I've been to the Webster location and wasn't too impressed as the food was extra salty. The Katy location certainly changed my opinion of Rouxpour. The restaurant is located in La Centerra and nearby a pond. So it has some water front table seating. But Thursday night has live music which was an amazing touch. Our service was phenomenal. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and provided quick and above expectation service. She was also a bartender so she made sure our drinks were topped off. Unfortunately we did not get her name. We ordered the cup of seafood gumbo, along with half dozen chargrilled Rockefeller oysters, and split the bayou pork ribeye. Seafood gumbo- 5/5 roux is perfectly flavored and just the right amount of salt but slightly too much rice imo. Garlic bread is perfectly toasted. Plenty of seafood. Rockefeller oysters- 5/5 plenty of toppings and large oyster to go along with it. Served with 3 large pieces of bread. Bayou pork ribeye- 5/5 pork ribeye was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and moist. Came along with snap green beans and roasted potato wedges. The green beans weren't soggy and had a nice crunch. The potato was very well cooked. Came here on a Thursday for dinner and they had live music! It was a very lively restaurant. I've been to the Webster location but this was my first time going to this Katy location. Service was 10/10. Our waitress (unfortunately did not get her name) was amazing. Despite it being a busy night, she was very attentive and food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the seafood gumbo and chargrilled rockefeller oysters as our starters. The seafood gumbo had a bit too much rice for my preference, but I loved the dark roux flavor and it was overall well-seasoned. This is probably my favorite gumbo as a restaurant. The chargrilled rockefeller oysters had LOTS of content on it so I appreciated them giving us slices of bread to eat with it. The oysters were a good size and the topping was creamy but not overwhelming. For our entree, we got the bayou pork ribeye. They automatically split this entree for us on two separate plates which was nice. They serve this in a massive portion that can easily feed 2 people. I absolutely loved this dish. This was definitely on the heavier side but you won't regret ordering it. There was so much flavor and I would classify this as a comfort food type of dish. This was a great first experience at this location and we will definitely come back. I highly recommend this spot for a date night and if you're needing a Cajun food fix. read more

We had our table and thy decided to squeeze another table next to ours and while doing that nearly spilled our bottle of wine had to move it between us. The people kept bumping our chairs. A friend and I decided to meet at The Rouxpour for dinner as it was a halfway point and seemed to have a good menu. Based on the menu and prices, I expected it to be more upscale than it was and felt very overdressed upon arrival. This is very much a place where jeans or even more casual outfits are acceptable and popular. We had reservations and receded quickly at a table of our choosing. Because we got to choose and it had beautiful weather outside we chose to sit on the patio overlooking the water. Our server gave us some time to decide what we wanted to drink and eat and did continually check on us. I ordered the Ruby Red Spritzer to drink which is basically Deep Eddy Vodka, Lemon Juice and Champagne - it was great! The drink was pretty as well as refreshing. We decided against appetizers as we weren't that hungry but for dinner I did order The Rouxpour Salad with Grilled Shrimp. As they had two dressings that sounded incredible, I subbed out the one that came on my salad for those two on the side so I could try them both. I do not love spicy things so the original creole vinaigrette was not my first pic. I did end up trying the white shallot vinaigrette and the blood orange vinaigrette and both were absolutely delicious but the white shallot vinegar was a clear winner. The salad overall was filling and very tasty and I would absolutely order it again. Tha overall experience was good, the service was great and I enjoyed the food. Out of all the rouxpours I've been to this one seems to lack the most. Its so crowded in there it feels like everyone is on top of each other. The food also tastes different. I love the alfredo pasta with chicken and at this location in particular the food just isnt it. Went to Rouxpour on Tuesday Aug 13yh and sat at the bat. The bartenders so informative and pleasant. She recommended the Scallops w/Wild Mushroom Risotto which was WONDERFUL!!!!! Service and ambiance was nice. Nothing better