We had a wedding there this weekend. Where can I begin. Amazing venue. Amazing service. Our planner Zara was great. Our bridal person Jamie was top notch. Can't even begin to say thank you to how great she was. The entire staff was amazing. Junior taking care of us was amazing. But an extra above and beyond goes to Anthony our Matore 'd. I've hosted and held many events. Anthony went above and beyond. The quality substance of the event would have been enough but Anthony's attention to detail and ability for dealing with people and still making sure the people who mattered most enjoyed is why the Rockleigh isn't 5 stars it's 6.

I attended a wedding here and the venue was spectacular. There were a number of water fountains and gardens present throughout the exterior. The service was solid after the cocktail hour. Regarding the cocktail hour, there was tons of food ranging from tacos to a raw bar to sliders to a pasta bar. My favorite were probably the sliders. The food as a whole was okay. The jambalaya portion was not great, seemed a little off to me and the penne vodka had string beans or asparagus, which was a little odd. The oysters and seafood salad were fresh as well as the fruit salad. Overall, the food at the cocktail hour was decent. For a starter at the actual reception, the mozzarella, mushroom, and tomato salad were presented. The presentation was wonderful, and the taste was very good. For an entrée, the filet mignon was ordered. It came with a reduction of madeira wine, shallots, and truffles. The steak was ordered medium and it was cooked a little longer, but not a big deal. It was tasty regardless. For dessert, there was the cake and a Viennese table. The cake was very moist. The icing was a little underwhelming, but overall, solid. The Viennese table was unbelievable. There was an ice cream bar, pies, rice krispies, 2 fondue sets, etc. There was just a ton available here. Will I go back? Definitely.

Omg! This place is stunning! From the outside beauty to the top shelf spread! Absolutely a place to host a wedding! Absolutely stunning! Was there for my cousin's wedding and it blew me away!

The Place is absolutely stunning. There is not one bad thing to say about The Rockleigh Country Club. Words cannot describe the amazingness of this place. The venue was outstanding, elegant and photogenic. My sister got married here and she was very happy. They were very organized and made my sister feel like a princess on her wedding day. Its a beautiful venue with gardens, fountains, and other backgrounds that are great in photos. The surroundings are beautiful, the building on this property are also gorgeous, and service is topnotch. Antonio - he was fab and always ready to help. He made sure we do not face any hiccups here. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. They were organized, even-keeled and accommodating. They made sure that the bride was happy and not stressed, and they made sure guests enjoyed themselves And did I mention their valet service. It was top notch. Always available and courteous. The Rockleigh is a well-oiled machine and from the ceremony through reception, everything flowed perfectly. If you live in the tristate area on the east coast - - SERIOUSLY give this place consideration.

I attended a wedding here and my gosh, that entire place is elegant. I feel like our wedding that we attended was probably the best platinum plan a couple could order. Extravagant and ridiculously large amounts of food, apps, cocktails.

Nice but gross out at the same time

So I came here for a wedding and I had a hairs on my plate and I saw a female waiters with their hair touching the plate with the food , I was gross out seen that . I think they should cover there hair FYI

Beautiful place for a wedding especially for an outdoor one. Very luxurious. Food here was amazing and loved the variety.

They made a lovely vegetarian dish especially for me. Some places give vegetarian/vegans horrible dishes of plain pasta or plain salad. This place tried & it was appreciated. Everyone else at my table raved about their dishes too. The service was excellent as well. Beautiful & clean party rooms.

Recently attended my friend's wedding at this beautiful venue. The service staff were fantastic, the food was exquisite, the scenic views on their 12 acre property was brilliant and overall atmosphere was welcoming and warm. The Rockleigh ties in elements of classic elegance and modern amenities suited for todays demands and luxuries.

Sunday manager and staff pulling up the carpet and removing furniture in our event space in midst of event.

