This place is legit, the hookah bartender was amazing! Good music, great hookah mixes and a comfy couch to melt into. Telly made an amazing mix with lady killer, mint, watermelon! Go see her!

Pecola's Tapas and Shisha Lounge, the chic Black-owned and woman-owned restaurant/lounge in Hampton, VA... 5-Star Stylish, Sophisticated, Bomb Bomb Diggity Dot Com, favorite place to me!!! If you're looking for a restaurant that combines elegance, flavor, and a memorable atmosphere, look no further than Pecola's in Hampton, VA. This Black-owned and woman-owned gem delivers a one-of-a-kind experience from the moment you walk in. Pecola's effortlessly blends bold global flavors with a chic lounge vibe. The tapas-style menu is creative and delicious, with dishes perfect for sharing with friends or savoring on your own. Many guests rave about standout bites like the fired-cracker shrimp, salmon bites, seafood egg rolls, and fresh sliders; as well as the menu pairs fabulously with the handcrafted cocktails. What really sets Pecola's apart is the ambience -- the decor feels upscale and stylish without being pretentious, and it's a perfect place for date nights, celebrations, or just catching up with friends. Live music nights and a lively vibe make it more than just dinner, it's a full sensory experience. The shisha lounge adds an extra layer of relaxation and fun, offering a cultural twist that's unique for the area and a hit with locals and visitors alike. Service is generally attentive and friendly, and while a few reviews mention that the restaurant can get busy (especially on event nights), many customers say that's part of the charm -- it feels like the place to be. Overall, Pecola's is a must-visit destination in Hampton -- a restaurant that showcases creativity, vibes, and community pride. Whether you're grabbing brunch, sipping cocktails, or enjoying shisha with friends, you'll leave already planning your next visit.

The food was absolutely amazing!!! I recommend the seafood egg rolls, they are filled with lots of crabmeat and shrimp. The Brussels sprouts were amazing too very tasty. The decor, the staff and the band were amazing. I was visiting from Baltimore and I can wait to come back and bring friends!!!

For their premier night, a large turnout came. We were told people was lining up outside from 3:30 in the afternoon. My party came around 9 PM. The ambience is mature and sophisticated. There are a number of cocktails and a decent menu at current. The fire shrimp is definitely a hit

The vibes upon entering are very relaxed and welcoming. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The drinks were great, I had ordered myself a lemon drop and my friends split the mimosa flight! We ordered a double apple traditional hookah, it was flavorful and long lasting. I would recommend this place to someone looking for a chill but classy place to hang out. I love that they keep the smoking and nonsmoking sections separate.

Made reservations for 4pm Sunday. We were seated immediately . Took drink order then food order. Water tasted like chlorine. Food order didn't come until 5:45. We ordered finger food. I wanted crab cake sliders and was told they were out. I ordered something else. Got around to the fourth person and she wanted the catfish sliders and was told they were out but she could have the crab cake sliders. Huh! I was my birthday they knew because of reservations but did it said nothing. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere but staff needs better training we never even received a second drink but management did say they had call outs. I get that but people were being fed that got there after us. The whole staff needs to be retrained. The only thing was good was the one drink that was brought to the table.

I could be referring to everything incorrectly, but aside from the flavor and I've tube, everything else was just for extra price. Our waiter was quite pleasant and took her time explaining each component of the hookah to us. When we ordered three strawberry lemon drop shooters, she informed us that they would be served in a martini glass, so "we will get more." Because we ordered shooters rather than cocktails. We were given a cocktail rather than shooters, so we were unintentionally overcharged for that as well. Although they were a little underwhelming, we still drank them and had a fantastic time. It simply was not what we had asked for. Although we had a great time and the Hookah was tasty, I don't think any of the extras were necessary. Looking around the room, we looked to be the only ones who had splurged but were still having the same experience. The ice tube (?) is the piece I would repurchase. It was cool how it made the smoke colder. The blue mist flavor was very tasty, although it was about all you could taste. The watermelon head was an extra $30 or so, but it was just for show. We were advised that paying $10 more for a better hooka would allow us more smoking time, but we still had to replace the coal more frequently than expected. The atmosphere inside was casual; the security guard outside informed my partner he couldn't bring his small bag in, but then let in two other men, with slightly larger bags directly after him. That struck me as strange. I wish the atmosphere inside was a little more...stimulating? The space is already very small, so I don't think there's much for you to sit and look around at besides other people after your chat somewhat finishes and some of you are waiting for your time at the Hookah. I believe it might benefit from more decorations, better lighting, and either more TV screens or having the TVs show different things rather than all being on the same channel. If you're looking for a local hooka joint, I recommend you check them out. But keep in mind that it is a lounge, so they will try to upcharge you at every opportunity.

I went to Kings in Chesepeake on Military Highway, probably the worst hookah lounge I've been too,…read morethe service was HORRIBLE the staff is rude, our "waitress" was playing spades with the quote on quote owner and didn't bother to check on our table, they make you pay each time you order and you can't have a tab and they overcharged my card, they are literal SCAMMERS!!!! MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT YOUR BILL BEFORE PAYING, and they also trick you when tipping, they don't tell you gratuity is added and instead it just straight up said add tip' not "additional" like most places. Don't bother with that hole in a wall, not worth it. Oh! And they Wings are trash too, and Dj was trash, just trash like they wait staff. ***Also don't bother asking for a refund, the waitress tricked me and gave me a fake receipt for some wings that they messed up, and I couldn't dispute it with my bank because it didn't have my card number on the receipt, it was dark and I didn't notice until the next day, it's a shame that they have to SCAM people to stay in business , fix your service, your food , and get a good DJ and people will come and pay, run a LEGITIMATE business.
