The owner was super nice and helpful. Her assistant is a high school girl and we weren't too impressed with her. I didn't feel like there was enough help for the amount of people we had. There were about 14 of us and we all had different types of projects. Mine had three different levels of paint and got messed up. The assistant tried to help but she ended up painting on it while it was still wet and made it worse. I was the last one to leave at 9:00 (arrived at 5:00) because the owner was trying to help me fix it. It doesn't look great at all. Maybe they should have had one more person there to assist. I felt abandoned after awhile and left to figure it out by myself. Again, the owner was super sweet and tried to help as much as she could. I wish I had known in advance that my project would take longer and need more work than the others. Maybe that could be added to the website, difficulty level??

We decided to go here because the traditional gift to give for 9 years anniversary is pottery, and what better place to go than Color Me Mine? (: There are a LOT of ceramics to choose from so you can truly get creative and personal with your selection. There are many options including piggy banks, plates, bowls, dishes, mugs, etc. You have to pay $10 painting fee per painter in addition to the price of your selected ceramic. Our grand total was about $74, which seems pricey, but it was worth it because we had a great time, and we were able to make customized gifts for one another. The girls there were really friendly, and one girl in particular who helped us was SO SWEET! I wish I got her name. She was so accommodating and friendly towards our two little boys. We didn't pay to have the boys paint a ceramic piece because they're too young. However, she gave them some paint and coloring sheets so they wouldn't be bored. That was incredibly helpful because it allowed my husband and I to concentrate a bit better. We stayed there for about 1.5 hours and they kept checking back on us and getting us paint. We asked for a lot of paint, and they never seemed annoyed or rushed us. They also gave a lot of good tips and advice! Thank you, ladies, for a fun night! Since this was a private lesson, she actually did some of the sewing for me. Top stitching on satin binding. My straight stitch sewing on satin is all over the place. I was so pleased and GRATEFUL for her help. My appt wears far above MY expectations. Her studio is just the right size to show she knows what she's doing and comfortable for a private lesson. I learned to change needle and pin size for satin binding, the technique up close (much better than YouTube), a miracle way to do ruffles, and received advice on other issues. The classes are really small so you do get a great experience and learn how to do it well. You create the plate and paint it in the same night, so when you pick it up, it's all ready to go in about two weeks. It's so fun to try out a pottery wheel, and they help out to ensure everyone can do it! They also offer premade pottery pieces where you can paint yourself and fire for you.
