She told me because my skin was more oily that micro blading wasn't worth it, since they would fade quickly and that I should get the shaded ombre instead. She promised me that I would love them and she pretty much talked me into it. And they were the most gorgeous eyebrows I've ever had in my life. They are absolutely perfect. I'm going in for my touchup in December and I can't wait. Nikki is the best in Vancouver, probably in the lower mainland. I also got my lips bluish done by Kristina who works for Nikki and she was a little less expensive and I was hesitant, till I found out she did Nikkis lip blush and it looked perfect. So she did mine and all I can say is wow! My lips look amazing, a beautiful shade. Kristina is fabulous too. The funny thing is when I first looked at my lips as soon as she was finished, they were so dark and I wanted to cry. And then she told me "don't worry, they will look perfect in a few days to a week," it's a good thing I had my mask to wear for a few days. But she was so right, my lips look absolutely amazing. During the day of, Melissa was great with advising me on what shape/color would work best for me (she's the expert!) and definitely helped to put me at ease. The process itself was relatively painless and lasted a little over two hours. Afterwards, she was clear on how important post-care was - no exercise, stay out of direct sunlight and the ever important, don't pick at scabs! The healing process itself took about two weeks, and the best piece of advice I have for anyone going through this is to trust the staff and trust the process. Right after the appointment there was definitely some mild swelling (which I was forewarned about) and I'd read enough stories/reviews describing the post-appointment look as "Angry Birds." Thankfully, I had more of a "Mildly Concerned Birds" look during the first two days, but within the first week, the healing process started and the brows both lightened and thinned out - just as Melissa had assured me they would! I got compliments from coworkers straightaway and I was happy to tell them all about Melissa and Brow Beauty. It's so bad I can not even flat iron my hair smooth. My experience at hair tech makes me question the schooling required to become a hair dresser. I am honestly starting to believe that everyone who attends hair dressing school passes. I had thought that Chealsea was a nice lady. I thought she had integrity. And I thought that she actually cared about her clients. Boy, was I mislead. First of all Chealsea came highly recommend from my roommate. So she can't be all that bad. But, I asked for one hair cut and got the same hair cut that I had. Only way shorter. I had to go back once to have it fixed the same day that I got it cut. When I went to style my hair the next day, the only thing I could do was cry. All I wanted was a cute bob w an undercut. And what I have is a disgrace. I can't even look in the mirror these days without crying or becoming very very mad and upset. I went in a few days after the original butchering to see if she could fix the mess that was my hair, explained that I haven't been able to wear my bangs down since they were cut, and her replay was "sucks to be you!" Wow. Very professional. My hair has been cut so short there is little a true professional can do to even fix it. All I can do is wait for it to grow out and try again. I am very disappointed with this hair cut and I hope she feels shames in her work and her unprofessional behaviour. (2 stars for the recommendation and the condition her salon was kept)
