Make your reservation in advance for sunset times. If you can request the table by the fire pit, the view is IG worthy but be warned, everyone will be trying to take Pics near your table. The atmosphere overall is amazing, the drinks are delicious and staff is friendly. They have a dj in the evening and it adds to the overall vibe. The food is tapas style so I just had some tiny tacos which were just ok. The views are what you're paying for and it's definitely worth it. Total date night spot.
Came to the rooftop each night of my stay to have a few drinks and listen to live music. There are several booths, high tops, and a bar you can stand or sit at; plenty of seating, including some around a fire pit (make a reservation). The staff was very accommodating and gave all guests that were cold a blanket to use as a shawl around their shoulders. For dinner, I ordered the prime beef burger and was pleasantly surprised. GREAT burger (I wrote it off before I even ordered it, since I was in Mexico, but it was way better than several American burgers I've had). Drinks were a little overpriced (beware if you order any sort of champagne). Really enjoyed the vibe on the rooftop!! Gorgeous views too, so consider coming up at sunset for some pretty pictures.
Some of the most incredible views in Cabo, of the ocean, the beach, and even the Arco in the distance. Very hip spot w/ delicious hand crafted cocktails, served with beautiful presentation. Nice assortment of small plates, too (chips and salsa w/ guacamole, quesadillas, taquitos). Don't traditionally get a burger while in Baja, but hear it's amazing. They also have some tasty deserts - churros w/ a milk butterscotch sauce and pecans, a gluten free double chocolate brownie w/ vanilla ice cream or banana split. Yum! NOTE: You definitely want to make reservations in advance - they book up quickly, especially around sunset.
Most gorgeous rooftop bar ever. The views are stunning, highly recommend going for sunset. Drinks are what you'd expect at this gorgeous hotels rooftop, but the ambience, staff, and views make it worth it. I had the passion sour which was one of the best versions of a whiskey sour I've had, and my mom had the sunset spritz which was delicious and refreshing. Staff was kind, dj played great music that matched the atmosphere perfectly.
You can't beat the view. Period. It has all of the elegance of a high end hotel with the fun ambiance of a casual lounge. Food is delicious, smaller portions but then you can try a lot without getting full. Which is a plus for me. Service is amazing, everyone is super accommodating here and they constantly are checking up to make sure your are happy. Come back here every time we are in Cabo. Which since my in laws live here... is every few months.
Wow this place has THE best views of Cabo San Lucas! You can see the arches and the entire beach/ocean. I definitely suggest going to watch the sunset. It's the perfect spot to take photos, too! My friend recommended that I come to The Rooftop, and I'm so glad I did. We made a reservation and just went for some drinks and dessert because the menu is a bit pricey. I recommend making a reservation. It helps if you have a reservation because if you're not staying at the hotel (like us), it is gated to get in and you have to tell the guard you are going to The Rooftop. I loved the vibes here; they even had a lady singing/DJ-ing some live EDM and she was amazing! The service was friendly and quick. They also gave us blankets because it gets a bit chilly at night. I lovedddd my drink-bitter pina colada (which wasn't bitter at all). I'm gluten-intolerant and was surprised to find that their churros are gluten-free. I ordered them and devoured the whole plate to myself. They came with a caramel dipping sauce too. They also have a gluten-free brownie; will definitely try that next time.
When we went to the Cape Hotel we'd been in Cabo San Lucas staying at an AirBnB for about a week and a half. We're digital nomads and can work from anywhere, so, this isn't vacation: just a different place to work from. However, you want to chill out and have fun every now and then! The entire experience of the Rooftop Bar was pretty great - except for one thing which I'll get to later. When you get to the entrance road, watch for the bug stone plinth that says Thompson Hotel - The Cape and all the restaurants on it. Apple Maps wanted us to turn a bit later and that would have been a mistake. The road down makes it look like you have to snag a parking spot but just keep going - all the way to the first hotel then stay to the right to the gate. You need a reservation to get in and they'll check to make sure you're on this list. Once that's done you can go through the gate. There really isn't any parking. It's all valet. But, you're about to spend over $150 US on drinks and snacks; you can do the valet! The think I love about the bottom floor of The Cape is that it's all open and everywhere has a great view of the bay and the Cabo Arch. If you're a bit early for your reservation, stop and hang out a bit. Or do it after. You can take the first set of elevators or the second. The second allows you to walk through the area and exits you right out at the entrance. We were taken through and had a great table, a high top, right on the glass wall with an amazing view of the bay, the arch, and all the people and boat watching. Our waiter was there right away and got us sorted with waters (bottled) and a couple of drinks. We didn't have anything we didn't like. We also ordered a few small plates and shared them. The portions are not generous, but, you're not really there for dinner. While we were eating a small musical act was setting up. It was a guy on guitar and a young woman with a great signing voice. It was very "lounge-style" but that fit the atmosphere and was really nice. My only complaint is that after desert, when we were ready to leave, our waiter, or anyone, was really had to find. Not sure if it was shift change or what. We ended up flagging down just anyone so we could pay the bill and leave. On the way out we checked out the views from the large area to the east on the top floor and took the east elevators down. Valet had the car out quickly and we left very satisfied.
Gorgeous rooftop panoramic views! This would be a beautiful location for a wedding or special event. The drinks are delicious and the presentation is great for both drinks and food. The margaritas as delicious! We came on a Monday and it was pretty quiet but it is very upscale and I can tell it's a good time when it's busy. Definitely check it out!
Oh the scenesters. The view was everything you have heard and more. We reserved online and were seated immediately upon arrival. The staff were delightful and very attentive from start to finish. We carefully planned our visit for sunset. It did not disappoint. I had their version of the pina colada and it was delicious. Drinks are about $15 USD each. My husband had an aperitif with Aperol and he loved it too. We had nibbles and loved the potatoes and calamari the most. They were about $12-18 each. This is what dreams are made of. There is live music too on Fridays and Saturdays. Plan your next drinks and small plates dinner here. The photos you take will love you for it.
If you are looking for a cool vibe, live entertainment, and an amazing view, look no further. I came for the dessert and ended up staying way longer than I thought I would. It has good vibes, I really enjoyed the live band and the view. Service by Marina was exceptional. Try the brownie, I got it without the ice cream, surprisingly good!
The ambiance was lovely - a nice rooftop bar overlooking the water. The service has flow issues despite it not being busy. We ordered soft shell crab tacos, burger, shrimp and aguachile. The shrimp was the best item of the night. Well balance and flavorful. The burgers and tacos were cold. All of our food came out at once. They said they would send the old plates back to the kitchen to be remade. They held the plates in the warmer and reserved them to us. When we asked about it they claimed they were fresh but the food was cold. The aguachile was inedible and we sent it back but still paid for it (odd). The shrimp was warm and seemed to have gone bad. The drinks in Manta were 10X better than the rooftop despite being on the same property. Overall, there needs to be some reworking of the menu. I'd skip the rooftop if I returned to the property because there are other wonderful options. read more
In the past, they used to fill their drinks to the rim. During my most recent visit I didn't like how my drink was presented. Maybe I got unlucky with the bartender this time around because I couldn't taste much alcohol in the drink either. The ambience and view are both great here, which is why it's difficult to give less than 4 stars. They also have live music on weekends. This time I didn't bother ordering a second drink seeing how they poured the first one. read more

