They brought back the shrimp cakes Beni which is one of my favorites and the only thing I order. The eggs were over cooked and not a lot of sauce on top of my eggs. I thought maybe it was just an error. But this happened two weekends in a row. The eggs were over cooked and boiled. Service is always great. We do enjoy the homey feeling when at rooted folk.

Food presentation and flavor was incredible. First time customer at this establishment. Pancakes were light and fluffy and extremely flavorful, potatoes were hot and crispy, bistec meat was flavorful and not over cooked. Customer service was fast and friendly. And the ambiance on the interior of the establishment was well lit, and lots of pretty decor. Highly recommended to family and friends.

Great food. Great prices. Friendly staff. You order at the counter. They give you a number. You find your seat. They bring out your food. They have inside and outside seating. There is a drink station. They give you your mug with coffee that the counter, but you can get refills at the drink station I ordered the sesame ginger salad. It came with shrimp and avocado. The salad was so good. It did get kind of spicy towards the end due to the ginger, but definitely a great choice. It was big and the salad had enough shrimp. The salad was not drowned in the dressing. It had just enough of the dressing. Parking is available on site.

On this adventure, I find myself in Cibola at the "Rooted Fork". I try not to be overly critical about a place but this restaurant has nothing to worry about. Because the breakfast they served was by far one of the best, the flavor was delicious, the presentation was excellent. But let's start from the beginning, the restaurant is situated in an older home and that character gives this place an inviting warmth. As you walk in you see the menu above the counter and a good amount of seating. The person behind the counter was very helpful and answered all questions about the menu. The item I chose was the "Steakhouse Forky" and that was absolutely delicious. The steak was wonderfully prepared it was probably one of the best breakfast I've had in a while, the cheese and various vegetables mixed in were a delicious combination and it paired wonderfully with the tater tots. I accompanied my meal with a cup of coffee and it too was skillfully prepared, good aroma and taste. Overall this place is very good. The people that keep this place going were wonderful and cordial, bringing the right amount of coffee and all with a wonderful atmosphere.

I normally enjoy a great meal at The Rooted Fork but not so much today. My GFs Cobb Salad had wilted Lettuce which was not chopped. My Turkey Bacon Ranch had tomato slices from the end of a tomato, Turkey was neither seasoned or roasted, the bacon was not crisp and the chips were stale. Better luck next time. NOTE : To Rooted Forks credit, they did offer to make a sandwich to go.

The food was plentiful and served hot! The wait staff was out making sure service, once the food was served, was just as hardy and very reasonable priced. The resturant in in a converted house with inside and outside seating on the deck and in the front yard. Cibola TX historical presence is that it is the end of the traill for buffalo. Right out of the gate a turn off. Menu states upcharge on all non cash purchases. (.50). Entrees are basic breakfast fare: Eggs, "protiens", potatoes, etc. Anything you add is a $4.00 upcharge to the entree. Cup of coffee $3.64 Walk-up service, indoor and outdoor seating. No waitstaff, just kitchen and bussing staff. Food prep protocols and cleanliness are marginal. Sticky tables, dirty condiment bottles, empty salt and pepper shakers. Food: Arrived hot, good portions, about a 15 min return from order. Tasty, thank goodness. Patrons are mostly young and military families with kids when we were there. Music is lo-fi rap inside. Inside dining on a Sat is peppered with exuberant young children. So go early or later or opt for the front lawn dining tables. 2 people , coffee and entrees. No opt out on a demanded tip at the register that was EASILY visible. $53.09 FOR BREAKFAST. That's our one meal out for the weekend, within a budget. Stop in, judge for yourselves. Bring cash.

One of the best things about Cibolo! The Rooted Fork is the city's favorite brunch spot. The pancakes are great and we love their breakfast nacho place. But have you heard? They are now open for dinner! I had their chicken fried steak, and it was fantastic! The restaurant is seat yourself. There's plenty of room inside and they have really nice patio and lawn seating as well.

Not many options in Cibolo. But I'll have to venture out a bit more before going back here. The breakfast menu is a lot of the same thing. I hate it when places don't have a diverse choice of breakfast meats. They up charge for chicken. And it was too dang bland. They got the order wrong when it came out. Even though they read it back correctly at the register. The waiters knew something was wrong because when I got up to leave 90% of my food was still on the table. The people were nice. The food just was not.

What a great find for breakfast and brunch! We placed our order with the friendly staff inside the restaurant before choosing one of the many inside- or outside- tables. The concept is very smart as a manageable number of basic ingrediants are combined to produce attractive, delicious dishes. I had the steak omlette. It came with a side of hash browns and was covered in a nice salsa verde. My son had the steak hash. We marveled at the similarities in the ingredients and the chef's ability to make delicious dishes.

