Visited this place back in September/October when the leaves were changing colors. These little cabins were affordable and made our trip to Ouray amazing regardless of mixed reviews. This place comes with so many amenities like clean restrooms/showers, pool on site, fire pit, table, gas station and store for all of your needs. Yes they do sell firewood! They even have jeep rentals too! The gentleman in the store was so kind and helpful with any questions we had. Gorgeous waterfront trail to walk to town or further on to Ouray Waterfalls. The Smokehouse as delicious after a long day driving. We opted to stay 2 nights to enjoy the area. Laundry onsite a little pricey but guess that's the going rate, I haven't had to use laundry in a few years. We opted for the upgraded river front and literally didn't hear vehicles until 8 am off the road. Our neighbors opted to do the more strenuous Crystal Falls hike which they said was gorgeous and a bear had been sighted there that morning. read more

We highly recommend this spot. We're a family of four that travelled to the Ouray area for the first time. We stayed in one of their creek side cabins for two nights and can say that the place far exceeded our expectations. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. It was fully stocked with everything we needed and everything worked. The shower was nice and there was enough hot water for all four of us. The kids really enjoyed sleeping in the loft area. It's also very near the downtown and the hot springs. If your intention is to find a reasonably affordable place that is authentic and close to nature but also comfortable, clean, and not scummy, this is definitely a great option. read more

I found this little gem several months ago on Yelp and planned to stay here a couple nights on our two week motorcycle trip. We booked the Black Bear cabin even though there was only two of us. We weren't disappointed in its charm. It's roomy, very clean, right on the mountain stream and had a bathroom and kitchenette. Loved it. Except the bed is quite hard as is the sofa but other than that a perfect quaint cabin. Delightful camper cabins. I would only stay in cabins 1-5 because the little back yard behind them faces a lovely bubbling river and walking trail that leads into town, fire-grates and picnic tables. The log-cabin style camper-cabins are very small with one bunk bed, two tiny shelves then one full size bed. No kitchen or bathroom. Primitive and quaint. No linens, so bring your own or bring a sleeping bag. If there's two kids and parents, it might be too cramped, but for just two adults it's perfect. I slept soundly due to the babbling brook immediately behind the cabins, so soothing. The first night, I slept on the bunk bed which was comfy then the second night, I traded my roomie for the double bed, but it hurt my back and didn't have the best support. The best part of staying here, is you can walk the trail behind the cabins and be in town in 15 minutes, which is nice if you plan on having a few beers and don't want to drive. The owner is around a lot, and that always speaks highly, I think. He sells jerky, chips, ice cream, cute gift items like cute coffee mugs for a reasonable price. I will stay here again for sure. You also get free coffee in the morning, and there is a hot tub on the premise, so nice for adults. I didn't see any playground for kids--it's more of an adult-oriented place. read more

Ouray is a delightful little town and this was a delightful little cabin. Stayed in camper cabin #1 which backed up to the river. A set of bunk beds and a full bed was plenty of room for our family. Nice swing and unique chair made of skis on the front porch served as the "living area". Electrical outlets appreciated!! Everything was very clean! The bath house was key entry only and was surprisingly clean. This was an alternative to tent camping for us so we were equipped with sheets and towels... which I think can be rented if needed. Didn't use the laundry room, but this would have come in really handy if it was a later stop on our road trip. A BBQ grill and picnic table behind the cabin were great for our hobo pie breakfast. Close to town and very convenient. read more

Our stay was so much fun in the Blackbear cabin. It was super clean and cozy. Although it was probably around 300 sq feet (my estimation), we were able to accommodate 3 small kiddos and 4 adults. The kids loved playing in the loft. The river was right outside the front porch. It was great to be able to have a kitchen (no oven in this unit) and Ouray coffee was served in the long not too far from the cabin. We will definitely return! read more