than a Chili's ‍ The food was overpriced for what we received. We went for a Mother's Day dinner. My husband and I both ordered a special with steak, crab meat, and a scallop. The steak didn't have much flavor. The scallop was cooked well, but there was very little crab meat that didn't add any flavor. We both wound up getting sick. He was lucky and only had food poisoning for two days. I wound up having it for a few days and landed in the hospital because I needed fluids and electrolytes because I was so sick. Just an HONEST update about this restaurant! So my family and I enjoyed celebrating Father's Day here yesterday with my husband! It was his first time and we wanted to surprise him by taking him somewhere he's never been before. He's very particular and picky about where he dines out. So my children and I made sure we chose a restaurant that's clean, professional, has great service, and delicious cuisine. Being that this is a Cajun/Creole restaurant, he was skeptical about eating here because normally creole food is too salty! However, He absolutely enjoyed the dining experience and the food and drinks. He was really impressed because the food tasted great and was seasoned to perfection. APPETIZERS: Here's a quick list of what we ordered around the table starting with appetizers and drinks. We ordered two shrimp and lobster fondues, crab cakes, shrimp deviled eggs, and boudin links. The crab cakes are small in size but let me tell you the taste is big and bold with every bite. They're basically full of delicious and rich fresh crab meat. The deviled eggs were better than any I've ever tried in my life including my own. The creamy flavorful egg yolk was absolutely delectable. It was so rich and smooth as if the yolk was whipped like creamy mashed potatoes. The shrimp on top of the egg added a burst of seafood flavor combined with the rich creamy flavors of the yolk. This combination took deviled eggs to another level! DRINKS: 2 Blueberry Martinis, 4 Mexican Martinis with a side shot of Grand Marnier, a Louisiana Peach Tea, and 3 Lemonades. All drinks were FABULOUS!!! ENTRÉES: We ordered the Fried Seafood Platter, the Lafitte Salmon Grilled with white rice, the Mack Daddy's Hangover Burger, the Creamy Pasta Rouxpour with Shrimp, the Crab Stuffed Flounder, and from the kids menu for my grandkids we ordered grilled cheese and chicken tenders with fries. OVERALL: To say that our food was delicious is an understatement! Everything was absolutely splendid from the appetizers and drinks to the entrees. The shrimp and crawfish fondue was exquisite & it's served with toasted French bread. My grandkids really enjoyed their appetizer the boudin link. It was grilled and served with sliced pickles, grilled onions, and mustard. None of the adults had room for dessert but of course my grandkids had room for ice cream lol. I'm extremely satisfied with my dining experience! They were able to accommodate us, a party of seven, five adults and two small kids. Our server Kelsey was the best! She was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu items and drinks! We did not have to wait long for anything that we ordered and we ordered big! They worked as a team bringing out appetizer after appetizer and entree after entree in a timely manner! It was a smooth and relaxing atmosphere perfect for celebrating Father's Day! We had our annual company Christmas party at The Rouxpour in Katy. Hosted in their semi-private room. This was by far the BEST dinner party we've have hosted yet! The ambiance & table decor was absolutely gorgeous! Both of our waitresses for the night Taryn & Rachel just did an outstanding job taking care of our every need. Our menu was superb & the chefs hit it out of the ball park with the appetizers, dinner & desserts! The baked oysters we're an evening favorite! We had a local guitarist come and play through out our entire evening, which Dave A the GM set up for us. Our guests absolutely loved the venue, food & wine! First time here! Set up a Valentine's Day date about a week in advance, via OpenTable, but it seems that was not enough time to score a good table. In my defense, my initial plan fell through and I had to come up with a Plan B. This wound up being an early dinner and we were seated at a table in the bar area, right next to a family which included at least three children under the age of six. I asked and we were moved to an available table, which was near one of the huge windows. There seemed to be no other tables available. We never got past the host desk, so we don't know what the rest of the restaurant looks like. We were sitting just before the bar, which seemed to be the focal point of the restaurant. To make this short and sweet: The