Best biscuits and gravy I've personally ever had. Hubs had the Texas breakfast and thought it was delicious. Their jam/jelly is made there and it's yummy! My mimosa was very well earned and tasted yummy. Let's talk about the staff though... so kind and attentive. Everyone there is just absolutely lovely. The Texas Hash came with French Fries, it would have been nice to know that before ordering. The soup of the day Tomato Basil came out 16 minutes later which was not hot, the grill cheese was ok but would have preferred it nice and warm! read more

1st visit-Holy smokes! This place is fantastic! I highly recommend this eatery. First time visit and was not impressed. They were a hot mess on a Sunday brunch. Line going out of the door, probably cause ordering is such a task. The menu is so horrible. They don't have any good breakfast meals like your standard pancake, eggs, and meat. So you have to hodge podge together a meal. The drink menu doesn't have prices. The prices that are listed are not correct. Dirty tables with no busser in sight, when the indoor seating is already very limited. The people next to us had there whole order lost. Idk, hopefully they work out the kinks. read more

The food here taste great! Always good and standard. However, a full meal can be pretty pricey for standard breakfast items. I do recommend a standard breakfast platter option such as pancakes, eggs and a meat) , as oppose to the A la carte style. It would probably be more time and cost effective for both patrons and the establishment. read more

We were headed to Abel's and forgot they're closed on Sunday's. So we were in a rush to find something else for breakfast to feed our large family... hopped on yelp to see what other options were available. First thing that popped up with amazing reviews was the Rooted Fork. My husband and kids are pretty picky. But everyone ate all of their food and even talked about how soon we could come back. Everything was amazing... for reference we ordered - Texas Breakfast, Eggs Beni, Chocolate chip pancakes x 2, regular pancakes, and cinnamon toast. Forgot to take a pic. But we'll definitely be back soon - since this will now be one of our regular breakfast spots. read more

I have been going here since the first open and am a HUGE supporter of local businesses. However I have noticed a decline in the quality of their food. When I can in today the cooks were not wearing gloves while handing the food...drinking while cooking and got my order wrong. If you are going to charge what you do then the food shouldn't be mediocre at all. read more

Very quaint local place with lots of outdoor seating. Employees were very friendly and considerate. They had a very simple menu that was easy to understand. I had freshly squeezed orange juice and a pumpkin spice latte. My meal was Cajun Shrimp with Polenta. My wife had fresh orange juice with a honey lavender latte. Her meal was the Smoked Salmon Toast. We chose to sit outside and took the orange juice with us. Our lattes came out within 5 minutes of us sitting down and our food came out about 10 minutes later. So even though the place got very busy they still ensured our food was prepared and brought out quickly. Everything was great. We will definitely be coming back there. read more

My first time here with a group of friends for Brunch and sadly all of us were not impressed with our meals. Their version of Biscuits and Sausage Gravy is less than desirable. Another friend ordered the Salad Special for today. She too was disappointed with the taste of the dressing. The only thing acceptable at this restaurant were the hot/cold coffees and tea. It's a cute place. I can't say I'd return the next time I'm in town. The bunny Latte was delicious! The environment/neighborhood was cute. My children loves the pancakes. To me it's rather expensive for what I received. It's not your basic basic traditional breakfast so if you're in the mood for that down south diner experience (food wise) with traditional fluffy stack pancakes you're not going to get that here. I got the popular avocado toast and it was underwhelming. Just not enough seasoning in the avocado itself. Service was good. Again it's cute but cute won't get me back in the door. Too many other establishments to try. read more

She proceeded to make my Lavender Latte & I saw her pouring regular whole milk in the frother so I asked if that was Oatmilk & she stopped herself & said "No it's not. Sorry, I didn't write the order down" or something to that effect. I sat down by the one soda while she made my drink which was smooth & subtly lavender. She loved the pastel de nata as it reminded her of Portuguese tarts. We sat on the wooden tables with benched seating & chairs. The sofas are soft but one fabric chair had stains on it. There are other small tables & barstools with counter seating. Nice natural light flows in. Bathrooms were clean & additional seating was outside on a deck. I could see a nice party outside except the train runs across the street so that could be an issue as they blow their horns coming thru. They sell merch & preserved jellies & honey too.

The coffee is so smooth and delicious! I ordered a large (more like a medium), iced blackberry vanilla latte (house made syrups). It was so delicious! I did add 2 shots to make it a quad, as it had been a long, early morning for me. Their espresso is not bitter- it is just beautiful! I wish they had larger sizes so I could sip on it longer haha. The pastries are hit or miss- I thought the poptart was great, the cherry streusel was alright, but my friend said the cinnamon roll was a bit dry and needed more icing (it was big). Overall I would definitely come back for their great coffee. They make them pretty quickly, which is also nice!

And to my surprise I find this place called "Brew K Cafe", the term hidden gem doesn't do it justice, this place in my opinion offers one of the best coffee I've had in a long time. They offer coffee, some meat items, bubble tea, lemonades among other items. Upon entering the establishment you see a good amount of seating for the size of the place, you are kindly greeted by the people behind the counter which usually are the proprietors of the restaurant. On this episode I got a "Dolce Iced Coffee", I kid you not it was one of my favorites. If you find yourself near Cibolo and you have a craving for something unique you have to give Brew K Cafe a try. I highly recommend this place.

The coffee was bland without much flavor and don't get excited as these come in 2oz jars and all for more than $10. We asked for a water cup and were handed a paper cup with coffee grinds floating in it and not to mention is it straight from the tap. We have two kids and seen they have an order of two strawberry waffles, again for over $10, and when they arrived at the table they could not be bigger than a large silver dollar. We adults ordered our own avocado toast and opted for the brisket. The brisket was originally frozen as we seen her scrap it from a pan, the "toast" is served with several mini pieces of bread, an avocado spread, and a sprinkle of pico. Again, not much flavor and the bread was very soggy. When at the counter I did try to order over easy eggs in which she replied,"I'm sorry we don't do eggs like that. They come already made,frozen".