Super friendly staff. Great rooftop view. Wonderful food and drinks. They had an amazing DJ singer when we came. And you must take photos at the corner glass which look at the Cabo Arch. At sunset it's wonderful lighting. Will definitely come back. read more

We came here for drinks and had the Sweet heat & Mezcal Con Tamarindo off their cocktail menu. Drinks were really good and service from Enrique was great. They definitely aren't cheap but the view makes up for it. read more

Overall: If I could give this restaurant and bar more than 5 stars, I would! The entire venue is a must see but The Rooftop at The Cape is simply extraordinary and nothing like anything else in Cabo. Extensive drink options alongside fresh, tasty tapas with a breathtaking view and atmosphere. Paired with great service, this restaurant is premier! Atmosphere: My boyfriend and I made a reservation for 6:00pm, when they opened, and were seated right away. This space does get blasted with sunlight/heat though so our hostess kindly sat us in the shade and let us know we were welcome to move seats once the sun went down. Fortunately, our initial seat was a comfortable low sofa with a great view of El Arco and we felt no need to move. The seating ranged from high tops, fireside chat sofas to more intimate spaces separated by fabric "walls". In addition to food, drinks and views, they have contracted live music each night beginning at 7:00pm. We attended on a Wednesday night which was being performed by a gentleman who played guitar; he plays there weekly. His style of music was romantic, current hits ie Perfect by Ed Sheeran, etc. Service: From start to finish our waitstaff, Sandra and Eder, were phenomenal and attentive. Sandra checked on us the perfect amount. She did not hover but was not absent and put in all our orders correctly and timely. Eder appeared to be more part of the bar staff and made sure our drinks were filled and checked on accordingly. Thank you Sandra and Eder! Drinks: We ordered a couple drinks and then splurged for a bottle of sparkling wine. They offer an extensive wine list, liquor cabinet, cocktails and a smaller selection of local beers that range from light cerveza to IPAs. Food: Once we had sipped our wine and basked in the view, we ordered dinner which consisted of the following: *Tomato burrata salad with marinated artichoke hearts and frisee *Garlic chili roasted potatoes with grilled octopus *Popcorn shrimp with semi sweet palm sugar & Valentina salsa mayo The octopus was by far mine and my boyfriend's favorite dish but overall everything was delicious! read more

