There are so many places to try so I just decided to wing it. 2lbs - House Special 2lbs - Kitchen Special 2lbs - Thai Basil (I was scaredddddd and excited) I added an order of potatoes and eggs. All Hot. Got home and got them gloves on that s$%t was so HOT (temperature and spice) I had time to find a movie and pray for my tummy bcus I was finna grub even if it burned a hole in my mouth lol. Let me offer a caution before you read this so that people don't think I'm losing my objectivity relative to my yelp activity. And the caution I will extend is that none of the meals that I had yesterday am I native too however I found them to be quite wonderful. Although I've had escargot and once in New York had snails last night was an experience with sweet snails which seem to be cooked quite well, and there was a wonderful lightly spicy broth base dressing, which was absolutely wonderful. Along with that I had grilled scallop with quail eggs. The scallops were bountiful, and the quail eggs were quite good and again simply a wonderful dressing. Lastly, I had a broth with Ngheu in which I have experienced these clams before, but the broth accompaniment was a new feature for me, and it was again absolutely wonderful. The ambiance is really nothing remarkable. However, there is plenty of room for large parties. Some of which were present. They came and went while we were dining and it was more than adequate. The service was just wonderful. I take that the waitress was a co-owner and she was absolutely helpful in refining our selections. It was a real delight. This is a nice seafood spot located in Katy. When you walk in, the restaurant is set up just like a seafood place. I didn't particularly enjoy the oysters but the highlight was the seafood pasta. The pasta had a variety of seafood and it wasn't overly heavy. The crab fried rice was also okay, it was a little bit on the saltier side but it wasn't bad. Had a hankering for crabs so we picked up (wish I ate there instead) some snow crab and dungeness both with the lemon pepper and also the cajun special sauce. Everything smelled and tasted incredible! The snow crab was very fresh and cracked and peeled easily. Both sauces penetrated the the meat with lots of buttery garlic goodness. The Dungeness crab was fresh but the shells were tougher and the meat didn't pull as easy. The ladies cooking the food and running the restaurant were happy, kind and personable. Great seafoods, special raw oysters big and fresh great service, will highly recommend to everyone

I've been here twice now. My first visit convinced me I'd be a loyal customer for life, but my second visit wasn't as great. I had razor clams, sweet snails, scallops, oysters, and soft shell crab on my first visit, and loved everything! This visit made me fall in love with razor clams lol so when I came back, I got two orders of it in two different flavors all to myself. One of them was good and normal, while the other one was...gritty. I thought the first one was a fluke, but after having five in a row that were like that, I knew it was the whole plate. But the other plate was fine, so idk how that happened. It was really disappointing because my first visit had me grinning from ear to ear. I'm really hoping it was a one-time thing because I still love those razor clams and don't know where else to get them. Aside from that one dish, everything here has been spectacular. So great that this was potentially my newest favorite restaurant, at least in terms of seafood. SWEET SNAIL W/ SALTED GREEN PEPPER: Not my favorite snail because it breaks easily. The flavor was good, but not my favorite of the night. My parents loved it though. They ordered a second plate. RAZOR CLAM (THAI BASIL): I loved the chewy, meaty texture! And I loved the rich flavor! First time trying this place out and mostly will not be returning. 1. Appetizer sampler: fried tofu, calamari and chicken wings all needed salt and seasoning. 2. Seafood garlic noodles: favor was okay but only had 4 shrimp and cut up calamari rings. 3. House special fried rice: It had FISH ROE. Usually house special fried rice contains chicken, pork (usually char siu), and shrimps -- along with veggies like onion, peas, and carrots. This is not typical and as soon as the plate came to the table we told the server. Her response was "that's what comes in it and that is what you ordered." Which ruined our experience and we didn't feel like eating anymore. Mind you the ingredients are not listed on the menu. What if I was allergic? This was not good customer service. We enjoyed the Quail though they were small, but had fantastic flavor. The Seafood Garlic Noodles were pretty good as well but didn't offer much seafood. It's crawfish season! Black Pearl is a great place to get your fix in Katy. Their crawfish flavors are nicely seasoned, and the "Kitchen Special" flavor has an onion/garlic buttery, seasoned kick to it which is tasty. I only wish the sizes of the crawfish were more consistent, as some were big but most were smaller..maybe need to wait just a bit later in the season. Seafood fried rice and sweet potato fries are yummy, and complement the crawfish well. The customer service is fast, friendly, and helpful with suggestions. I've been wanting to try this place for so long and today we finally had time to go! It did not disappoint! This is Vietnamese owned and operated. My main focus was the shellfish menu. Vietnam is half coast line so seafood is a huge part of our diet. I've been waiting to have a clean restaurant with good Vietnamese shellfish. This is it! We started out with blood clams in tarmarind sauce. The tamarin was delicious. I can see how it can be over the top for some but definitely spot on for me. Sweet snails in green pepper sauce. This was the best for me. The snails were definitely cleaned properly and I appreciate that. We ended it with the shrimp garlic noodles. This place will not skimp you on the shrimp! My favorite Vietnamese iced coffee in Houston uniquely different. Seafood is great and service well attended.

It's been a while since I came here and when I did I came a few times. Mainly because they were the only ones serving fresh live crawfish starting in Nov :O. My wife got the cravings and we took our offshore friend on one of the outings and they delivered. We got the chefs special sauce with the crawlers with sausage and corn with a bunch of fried finger food, the garlic seafood noodles and a good helping of oysters served in 3 different way and other shellfish. The owner was so accommodating even when she had a low supply and gave us complimentary desserts. Each time we came we had a blast. We had 1 order of potatoes and 4 corn cobs split between the bowls. We asked for 2 orders of potatoes but was only given and charged for 1. The sweet snail with the salted green pepper paired so well I sucked each snail shell to get the maximum taste. The Blood calms were mixed with a tamarind sauce that was sweet and a first time for me. The garlic was exquisite on with the noodles and the shrimps are a good plump size. I don't know what happened within the ordering part but the grill oyster with cheese I ordered turned out so different from the review photo, it looks like they're not even grilled at all and was a bit chewy, weird taste Blood clams were big and maybe that's why it has only few of them, seasoning ( tamarind sauce) was good, but it seems not fresh. Crawfish maybe the best out of them three, the seasoning was on point and I chose medium spices with house special sauce. Nothing to complaint about that. The food comes out pretty fast, granted there was only 1 other table when I was there. Highlights on what I ordered: Grilled Scallops- Yummy! The sizes of these babies are bigger than some places I've had. Raw Oysters- Can't really mess this up. Nicely cleaned and that spicy green dipping sauce, whew! I cannot eat spicy and I loved it! Garlic Noodles w/ Shrimp- For my garlic obsessed foodies! It's a top carb dish here. Razor Clams- These came out a bit smaller than I expected, but tasty. I am very picky when it comes to seafood but every time I have a craving this really hits the spot. They have a variety to choose from, seafood boil, oysters (raw or grilled), various clams, scallop, and more. When you order the oysters each order comes with 12 and you can split between 2 flavors. You can never go wrong with oysters & grilled cheese. Last time I had that was many years back in Vietnam. Appetizers are really good here too.