WATCH OUT for the B team on Sunday afternoon. Organized a 50th Wedding Anniversary for family this past weekend. Lovely decor, ice sculptures, wide variety and elegant array of tasty selections at the carving station, seafood table, cheese corner and vodka shot bar for cocktail hour. Solid main course and passable dessert- cake would have been best if completely cooked through without the half baked segments. All that aside, we were enjoying the event and then completely surprised at the removal of furniture with workmen pulling up parts of the carpet by the event main bar- DURING the middle of our celebration of the event, IN FULL VIEW of our guests. Really?!? How is this professional? This section of space was included for use during our event and we could not fathom why seats and tables were being taken away, leaving our guests fresh from the main bar with drinks in hand, looking to sit but left standing in confusion while we apologized and looked for the manager in charge. My Husband spoke with the manager who apologized. He had the workers flip back into place the carpet segments that had been torn up from the floor and replace tables and chairs for use. The bar staff who we had been receiving heavy tips from guests and family, looked on with shocked expressions. They seemed to be the only staff fazed. The rest of the staff had gone along with the furniture removal and pulling up of the carpet. After the event, my Husband asked me about the rest area servicing during the event, as he had used the mens rest room upon arrival and it smelled like an elevator with five guys all on a high-protein diet. I mentioned that the ladies room had definitely been serviced during the event but hadn't noticed the mens, which he said still smelled revolting on his stop before leaving as it had earlier that day. Perhaps men are just scarier in the rest area but given the flagrantly unsuitable management we had witnessed by the main bar, behind closed doors would likely match.

We had my brothers wedding here and the services were amazing... so many waiters to help with everything, the place was breathtaking and every corner you wanted to take a picture in front of. They even set up a prayer room since we are Muslim. They had suites ready for the bride and her family. Had some drinks and appetizers upon arrival for the family. We had a menu of fish, steak, or chicken. I got the fish and I finished my entire plate! It was very delicious and I don't say that often about wedding venue foods, they served a salad that everyone loved and overall I would definitely recommend to book here! One of my favorite venues by far!

    The beautiful foyer.

Classy Place tucked in the wooded area of North Jersey! Went here for a wedding. The place is really in the cut, practically in upstate NY! But what a place! The front entrance has a beautiful foyer that is timeless and classic. They cocktail hour room was held in one of their smaller rooms. The food was pretty delicious and the staff was friendly and nice. I really enjoyed the pasta stations and the sushi! The ballroom was just as classy as the foyer and was beautifully decorated. Lots of crystal and lights! Very pretty. The couple had slightly over 100 guests and it didn't feel too big or too small. They had room for a photobooth in the corner of the room. I had a vegetarian option and when I didn't finish my meal, I was able to take it home! Sweet! We had a great time dancing and partying with all our friends. Such a great place! Wish it was closer to home!

My name is Sam, and my wife Amanda and I spent a long time searching for a venue that felt elegant but still warm and personal--and the Manor delivered on every level. From the very beginning, the experience was seamless. The staff was incredibly organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day special. Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but they guided us through every step with patience and clarity. No question felt too small, and no request felt like a burden. That kind of support made a huge difference for us. The venue itself is stunning. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the manor has this timeless, classic charm that makes everything feel elevated without being stuffy. Our ceremony was held outdoors, and even in early April, the setting felt magical. The landscaping created the perfect backdrop for photos--honestly, we barely had to "pose" because every angle looked incredible. Inside, the reception space was just as impressive. The room felt spacious but still intimate, and everything flowed perfectly--from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. The staff coordinated everything so smoothly that Amanda and I were actually able to relax and enjoy the night instead of worrying about logistics. One thing that really stood out was the food. We had heard good things beforehand, but it exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. From the cocktail hour selections to the main courses, everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They were also very accommodating with dietary needs, which was important to us. If I could give one piece of advice to future brides and grooms, it would be this: trust the team at Old Tappan Manor. They know exactly what they're doing. We came in with a vision, but they elevated it in ways we didn't even think of. Let them guide you--it will take so much stress off your shoulders. Also, take time on the day to really soak it in. The setting, the atmosphere, the way everything comes together--it goes by quickly, but it's unforgettable. Amanda and I both had moments where we just looked around and thought, "This is perfect," and that's something we'll carry with us forever. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to start our marriage. If you're considering Old Tappan Manor, don't hesitate. It's not just a beautiful venue--it's a team that cares deeply about making your day everything it should be. --Sam & Amanda