The rooftop is a must if you're staying at the Cape or even locally! The views are incredible during sunset. We liked it so much we came back a 2nd night during our stay and ask for the best seat in the house. The workers here are super attentive and there is also live music! read more

This place is great! The drinks are good, the food is good, the service is good and the live music they place is awesome. A great place to watch the sunset and to hang out with your girls or your boys if you're planning a bachelor/ette party. I really liked their simple margarita (served in very pretty stemware) and their octopus was really good too. read more

This is definitely a must when in Cabo! The view at sunset is incredible and breathtaking. Great photo opp. Secondly, their tacos were delish. I had the fish tacos and the flavor was unlike I've ever had before. read more

Came in when the place was empty ask to get a specific seat when 90 percent was empty. They said in it was reserved. When you don't treat people well they won't come back. You would think when you spend 100+ plus you get better service. I like places where they will accommodate customers and not be pretentious. Won't come back or bring my family. Thompson hotels usually don't behave like this read more

Wonderful evening views. Came here around 7p before our reservation below at manta. Were able to get some amazing pictures of my GF and I from another friendly couple. And after a great dinner we decided to come back up and see the night time views. DJ was playing some great music, people dancing. read more
This rooftop restaurant and bar on top of the Cape, A Thompson Hotel had such an amazing view. It was beautiful at sunset. They had a live band performing which made the atmosphere so lively. The drinks were spot on and made to perfection. I loved the "just dessert" cocktail. The Spanish tapa- potatoes and octopus was delicious. Such a great appetizer read more

We absolutely love this place! This is my 4th time visiting and every time it's amazing! Martin,Eder and Lupita are the best bartenders and so sweet, we Can't wait come back and see them! We ordered the empanadas and some other appetizers and they were all perfect! They usually have live music as well. Definitely recommend this place if you want stunning views, food and drink! read more

One of the best views to watch the sunset go down over Lands End in Cabo! I've been to Sunset Mona Lisa which is impossible now to get into but this very close to their spectacular views. Great vibe, DJ mixing some great music of all generations. Light menu but get the rock salt shrimp for sure, phenomenal! read more

In my search to Cabo, I wanted to dine at a very special place for our Anniversary. The Rooftop had rave reviews. I secretly planned this dinner through Open table before leaving Hawaii. The A. Thompson Hotel is set off back from the highway. Very secluded near the Sea of Cortez. They provide valet parking at no cost. As you walk into the hotel, you'll see a 15-20 feet Whale created from Drift Wood. There's a lower level that contains a bar as well as an amazing scenic view. Miles of sandy beaches where cruise ships and boats passage. Andres Arellano is our waiter. He performed exceptionally. All of his recommendations were perfecto! From the Red Potato Octopus to the Tuna Tacos, which was all for John. I ordered the boneless chicken thighs with a very tangy sauce. We had the best seat or may I say view in the Rooftop. We clearly watched the picturesque sunset behind the mountain. The view of the city at night was breathtaking. We witnessed the Princess Cruise ship Firework Show. From Larger for Hubby to my Sweet Margarita. We laughed, Ate and Talked the night away. As the night went on, they provided blankets to shield the cooler weather as we sat by the fireplace. Dessert was sinfully Delicious. Decadent Brownie with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (Hubby) & Savory Churros with Caramel Pecan dipping sauce Finale of the night was Andres celebrating our Anniversary with A Champagne Toast. This place is a wonderful lounge bar. From the moment you step off the elevator and see the ocean views and the city lights, you immediately relax and take it all in. The food is great, drinks fantastic and service from Sandra was top notch. We will be coming back again for sure. read more

The restaurant has view of ocean but you also overlook the pool. Not sure you want to see tourists in their swimsuit while fine dining. The resort is very modern constructed mostly of concrete walls, steel And glass. Kinda reminds you of modern Vegas hotel but not as pretty. The food was good. Kumamoto oysters very good but not as flavorful as I've had suspect they were local Kumamoto and not from Japan. Service was good not exceptional for an allege 5 star resort. Of all the Cabo restaurants I'd prob skip this one. Just not up to par with others. read more