TAKE PHOTO PROOF OF THE QUALITY OF YOUR CABIN. Because, this company may try to take advantage of you. We were accused of our dog leaving scratch marks in the cabin despite her being under our supervision at ALL times while at the cabin. She was left unattended for a 40 minute period when we went into town and she was in her crate the whole 40 minutes, per the cabins policy. We were then accused of her not being in her crate when there were complaints of our dog barking in the cabin. We returned within 7 minutes of being called. When we returned, we showed them photo proof of the crate being in the cabin and the manager refused to truly look at the photo but said "you dont need to show me that, i believe you" then, I apologized for the disturbance my dog caused because I understand people are here to relax. Once we left the resort, we received a message from the general manager saying we wont be receiving our deposit back and there may be more charges due to damages in the cabin. In this message, we were accused of not having our dog in the crate, once again. The charges ending up conveniently being the exact same amount as the $100 pet deposit. Also, be aware that they charge for the pet fee in person with your credit card which results in making it harder for Airbnb to step in. So we were stuck paying $100 for scratches that were already there prior to our arrival. I also found another review not even 2 months ago on one of their other cabins, claiming the staff was very accusatory towards him about having a pet when he didnt have one, resulting in him being asked to pay a pet fee. There is 100% something schemy going on at Ouray Riverside Resort. Whether it be Amber herself or her staff. We are very disappointed with the way we were treated by the managment at this stay. If you stay in cabin #5 and there are still damages, please report this to air bnb. I truly hope my $100 goes towards fixing the door that someone else's dog damaged. One other complaint, which is super small, but just adds to the bad experience, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. I hesitated even submitted this review, because after reading some of their responses to other negative reviews, they respond with even more accusations. I know we did absolutely nothing wrong and will not lose any sleep over this situation. I just hope this brings a stop to whatever is going on here and that no other guest is accused or taken advantaged of. read more

We stayed here for many years, to come down and ice climb. Everyone who works here is so friendly, accommodating and helpful. It has a beautiful view of you can get a south facing room. The cabins are quaint, but I wouldn't want to stay in them during the winter and have to walk out to the bathroom/showers. The lobby is nice: paired with a gas station. And they have dog friendly rooms, as well as a hot tub for guests. The only downside is that we never slept very well here, and that's nothing they can control. They're on the edge of town where trucks either start braking to roll in to town, or speed up on their way out. So it can be noisy with traffic at night if you're a light sleeper in a room on the east side. I think it'd be a great place to stay in the summer, and would love to check out the cabins. read more

Have stayed here multiple times while visiting Ouray. The rooms are very clean and the staff is always very friendly. It can be a bit noisy at times when motorcycles start up in the morning or come in late at night....and if someone is outside your door, you can hear their entire conversation, but it has never been a real issue. We have always stayed in the rooms, but may plan ahead in the future to stay in one of the cabins. Don't miss the Uncompadhgre River Walk that is right behind the cabins. It is an easy 2 mile loop. We walked it each morning and evening. We also walked to town via the trail. We most certainly will return here when we visit Ouray. read more

We stayed here for 10 days. The place is extremely clean, owners and help are very friendly and the food at the restaurant is awesome! By bucks for breakfast hits the spot! Their spots are level with full hook up. There is a mile and a half walking paths around and over the river. Great place to stay! We will definitely be coming back here! read more

For cheap accommodations, this is exactly what it should be! We stayed in a camper cabin - a full-sized bed and then twin bunk-beds. Aside from two short benches, that's all that fits inside the camper cabins, but what more do you need for $50? There's a shared bathhouse steps away, the views from the property are amazing, and the staff are wonderful. They put out hot water and coffee in the morning, with lots of instant hot cocoa and cider. The cabins are right along the river and there's a nice walking trail to follow. One downside was the noise level at night. We had a bunch of ice climbers staying up late and laughing and having fun in the hot tub. The cabin walls were more soundproof than we thought they'd be, but we could still hear the fun. No huge deal - earphones and NyQuil fixed it for me ;) You can bring a dog for an extra $15 I believe, and you can rent linens for $5 per bed. Both of those charges are flat rate, regardless how long you stay. And don't forget that you get half off at the main hot springs in town (although we decided to go to the Wiesbaden instead for a less amusement park-ey afternoon.) It's easy to find when you realize it's attached to the 2nd gas station north of the town. It's a 4 minute drive in to the town center, so super convenient. I'll definitely be back this summer for some inexpensive accommodation for me and my dog when we go to climb Uncompaghre and Handies! read more

