We attended a 40th Birthday Party in the Rose Room. The coolest spot to have a private party. Love the vibe and the drinks are amazing. The food was buffet style and passed hors d'oeuvres. The bartenders and staff are friendly and attentive. Highly enjoyed the event and can't wait to go back! Well done GCH!

Amazing service and amazing place. This type of vibe isn't anywhere else in Long Island. City energy and fun. The Bartenders Kiki, Peter, and Francis are awesome! Amazing music as well.

Place has a cool feel to it from the ride over to entry. It was however, a bit loud for what should be modeled after a speakeasy. Almost like loud club music. Hard to speak to bartender due to that. Other thing to consider, all fruits, veggies etc are left right in front of you, uncovered. Should be covered or away from public. Lastly, the cocktails are lacking. You give them a base liquid and say sweet/spicy/smokey/fruity and they should be able to draw up something different. I asked twice. First got a smokey old fashioned, fine. Then ask for another smokey drink...was given a Manhattan. They need to be able to come up with more unique cocktails to keep business flowing. Nice bartenders though!

We came easter weekend. Things were slow so they CDC would be closing early that night. The staff was friendly. The drinks, though expensive, were strong and tasty. The best part was probably the music. The DJ was excellent. I'll come back to experience the Rose room when it's more poppin.

It's a true speakeasy! Def pricey but it is so cute in there. It is on the smaller side but a great spot for a nightcap

The ambiance nice, cozy, and intimate The drinks are worth every penny The music was not too loud and I went on a night (Thursday) that I knew alllll the music and could sing along And service was on point. Two things you should know before going. The first they are a stickler on punctuality. You need to be on time for your reservation if not you will lose it. In addition they will send you about 5 reminders leading up to your visit. The last one being 30 minutes before your arrival. In addtion you only have 90 minutes at a table . And when the 90 minutes over.... its over, however you are welcome to stand. The second thing, this is not a let's get lit hookah kind of spot. Very GROWN and mature. You sing along with the people next to you ...you vibe. This is great for a person who wants a nice lounge vibe, great drinks, great music, and mellow crowd. It goes without saying....I WILL BE BACK!!!!!

Unfortunately, there was none of that on a Friday night. It also wasn't busy at all. The music was very loud, the space was extremely dark, and the overall vibe didn't match the hype. I ordered appetizers and entrées, but everything came out at the same time. The timing definitely needs improvement--by the time I got to my entrée, it was cold, and I felt rushed trying to eat everything at once. The drinks were good, and most of the food was good as well, but I would skip the lamb chops--they were dry and lacked flavor. Overall, some potential here, but the experience fell short of expectations.

It's the kind of place that works for a night out with friends, a date, or even a small celebration. What really stood out was the presentation. Every dish and drink was brought out with intention and creativity. You can tell they care about how the experience feels, not just how the food tastes. It made the night feel elevated without being pretentious, which a lot of reviews online also point out. Food-wise, everything delivered. The jerk chicken egg rolls were a standout. They were actually real egg rolls, crispy and well-structured, not soggy or overstuffed like you get at places that try too hard and miss the mark. They had a nice kick of heat but were still balanced and enjoyable. We also had the guacamole with shrimp, which was lightly fried and really well done. The shrimp added great texture and flavor without overpowering the guac. The sea bass came out whole, which was impressive on its own, but we asked if it could be cut in half so we could share and the staff handled it perfectly. It was cooked beautifully and ended up being one of the highlights of the meal. Presentation again was spot on, and it tasted just as good as it looked. Drinks were solid across the board. Based on both my experience and what others have mentioned in reviews, I'd recommend sticking to the cocktails as they're listed on the menu. They're clearly well thought out and balanced. Trying to modify or reinvent them doesn't really add anything, since the menu drinks already do what they're supposed to do. Overall, The Newsroom lives up to the hype it gets online. Great vibes, creative presentation, strong food execution, and a cocktail menu that works best when you trust it. Definitely a spot worth returning to, especially on a weekend night when the energy is high.

Rather than sitting in the bar area, we asked to be seated in the dining area. There were a few typical bar items on the menu - burgers, fries, and chicken wings. We ordered a few things. Spicy Tuna Tartare: wasn't spicy, didn't taste fresh which wasn't a deterrent to me as this isn't a seafood restaurant or fine dining. Next time I'd pass on that. Bavarian Pretzel: amazing. Very tasty. Came out nice and hot. That rarebit cheese sauce? Oh honey that can come home with me anytime. Absolutely delicious. And this is coming from someone who hates that fake cheese, cheese whiz type taste. Margherita Pizza: didn't come out hot which is probably why I wasn't a fan of it. It was pretty mediocre for such a basic pizza. And the food didn't come out all together, so not sure why that didn't come out hot. Wings and waffles: Tasty buffalo wings. The waffles actually taste like funnel cake which was a nice surprise. THEN. The burger came out and that is why this review dropped. It had a small hair on the side of the plate and a closer look at the rest of the plate, you'll see a long hair on the pickle. That was disappointing but happy to have tried the place nonetheless.