food was amazing! My oven-baked boudin stuffed chicken topped with a creamy gouda cheese sauce, jalapeño sausage & crawfish tails, served with a loaded potato cake & veggie du jour was very good! No complaints at all, especially paired with the Louisiana Peach Tea (a nice, peachy twist on the Long Island Iced Tea)! Michelle had the Mahi Opelousas (which was spelled differently on the menu) which was Blackened Mahi-Mahi topped with blackened shrimp, spinach, mushrooms & a tomato cream sauce, served with jambalaya rice & veggie du jour. For one thing, let's get the pricing right this place has two dollar signs when it should have at least four. The average entrée is about $30. Food , I had black and salmon, which was truly blackened. It was burned and overcooked. Rice jambalaya, which normally has some type of protein had no protein to speak of the rice was dry and clumpy had very little taste. The appetizer was crab fingers, the sauce was powdery and grainy, and the crab portions were very small and grainy as well. Maybe freezer burned. Drinks arrived 30 minutes after the meal started. I got my drink when I was finishing up my plate. The portions were incredibly small. My asparagus was woody to the point. It was almost not edible. My wife had a salad with shrimp that were overdone. There was a sauce we had with crawfish and the crawfish were tiny and very rubbery overcooked. My wife got the house, white wine, and she got a literal shot glass of wine in the wine glass. There is no draft beer. It is in bottles in the bottles are of a smaller size. The bathroom was terribly strange. Someone had taken apart the air fresheners that normally hang on the wall and simply put eight completely opened pine, scented air fresheners all over the bathroom. This place really tries to be high-end, but it is really not. The ambience was odd as if they're trying to be high-end and a sports bar and the amount of yelling retracted from the highly expensive Andres. When we called, they said there was no waiting. We arrived within two minutes of the phone call and then we were told there were reservations and we would have to wait 20 minutes before getting seated. It was strange because there were open tables everywhere and we were dressed nicely. It appeared to be an issue of three people trying to manage the front of house seating people. The menu is one page probably maybe 15 items in total there are no dairy free options other than salads, and although they claim to be in a Louisiana restaurant, they really aren't and this is coming from myself with a Louisiana background. I simply wouldn't go back. It's too expensive for what you get in. The food was simply not very good. As a matter fact my wife was very nauseous after the meal. And my daughter left hungry, as did I and my son, so we wound up eating more food at home after spending nearly $200, for four people. read more

Thai and garlic parmesan. And I have to say wow. These were some of the best oysters I've ever had. Especially the parmesan one. Wow wow wow. Fresh and so tasty. You can mix and match oysters. We also got the stuffed flounder. Shrimp linguine and bowl of crawfish gumbo. All to share. It was pricy. But the dishes are big. Especially the pasta. The gumbo was very good. The flounder too. The shrimp linguine was a tad bland but the shrimp was big and very tasty. But my mind was still on the oysters. Wow. Anyways, it was hopping on a week night. Absolutely love coming here during our stay in Houston. This place is very welcoming, you're seated right away. For busy days there could be a little wait, and you might need a reservation but this place is worth the wait and planning. The food is great, the lobster rolls are amazing. Even they had great steak. Absolutely love their fish dishes. Mahi mahi with blacked shrimp is my absolute favorite choice. Never have they been wrong with this dish. Management shows they can careless about customers. Would I come here again. HELL NO! Food wasn't great compared to the one in Friendswood. The Bloody Mary was horrible. Taste just like a bunch of tomatoe juice. Didn't even come with a celery or olive. Never saw our server after the drink orders. Food came 25/30 minutes later didn't look too busy in the restaurant. Our waiter was nice but as the night went on he forgot about us. I had dropped my fork and had to ask another waiter for help. He went and did many other things inside and it took him 10 mins to get me a fork. Wow! Food quality is good but my chicken was dry and overcooked. My wife's meal came out wrong and her fish was dry too. Our waiter only checked on us once and then Made an excuse for not taking care of us. For these prices you guys need to get your game together.