My wife and I stayed here on out last night in Ouray. We had spend the previous part of the week at one of the hot spring lodges in town. At Riverside, my last minute reservation was handled quickly. My wife and I found the bed to be far more comfortable and the rooms much more generous in size and climate control, even with it being an economy room. The guests who stay here seem to be repeat customers over many seasons and have only had nice things to say. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the front desk did not have any plastic flatware available for guests. All in all, great value and location close to, but away from from the "hustle and bustle" of Ouray during the ice fest. A moderate Riverwalk or short drive to the hot springs down the road. GROSS, DISGUSTING...NEVER AGAIN! Found an open condom wrapper under the bed after our first night in the room. Found its used other part in an open trash can! Told the front desk and the staff was unapolegetic and seemed unconcerned, almost rudely said "okay, i'll tell somebody". We returned to the room at 4pm that afternoon and the room had not been cleaned, beds not made, wet towles on the floor, and yep...that gross thing in the trashcan was still there. But they took the time to remove the wrapper. Asked the front desk when housekeeping would be by and was told they were done for the day and we would need to wait until the next day for anything to be done! We were forced to stay another night in that gross room. We had paid for a 4 day getaway and checked out this morning, two days early and will NEVER BE BACK. If you are looking for a fun, friendly and clean place to stay in Ouray, steer clear of this bordello! read more

Beware of this place we called to book a reservation a day before my b-day weekend l. Decided we wanted something else called to cancelle and they want to throw around "special offers" we still decline. They call again with more offers. Still decline then they charge my card anyway. I called the rude desk girl in the am all they want to say is that's a cancellation fee for the rental. That has to cancel before 72 hrs when my reservation was less than 24hrs before we were supposed to be there. You shouldn't have to settle for this so my bank has my claim you can check there polices online where nothing is specified. They will keep calling to get you specials but they want to get you closet to your time so they can charge you regardless. (BEWARE) read more

Stayed in a room with a single queen this past weekend. Very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the our room and the property. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Drove up to Ouray to hike the Perimeter trail. Just needed a place to camp out. The cabin was perfect for that. Very friendly and helpful staff. The cabins have a nice firepit, and you can buy bundles of wood there, but we didn't have anything to start a fire with. They loaned us their lighter fluid and a lighter. Highly recommend if this is the type of lodging you are looking for. Already booked again for next week! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I am only giving a review of the car wash attached to this facility. Do not waste your money. There is allot of pressure but the soap won't even take thin dust off or even get the bugs off your windshield. Would it hurt you guys to installs brush. But, then again you are the only car wash in town so no competition means no service. You might as well just wash you car by hand with a rag. Next time I will just drive to Montrose. PS. Love this place. Have been staying here for years. The stand alone cabins are a great deal, and allow pets. The two outdoor hot tubs are private and nice after a long day of ice climbing. We paid a lot of money for our room. It was our anniversary and we were looking forward to a break from our 4 kids. After a day of exploring, we came back to a room that hadn't been touched by housekeeping. I told the general manager and he replaced our towels. I tried to explain that it would be nice to have the bed made, bathroom touched up, trash taken out, etc. The best he could do was tell housekeeping when we check out. Funny that their pictures don't show that 1) they have gas pumps 5 feet from the registration desk (that is attached to the hotel) and 2) that they are feet from the one road into town. If these are negatives for you, keep this in mind. Next, my traveling companion was ill, so we decided to keep going on our trip instead of staying in Ouray. I stopping into the front desk, saw for myself what is described above, and pleaded my case. The front desk guy told me he could not cancel the rez; fair enough I made it on bookings.com. I returned to the car to cancel online; bookings/com told me I would be charged one night of a 2 night rez, but that through them I could ask Riverside Inn and Cabins to waive the $105 fee for cancelling. I made the ask and returned to the front desk. The front desk guy called the owner, explained that I had a sick friend with me and then the owner (wait for it) refused to waive the fee. Get place to stay! We stayed in a camper cabin. We loved it because it gave a little more shelter since it is beginning to freeze at night. It definitely exceeded my expectations from when we booked! Repulsed by the new management and the devised plan of destruction of the employees lives. When we first found this place it was an amazing experience created by the employees. A new management took over and brought with it a very negative energy. We began to notice the change of demeanor and integrity. The rooms are not taken care of well. the parking is terrible, fans don't work, heaters didn't work, etc. The feeling of family became the feeling of you are a bitch and I am the manager. The new manager will not engage in conversation or say hello as he walks around with his head down and no eye contact. His apparent character (lack of) does not reach the bar the previous employees held. It is so sad to witness corrupt intention running over the top of good. We will never stay there again. I will always choose to support good hearts, family inspired values, integrity filled business...............this hotel no longer upholds those qualities......thus the negatives of the rooms now stand out more and I know there are much nicer places in Ouray we have stayed at better price. read more
