, coffee and tea station, outdoor courtyard, library, rooftop heated pool, a well-appointed gym, and a Trader Joe's right below. We can even access Trader Joe's without stepping outside! The 24-hour concierge is one of the best I have experienced. Every concierge quickly knew my name and easily handled any request I had as well as the large quantity of packages I had delivered. They will even deliver the packages to your apartment if you'd like. It was amazing to come home from work and have all my packages neatly stacked in my apartment. They've all quickly made me feel like part of the family. As part of our rent package, we can receive complimentary light housekeeping services every other week. I've taken advantage of this and have been amazed at the quality and care from the housekeepers. They will also take care of any dry cleaning, grocery shopping, plant watering, taking packages to the post office, and all I pay for is the cost of groceries or the dry cleaning. Maintenance and Management: My apartment was freshly painted and looked great at move-in. Shortly after, I discovered a couple of issues like a refrigerator water filter needing replacement and a toilet tank that wouldn't always refill completely. Maintenance was at my door first thing the next morning with replacement parts and were in and out in less than 10 minutes. The property is kept immaculately clean by the housekeeping staff and the residents here also seem to take great pride in maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere. The management at this building is second to none. The Property Manager, Charlotte Brown, is amazing at her job and as a person. She has hosted three or four resident events in the short two months since I moved in and each one had fantastic food, drinks, and entertainment. She knows every resident, child, and pet in the building and goes above and beyond in everything she does. I signed my lease while living in another state and when I finally met Charlotte in-person for the first time after moving in, she gave me a big hug and I immediately felt at home. Price: This building is priced quite a bit higher than any other apartment I've lived in. However, when looking at the price per square foot, it isn't as large of a price difference as you'd think since these apartments are so much larger than others in the area. Additionally, the amenities that I mentioned earlier make this building very attractive and add significantly to the value. The fact that I can live in a large, quiet, luxury apartment, with numerous on-site amenities, in the middle of Capitol Hill, bi-weekly housekeeping, instantly responsive maintenance, regular community events, and a five-star property manager like Charlotte, this is probably the best value for an apartment I've ever had. read more

My wife and I just moved in with our two daughters before Christmas and we've been spoiled by the staff here at the Residences at Eastern Market. From the friendly concierge to the management team, all have taken steps to make sure our move-in was a smooth process. The parking garage is easy to get to via the same elevator that takes us to our apt floor. You are also steps away from the grocery store (Trader Joe's). In fact, you don't even have to go outside to get to Trader Joe's. I would highly recommend getting a tour of this place like we did. We fell in love with this place and we were able to pick the exact apt we wanted. read more

I had a horrible experience with this leasing office. I applied to rent an apartment that was advertised online. Once I applied and paid a deposit, the leasing manager started giving me conflicting information on the move in date. Several weeks later, she stated that the tenant did not want to move so they were not going to honor the rental deposit agreement. I still have not received my deposit back. I found the management to be dismissive and unprofessional. They left me in a horrible position and couldn't explain why the tenant who terminated their lease could remain in the apartment even though they took my deposit. They offered other apartments that were smaller or more expensive. They took my deposit and after I asked to see the apartment, they promised to let me see it so I would not cancel my deposit. They never scheduled a time for me to view the apartment as promised but suddenly said the "tenant withdrew their notice." The tenant had effectively terminated the lease at that point. I still have not received my deposit despite them saying they expedited it and sent it overnight. read more

The Residences at Eastern Market are an example of premium apartment living in the heart of Capital Hill. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, as are the units, the appliances in the units, and the amenity spaces. Some apartments can get a little run-down looking because under-funded maintenance and cleaning staff. However, this is not the case here and I have never taken issue with the cleanliness of common areas such as the pool, guest suite, or reading rooms. While the rooftop patio is one of my favorite places in the building, it was closed down for a long time due to COVID-19. This caused me explore the grounds more to find a different outdoor space, to read and relax, and led me to my new favorite spot in the Grove. The staff is excellent as well, especially Samnang and Corric, who put on original and fun tenet engagement activities. Recently, we had a really entertaining virtual Bingo night with great prizes and all the supplies (plus drinks!) provided by the management. Johnetta Jordan, who is the responsive and professional leasing officer for our building, is another great staff member to shout out to. Overall, this building delivers on the saying: "You get what you pay for". Yes, the building is quite expensive, but the cost is visible in high level of cleanliness, security, quality of apartments and appliances, awesome amenities, and most importantly the great staff. read more

