As for the service: When I come here I feel like I'm getting quality service with integrity, and Hoda is super gentle. Just to give you a heads up this service is set in an unrelated business office. Hoda has two rooms rented out here for her various services. Dont expect a spa setting. However, your skin or hair follicles dont know the difference (about the setting), so it doesnt matter. I would also recommend booking 1 or 2 sessions ahead if possible. I recommend this place.

Experience: As a new client of Karisma, I was very impressed with the service that Hoda provided to me. I went in for my first session for laser hair removal on Feb. 14th. I initially was only going in to get my underarms, but thanks to Hoda, I ended up doing all three small areas. The procedure only took 30 min. and that is for three areas. Hoda started with the paper work or admin. stuff and walked me through how we would proceed and she also took the time to explain her machines. Her newest machine is impeccable. It's performance is amazing, I barely felt anything except for a warm glaze of heat. We started my first session at a higher setting and my skin was fine, where we didn't see any inflammation or red skin. Hoda was very pleasant to work with; she approached my appointment in a professional and friendly manner. She offers many other services, in which I cannot wait to try, like photofacials. As a side note, just in case you forgot to shave a certain area or two, Hoda does offer to shave off the hair on those areas to treat. Razors are clean and disposable. Price: The cost of her services are manageable and much more affordable than other like competitors that offer similar services, such as laser hair removal. Aside from Groupon, she openly offers the same promotion in her clinic. I have three small areas to be treated by Hoda. During your appointment, you can either bring a print version of your groupon or present it from your phone, where she can scan the barcode. Please keep in mind that you have to pay for taxes during your visit. Don't forget to tip!* Location: Karisma MediSpa is located near McCowan/Ellesmere; minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre and the McCowan RT station. During weekends, there are certain procedures to enter the building, and that information can be obtained from Hoda. It's very easy finding the building; it is on the North side of St. Louis Bar and Grill. The clinic is located on the 7th floor. If you are taking the TTC; you can either exit from the mall from the Cineplex side and walk past the YMCA (3min) or exit from the McCowan RT station (3-4min). Technician seemed put out by the request. When I went to get my coat that had been hanging nearby, there was gel all over it. WTF? I was also informed that the package would be nonrefundable. I agreed and purchased the package. Some days later during the 1st procedure I was asked if any of the hair being lasered were blond or white! I informed her yes. She then informed me that laser would not work on white or blond hair. I was shocked and asked her why she did not inform me of this during the initial consultation and she replied that she didn't think the question was polite! However, it was polite to ask that very question during the 1st procedure!! After several days of feeling quite cheated I contacted Mint Laser to discuss the issue. I spoke to Alexandra, the owner who informed me that the package was non-refundable but I was welcome to use it for some other service. I informed her that I did not want any other service and because I was misled would prefer a refund. She hung up on me! I later wrote Mint laser looking for a favorable outcome however I never got one. Eventually, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau who contacted Mint laser however their response was the same: she purchased a non-refundable package. I pointed out that this was not the reason why I was disputing the purchased but the fact that I was misled into purchasing a package that would not work for me. Eventually, Mint laser refused to respond to the BBB and therefore the case was closed. The case is now with Consumer Protection. Stay tuned.....

Her service is really quick and she tries her best to distract you from the fact that she is waxing you and make the experience more tolerable. Will definitely be back, she is super sweet and kind and her work is clean and thorough as well. Here's what I like about New Skin: 1) Effective laser - I have tried 3-4 different lasers in the past and have had little to no success (I have have medium-dark skin with very dark hair). They are always making sure that you are comfortable and that you're not in any pain. Other places I've been make me feel really rushed and unimportant (especially when you use a Groupon like I did), but these guys are great! 3) No trouble getting in touch to book an appointment - Really easy to get an appointment, they will always get back to you. I've heard horror stories about places that sell tons of Groupons and then don't respond to phone calls. This is not that kind of place. 4) Virtually pain free - Overall the treatment is very comfortable, and since this is the type of laser that they keep in constant movement, you don't get that one 'flash' of pain. It just feels warm over your skin, and they will always ask if it's too warm for you and make adjustments if necessary. I left not knowing what the results should look and feel like, but now that I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian sugars done (with another business), I can confirm that my experience with Sugar Me Spa was not great. I still had a lot of hair that hadn't been "pulled" out by the sugar, but I thought that's how Brazilian waxes were as it was my first time receiving one. It looked like I had shaved quickly and didn't bother to go over a second time to get all the remaining hairs. It didn't bother me as I trusted the process and was planning to book with Sugar Me Spa again once time came. Their online booking was extremely inaccurate in regards to the times and/or dates available for services. I booked my second appointment, only to be texted that the establishment was closed during the time slot I had chosen and I had reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule, so I cancelled it instead. I booked another appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne as I already dealt with her my first time around), through the same online system. I received another text a week before my appointment stating Jasmyne was not working during the date and time I had chosen. I was offered different dates and times to reschedule, however, time was too tight to reschedule. I asked if another aesthetician could provide the service, to no avail. I rescheduled my appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne) in August 2019, only to be texted that Jasmyne couldn't make it to work and was asked to reschedule again... Overall, over a span of 4 months, I went once with mediocre results. Their appointment booking service is extremely hectic and inconsistent.
