Loved my stay at the peaks resort and spa!…read more The staff are amazing from valeting your car, taking all your bags up to your room and ski equipment down to the ski valet. If you're looking for a 5 star resort with the literally the best spa in south west Colorado, this is it. The steam room, Roman bath, huge workout facility, and showers with eucalyptus scent makes you never want to leave. The ski in/out is just the best being right off 2 different lifts. Really loved the roaring fire and the live music in the lobby to relax. This place is also dog friendly!! So much fun seeing everyone furry family members. I've also stayed in the summer and the access to the golf course is just another huge reason to stay here if you choose MV or Telluride. Can't wait to come back!!

A Huge Disappointment…read more When you are paying a lot of money to stay in a legendary hotel in a ski resort paradise like Telluride, there are certain things you expect. First and foremost is the service and certain amenities like a full service restaurant. Well... no restaurant and paltry breakfast options. Thank heavens for the nearby Black Iron Kitchen And Bar where the food is delicious and the service spectacular (eg Claudia, Curtis, Daniel... everyone there). The service at the Peaks is spotty: excellent concierge, Tenae, Jamie at the front desk, Jared at the bar, snd the entire ski valet service. But first and probably foremost, is the general manager who was nowhere to be found and remiss in his duties. For two consecutive days I tried to reach him to no avail. I wanted to discuss with him the situation for next year because I was considering bringing 6 or more family members back to the resort for a week. Fortunately his bad luck was my good luck. I went over to the Madeline where the service, accommodations, food, location, and amenities are spectacular and made plans with Sam to tentatively book room 433 next spring. I have never written a negative review about a resort hotel - only about ones I truly love. I am making an exception here because the Peaks deserves one.

Well, as karma would have it, we were looking for a place to stay after our Handies hike. Guess what? This wasn't it! And, considering charging apps lead people here with a description of "open 24/7" and "free parking," a very simple solution would be to simply put a prominent sign indicating the chargers are for guests only.

She came and banged on my door that morning never introduced herself to me and told me I was entitled to one spot not six or seven. Then proceeded to walk off again without identifying yourself or even talking to me saying welcome nothing. We booked an extra night because our work over here kept us a little longer than we expected. When I tried speaking to her in her office on Saturday, July 25 to settle up my other extended night she was very rude and would not speak to me. She kept screaming and yelling at me stop stop stop. I can't handle this stop talking stop talking. In my mind, she was acting like a little five year-old, throwing a temper tantrum. Lack of customer service overpriced rooms with zero amenities of any sort and just an overall bad attitude. I do not recommend this place.

We have only stayed in rooms 35 and 37 (better views out of 35 but we liked the quiet of the larger 37 this trip). Rooms have been mostly refurbished (our rooms fridge looked battered but worked great; yes, they have robes) and are generally very clean but on this trip we experienced an issue (discussed below). Not in love with the pricing, which has only gotten higher. Hey, I guess if you can get away with it, go for it. Not at all in love with the money-grab of the parking situation. When we started coming, it was $10/day. Now it's $35. Not in love with the dog-friendly nature of the place (I'm allergic). Supposedly (according to the website and front desk staff) the third floor is off-limits to pets, which should make it a place I can sleep without problems. Well, this time we found the carpet of our third floor suite of rooms was heavily coated with long, white dog hair. I took a Benadryl and mentioned it when we headed down to breakfast the next day and the (thoroughly wonderful) woman staffing the front desk was clearly alarmed and _immediately_ had Housekeeping go vacuum and clean the room; they did a good job which got most (not all) of the hair, so I didn't mention it again. (I do love the responsiveness of the staff, and generally the cleanliness of the room - it's just a problem when there are dogs shedding on carpet). The included breakfast buffet is not what it was: less selection with no more cold meats and cheeses, but still pastries, yogurt, a warm egg dish and warm meats, toasts and hard boiled eggs. Great service by staff in the breakfast room (which moonlights as Cosmopolitan restaurant). Good coffee. So. The unexpected and not entirely removed dog hair - not good. The service was great and generally really welcoming and friendly. Rooms are nice. The location is fantastic. Breakfast is nice, but no longer cartwheel-inspiring. Pricing is high - but look where you are. However, parking is - no other way to say it - a ripoff and kind of an insult. Overall, I guess it's a 4 out of 5 . . . but it's sure not the hip-hip-hooray five stars that I always gave it before I delete my last Yelp account.

We chose it because it is right across the street from a lift and the gondola and has suites with large outdoor decks and hot tubs. Our experience could not have been better. Every single employee we interacted with, from the front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning and maintenance staff were friendly and professional. Our room (25 & 26) was large and exactly as advertised. They combined two rooms to make a really nice suite, with a fireplace in the living room. The deck was spacious and looked out over the area by the lift and gondola. The view was so-so as there are buildings on every side, but it worked well for us. We enjoyed the hot tub each evening. It was very clean and held a steady 103 while we were using it, despite the outside temperature being in the low teens. Their ski locker room is clean and well organized, with a separate entrance/exit that let's you avoid walking through the lobby in your gear. The complementary breakfast each morning was fairly basic, but was more than enough to get us going for the day. The waitstaff kept the coffee flowing, which we really appreciated. We had a small mechanical problem with our room when we arrived, and they handled it immediately. The room price is what you should expect for a large suite in a boutique hotel in a ski town that is literally steps from the lifts and gondola. Although pricey, I believe if offered great value for what we got from the experience. Highly recommend.

Plenty of fun runs, and a decent amount of high speed lifts. The layout is a bit funky with some solid traversing and long runouts but overall still a good spot. We stayed in the village. Not much food that I know of in the village so we are down in the town of Durango. Had free days from a season pass from a partner resort so used those to my advantage. Great views and a pretty drive! In the words of the terminator, "I'll be back."

The alpine slide has changed dramatically in the past few years (we used to be able to get buy one get one coupons for 5 bucks here, but now that tickets are $15 each for a single ride... that's a different story). This place comes with so many amenities like clean restrooms/showers, pool on site, fire pit, table, gas station and store for all of your needs. Yes they do sell firewood! They even have jeep rentals too! The gentleman in the store was so kind and helpful with any questions we had. Riverside cabins are near the road but has a beautiful creek nearby and mountains surrounding.

We stayed in the Palomino room. It was a very roomy room with a small kitchenette (microwave and mini fridge) which was plenty since all I had were leftovers. The converted large walk-in closet allowed for plenty of room for everything my beloved cat, Luna. Even though we were on a quiet getaway, when I had to get some work done (boo!) the wi-fi was incredibly fast! The staff was so nice and helpful with local information. We will be back soon!!!!

They also lack the personal attention we get at Lumiere. The location is perfect, one of the only truly ski-in ski-out condos in Mountain Village.
