Reviewing the medical literature I found out there was a minimally invasive procedure for the treatment of my condition. After multiple phone calls to clinics offering dermal fillers (mostly for cosmetic procedures) I found the practice of Dr. Anna Sylwestrowicz, MD . The office was very accommodating with my unique inquiry and agreed to meet with me just to discuss my diagnosis and treatment plan. One of the most vital requirements for a good medical outcome is a solid 'Doctor-Patient' relationship that starts with an open and frank discussion. I found my conversation with Dr. Anna (as she prefers to be addressed) to be all a patient could ask for. We jointly came up with a plan, discussed the various dermal fillers on the market, her experience with their use, possible outcomes and hoped for outcomes. I agreed to the procedure. Three weeks before the start of my hike, Dr. Anna injected my left heel pad with dermal filler. The procedure itself was tolerable and I walk out of the office with an order to 'take it easy' with my walking. For the first 5-6 days I was sore at the injection site but that was too be expected. After a week, I restarted my daily dog walks (much to the pleasure of our Doodle) and gradually increased my mileage. On April 23rd, 2026 I found my self hiking south on the Appalachian Trail from the small village of Damascus, Virginia. I was planned on keeping my daily mileage under 20km while carrying 15kg of pack. At that point, my heel was pain free. I hiked for a month pain free. I ended this section of the Trail in the very tourist town of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This was a distance of 400km-pain free! Considering the pain, I was in prior to the injection of dermal filler this was a remarkable medical outcome. I am very, very pleased. As for the future, there are 333km left for me to complete. Why on earth would she put extension of lashes that were not CLEAN? I've never, ever had this happen before. The two times, elsewhere I had lash extensions done they made sure my lashes were clean. Not impressed, for a once off extravagence, I expect companies to stand behind their services and make sure they're apply lashes to a clean canvas.

Aaaannnyyywaay, I had one tattoo done by Iesza, who was marvellous but has long since moved on, one done by Eric that I was not entirely thrilled with and he's since moved on too, and two done by Emily, who does a really excellent job and is a skilled artist, as well as being friendly and funny and putting the customer at ease. I like the location now; taking it out of the downtown core makes it more accessible if you're like me and have a car - parking is less of an issue. I also like the space a lot - very bright and lots of bold colour. I know they take hygiene and standards there very seriously too, which is important. I find the price a teeny bit steep, but research shows it's gone up everywhere and Urge is about average. My giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the occasionally intimidating "hipster/snob" feel which might dissuade a first-timer, and because they do such a great job that they're popular and it takes ages to get in.

I feel quite unwelcome in the space, and the artist who did a matching tattoo for my friend and me really didn't seem to want to be doing it (we had asked and made sure he was ok with it, and he agreed). I was supposed to do this procedure last year but had to hold off because of personal reason. I've already did consult last year but Terry wanted to do another one to make sure all my concerns and questions are addressed. I used to go to a different skin clinic before. Unfortunately, the other clinic has gone too busy and too commercialized. The personal touch is gone in my opinion. One thing I like about The One Skin is how they make you feel they care about you. Terry is very kind and you can feel his sincerity. The whole procedure took almost 3 hours including post care. I'm not going to lie. The procedure is painful but tolerable. Because laser causes redness and damage to the skin, they provide a free "postcare treatment" where they cool down the skin with gels, serums, and a mister while you relax, that was a nice touch. I look amazing, my pores are smaller, my skin is really radiant and even, and there is this noticeable glow. Most importantly my visible acne and redness are reduced as well. I am really happy. I wanted to come back to do some Botox, so I spoke with the doctor while I was there. She was informative, gentle, and professional.