Valet parking and the car was returned in the same condition we left it. The service was friendly and professional. A clear sign of excellent training was when I approached a server at the cocktail reception to inquire about my allium allergies, she immediately brought the banquet, maître D to discuss the options for me. It was clear that the allergy was not communicated to the establishment or within the establishment. Nonetheless, the concern was handled with care and thoughtful professionalism. The options that were still available to me or communicate communicated, and I had a wonderful meal. The grounds and garden are well designed for outdoor services. In this case, an outdoor wedding. Chairs were comfortable, and the fountain in the background created a lovely atmosphere and photo opportunity. The one critique I have is that no covering such as a gazebo or tent, was insight and thunderstorms were eminent. If I could recommend anything to the management, it would be to have this option on hand to avoid distractions from the actual ceremony. When thunder crackled in the background, we secretly hoped that the service would come to an end in time. Everyone was dressed in evening attire, so a gazebo or tent would have been appreciated. We were not inside more than 15 minutes when the skies did open up. Catastrophe averted. With the exception of one server who spilled wine on my son's newly pressed shirt, Service was meticulous. In the case of the red wine incident, this could have been averted by wrapping the wine bottle appropriately in a service linen. A little more training in this area would be recommend recommended. All in all, a solid four star event. The filet mignon, French green beans, and magnificent desserts were a five star Cleverly, our hosts prepared and end to the night with a coffee station and Donuts cleverly hanging on Hooks. The donuts were exceptional. It's difficult to rate without knowing the cost per person so I am limiting my rankings beginning with a five star and deducting minimally for a couple of challenges in service. The banquet maître D was exceptional.