Apart from being a beautiful, extremely well-kept property with fabulous amenities and in my opinion one of the most breathtaking roof deck views of DC, located right in the center of Capitol Hill - certainly one of the loveliest, liveliest, and coziest neighborhoods of the Capital, the thing that makes this property most outstanding and wonderful is its staff. *Everyone* makes you feel that you are truly at home, that you are welcomed, that you're not just a resident. You get pampered in so many ways, there's always someone to help you, every time you're greeted with fun and a big smile and warm words, and you just instantly know and feel that you're in good hands. And this positive vibe projects to the residents - everyone is super friendly and sociable, you really feel that you are in a community. I have never experienced anything like that before. I wanted to write a review after my first month of living at this property. I am giving three stars due to the management company. The property itself is very nice. I would say one of the nicer properties in DC. The location is excellent and the amenities are good. The other tenants have been very friendly and nice. The disappointment has been Buzzuto. This is my second experience with them and now I know better. They are slow to respond to requests. Their customer service is average and for the money you pay to rent from them it is just unacceptable. If you are thinking about renting from them be careful. read more

If you're looking for a place to live in, and you're considering the Residences at Eastern Market, just do it. The units are extremely well kept, the design is gorgeous, lots of storage and the kitchen is straight out of my dreams. The amenities, like the pool and gym, are top notch. My favorite part about living here, on top of what I have already described, is the concierge team. They will know your name before you've moved in, and they will become a part of your life in the best way possible. I love catching up with Robert and Corric (and will miss Shane now that he's left!). They go above and beyond to care for the residences. Every week, there is an event happening. Whether it is Wine Wednesday with live music, champagne brunch or paint and sip! You cannot be bored here. The maintenance team also deserves a shoutout. They are timely, polite and will make living here so smooth. The location is perfect. Across the street from both the eastern market metro and the market itself. Walk to Barracks row or enjoy the market outside your door every weekend. Come visit, chat with a resident in the lobby and I am certain that they will echo my sentiment: I never want to move. read more

I've really enjoyed the two months that I've lived here. Even a move that goes well is stressful but the 777 staff helped make it painless. The building manager is top notch which is reflected in the team she assembled--they are warm and welcoming to a person. The residents are friendly and the neighborhood is hard to top--it's more peaceful than I thought it would be. The Eastern Market Metro has 3 different lines and various buses stop out front on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have been living here for almost two months and I really enjoy it. The building is always very clean and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. My apartment has fantastic appliances for anyone who enjoys cooking. It is very centrally located, directly across the street from Eastern Market metro YET it is surprisingly VERY quiet. You never hear the reoccurring weekend Market. My niece and daughter love the amenity spaces and the convenience of being able to easily walk to DC library, DC pool, and the market. read more

My (83 year old) mother moved to the Eastern Market Residences about a year ago from her (too big) townhouse on Capitol Hill. I live about three hours away, and she had recently had to put her husband in a nursing home, so I was worried about her living alone--dealing with repairment, snow shoveling, security--all the hassles of homeownership. Her move to these Bozutto apartments were a Godsend - she has an incredibly smart and gorgeous apartment, a maintenance staff that is there without question to do anything she needs, safe parking and manned doors, and Eastern Market and all its shopping and bustle right nearby so she's never lonely. The whole staff was so welcoming and solicitous--made her feel a part of the community right away. She's been staying at home during the pandemic, but it's no chore at her new place--with lots of activities and contact with the staff and other residents (all of whom have gone above and beyond to keep the building safe yet welcoming). They even helped me arrange a surprise birthday cake to be delivered (masked, socially distanced) while we were on a family Zoom call with her. I've had the pleasure of meeting long time staff Johnetta Jordan (who made Mom feel at home from day one), Robert Brown (who is as personable as he is fashionable), and Samnang Man (who is even now helping me make sure Mom gets her Christmas gifts delivered on time), but Mom raves about all the staff and how to a person, they are efficient, kind, and joyful. I am so happy she is where she is and can recommend Eastern Market Residences highly enough. read more

I love living in this community. The entire staff is wonderful, helpful, and have made here feel like home. They really go above and beyond and care for their residents. The apartments themselves are beautiful and high quality. There are great rooftops, a fully equipped gym, and pool also. The neighborhood is a great place for walks and there are many local restaurants and small businesses in the area which make this area charming. Eastern Market is great especially on weekends. It is within walking distance of the Capitol and the Library of Congress. Trader Joe's is right around the corner and you can even access Trader Joe's through one of the elevators, which is especially helpful when raining or too cold out. The staff also plans many events throughout the month, which are really fun and build community. I cannot say enough good things about this location and the Residencies at Eastern Market.
