I have been to places that look nicer- it has more of a bare bones clinical feel than one of those spa like environments but I imagine as business grows that stuff will come. As a newer business, the priority seems to be on providing what is needed for delivering a proper technical service as priority, which I can't fault. My wax service itself was excellent. Walking in was the smell of disinfectant and looking around it seemed really clean and sanitized practices. I love that she used hard wax. I find that a rarity and but my wax was so clean. I didn't really notice the pain or discomfort since it was so minimal compared to other waxing I've done. Even as it grew back in I had no ingrown hairs and I swear it grew back slower. Waxing is incredibly tricky with black skin as the hair is coarser and ingrown hairs and hyperpigmentation are a concern. So if you can wax black hair well you can wax any hair well. I have had waxing done for over a decade at various establishments but here I really saw the difference highly skilled and knowledgeable specialist makes here.

She then told me a Brazilian is $40... I only got a Brazilian that time and paid $45. I respect Lynn and for what she does, but I too deserve the same respect. Great for first timers! Vashti was able to squeeze me in same day, and did exactly what I asked for. She took a quarter of an inch off the ends and layered the front with a thick face frame (love this, I absolutely despise thinning shears). she was very detailed and made sure i was happy before i got out of the chair and once I was, we settled up. I didn't get a blow dry as I worked from home so didn't need a style done, but i trust she does a great job! The shop is a small one in the Markham and Steeles plaza with ample parking. Very accommodating, skilled hairdresser, and she offers other services like colouring, waxing, threading. Honestly such a great experience, this will be my new go to for my trims! I left not knowing what the results should look and feel like, but now that I've gotten a bunch of Brazilian sugars done (with another business), I can confirm that my experience with Sugar Me Spa was not great. I still had a lot of hair that hadn't been "pulled" out by the sugar, but I thought that's how Brazilian waxes were as it was my first time receiving one. It looked like I had shaved quickly and didn't bother to go over a second time to get all the remaining hairs. It didn't bother me as I trusted the process and was planning to book with Sugar Me Spa again once time came. Their online booking was extremely inaccurate in regards to the times and/or dates available for services. I booked my second appointment, only to be texted that the establishment was closed during the time slot I had chosen and I had reschedule. I wasn't able to reschedule, so I cancelled it instead. I booked another appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne as I already dealt with her my first time around), through the same online system. I received another text a week before my appointment stating Jasmyne was not working during the date and time I had chosen. I was offered different dates and times to reschedule, however, time was too tight to reschedule. I asked if another aesthetician could provide the service, to no avail. I rescheduled my appointment 1 month later (with Jasmyne) in August 2019, only to be texted that Jasmyne couldn't make it to work and was asked to reschedule again... Overall, over a span of 4 months, I went once with mediocre results. Their appointment booking service is extremely hectic and inconsistent.