The American Revolution played out along the Hudson's banks--from the first riots protesting the British Quartering Act on Golden Hill in Lower Manhattan to the chaining of the Hudson and Benedict Arnold's attempted betrayal of West Point in the Highlands. Just north of the New Jersey border, Tappan, derived from a Lenape Indian word thought to mean "cold water," has the oldest surviving building in Rockland County. The DeWint House, owned by Patriot Johannes DeWint, holds a special place in American history as it served as a temporary headquarters for George Washington during the American Revolution. Washington was a guest of the house twice in 1780 and twice in 1783. It was here that Washington signed the death warrant of British Major John Andre, a spy who conspired with American General Benedict Arnold to betray West Point. Upon arrival as first-timers yesterday, my partner and I were the only vehicle in the spacious parking lot. The house built using brick and indigenous stone is a prime example of Hudson Valley Dutch Colonial architecture, showcasing the unique blend of Dutch and American styles that were prevalent during the colonial period. The house's bottom floor (the top floor is off-limits) houses the North and South Rooms. The South Room was where Washington and his staff resided. The North Room was where work was done, especially with regard to the trial and execution of Andre. The rooms are both open to the public for viewing through glass partitions. Period furniture, bedding, and desks are among the items one sees. An adjacent 19th-century carriage house contains displays of artifacts uncovered at the site during archaeological digs. With Fink's BBQ now closed for good…read morein Suffern, I've been aching for a local Rockland joint with solid BBQ to visit time and time again. I admit that my disappointment may be weighing on my rating, but let me get this out of the way: Country music? Sure. It's BBQ. That's standard. But having Fox News on both downstairs TV? A very poor precedent to play politics in the area that guests first walk into. Most restaurants with TVs will play sports. Upstairs, they at least were showing Food Network, and that is also fine. Politics is an immediate 1.5 star deduction, and I noticed 13 stars on the menu that indicated this is a recurring theme, not just an error by the waitstaff. I'll also note the waitstaff... well, the one girl who greeted us as first was not the best. She had very little to say, so I asked about upstairs vs. downstairs and she said we could pick. We picked upstairs to get away from the door and the politics, and while that was nice, after bringing us water and taking our order she immediately disappeared and was never seen again. My appetizer came out with the main course, water wasn't going to be refilled unless I shouted down the stairs... very poor start. Fortunately, this was made up by the nice guy (24 years old I think?) who served our food and tended to us the rest of the night. Maybe he could sense the peeve. Maybe he fired her on the spot and took over. But he was very personable, visited frequently to see how we were doing and what we needed, chatted up quite a bit about the food and the restaurant and himself. Great guy, so service is a "push". Other than the music, the ambiance is... interesting. Upstairs is nice and cozy, and there are two sets of stairs leading up to it, one behind the other. Strange. They're both open stairs, but they look totally different. I asked about that, and the nice guy said that the upstairs actually spans two neighboring businesses. Which doesn't quite explain the double staircase but was still interesting to hear about. There are also catered events up there, since this place is first and foremost a catering establishment. He showed us the catering menu, and it's quite a bit more expansive than the regular menu. But no desserts on them, except for special times like Thanksgiving and Christmas, since the owner gets exhausted baking desserts (I'm told). And with all that, we get to the food... First, I tried the sauces. Only two options, neither has heat. Their standard sauce is the darker, redder of the two, tomato based NY-style. The lighter (orange from the outside) is their custom sauce that is apparently Carolina themed with mustard included. I would not call it Southern, as it is rather over-sugared for Carolina BBQ. Second, the wait for the meals was so long, I almost left. It was at least 30 minutes and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Any good BBQ place is doing enough business to have meat at the ready and dishes to prepare and send out. I can finally report that once the food did arrive, it was very good overall. The quesadilla was a little imbalanced - parts were too much cheese and not enough meat. My corn souffle appetizer was delicious, but not Southern in how it came across - too dense and squishy. Southern style is a little softer and puffier. My ribs were tasty but not fall-off-the-bone tender. They were cooked neither low nor slow enough, which makes me think they were not left cooking overnight but rather partially cooked (at best) and completed when I ordered. Which is not right for BBQ. As far as the sides, cole slaw was nothing special. The homemade dill pickles that came with the quesadilla are actually really good! I'm not a dill guy normally. Finally, the potato salad was interesting. Not sure if that counts as a hit or a miss, as the bacon was too crunchy (I can't believe I'm hating on bacon) and the texture threw off the overall impression. Because the waiter who took over was so nice, I ordered dessert. The whipped cream pie is really good, I just wish it wasn't so small for the money, but homemade has its cost and I respect that. Order the $30 pie while it's on the Thanksgiving catering menu! In the end, I'm balancing a lot. Food that would get at least 4 stars by itself, and could be higher with a repeat visit. Both 5 star service and 1 star service. 4 star atmosphere upstairs, 1 star downstairs. That's fifteen stars total, divided by five numbers, so I hereby award 3 stars and will continue to look for a Fink's replacement I can truly enjoy.

Tried NoCo Joe's in Piermont twice. Both times I was very satified with the food. We tried four…read moredifferent dishes and all were very good. We had tried to visit the restaurant on two other occasions during regular weekend business hours, but it was closed to the public for private parties. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not well managed, so the service was poor. On the first visit, we waited quite a while for our food. On the second visit we ordered just appetizers and, again, we waited 20+ minutes, only to get the wrong food and, rather than wait, we ate it, but the food was very good. While we were waiting for our food, we witnessed waitresses carruing food to serve outside seating, and watched them return inside with the food several times, which indicates confused service management bad training. When I got the check, I noticed they charged $11 for a Guinness - pretty expensive for a beer in the suburbs.. We will try it again to see if the service improves,
