I have mixed feelings about this place because the quality of care is excellent, but the administrative experience brings it down quite a few notches. On the positive side, my experience with the doctor and her assistant was outstanding. If I were rating based on the clinical care alone, it would easily be 5 stars. However, the front desk and overall communication system need serious improvement. From the beginning, interactions felt very minimal and disengaged, not necessarily rude, but not welcoming or particularly helpful. It feels like asking even basic questions is a burden. Also, there has been a consistent lack of follow-through. I called multiple times over the course of a few weeks to get clarification on a product recommendation from my doctor, and although I was told each time that they would check and get back to me, I never received a response. There are also some operational issues that make things more frustrating than they need to be. The website is not up to date with all of the services offered, so you have to call to get basic information, which is discouraging when responses are typically low effort, short, and dismissive. They expect you to call knowing exactly what you want. It feels very transactional. Any question you ask feels like too much, and it does not feel like a space where follow-up questions are welcomed. There is no easy way to cancel appointments online, and when I used their messaging system to cancel, I did not receive any confirmation and had to call later just to make sure it was actually canceled. I would still recommend the providers themselves, but I hope the office improves its communication, follow-through, and systems because it really impacts the overall patient experience. read more

Unfortunately my pictures were taken down because they were reported. However, I still have the email in my archives just in case. I am honestly concerned if you guys are unprofessionally sending out patient's pictures, especially when they are nude, to a total stranger. And I'm sure you would have their name, date of birth, emails, and phone numbers too, so it's unsettling that this can occur. I am deeply disappointed that a mistake like this was made. HIPAA guidelines clearly states that you cannot be sharing a patient's photos and information like this. As a nurse, I pride myself in protecting the patient. I've had one interaction with this place, as I was interested in their services, but this brings up a huge concern. As stated by others in their review, the doctor may be professional, but his receptionists are not. I honestly hope you re-educate your staff how to be more discreet when it comes to your patient and how to advocate for their safety inside. read more

Michael Bontekoe is wonderful. He's always professional and I never feel like a number. He always remembers me even though I only see him once a year. He is the best for removing moles, skin tags, keratosis, etc. I recently moved to the Palm Springs area from LA. I chose to drive to 2 hours just to see him because he never disappoints. Been coming here since 2019. Love love love Doc Ahdout! If I could give her a hundred stars I would (review under Ahdout's Yelp page). She is a skin whisperer, genuinely cares about your concerns and tries to help you. I also had a procedure done with Doc Amron back in 2019 and he's awesome as well!!! Only giving this place 3 stars now because of one of the nurses here who really makes you feel awful about yourself. Learn from my mistake of being honest - this horrible nurse told me she needed to update my chart for my prescriptions so I told her what meds I had and now she's branded me a drug addict all because I have 4 collapsed discs, anxiety and at times insomnia. It's quite humiliating and made me want to cry. I went in for my monthly Clear & Brilliant + micro needling appointment today and when I asked for some of the gas to help with the pain, that horrible nurse made my nurse come back in to flat out lie and say they were out. Luckily Doc had my back and so they brought it back in. Oh and this super judgmental nurse who thinks she's knows better than doctors is also pretty rude and dismissive to Doc. Ahdout. The absolute BEST. Dr. Ahdout is one of the best doctors I think I have ever been to. The staff is incredible as well. I had a very painful rash / allergic reaction on my face -- every inch of my face was swollen, red, and bumpy. I was so uncomfortable and embarrassed. Everyone from the receptionist to the assistants were incredibly comforting and caring. The first assistant, I believe her name was Ashley, was so sweet and listen to every word I said. I even took notes beforehand to try and make the context of my situation shorter because I'm so use to being rushed through doctor's appointments -- But not here. Then Dr. Ahdout came in and right off the bat she had a wonderfully calming presence. She sat next to me, listened, and took her time trying to figure out what was wrong. She wrote down everything so I had something to refer back to on my journey to recovery. After, Dr. Ahdout left, her assistant that came in with her (which I am so sad I didn't catch her name because she was amazing) literally went through everything with me again to make sure I left with comfort and an action plan. I wish I could give 10 stars for overall experience. My insurance unfortunately does not cover here, but I will definitely be back. I will make it work to keep coming here. read more

I'm am going to Dr Amron for liposuction. He is very thorough and through evaluation I found out that I am stage 2 lipidema. I knew something else was really going on and he confirmed it. It affects my health. I am having three procedures done soon. I am glad that I found him and I am very confident with his experience and the way it will be done. I will make sure to post again. I also saw dermatologist Dr Aldhout for my menopausal rosacea I had one treatment and already notice a difference. She is so nice sweet and caring. I am so happy with her and the facility. Within 24 hours of writing this review, Dr. Amron's team did reach out to me. The representative I had been having trouble getting in contact with previously seems to not be with the company anymore, so I spoke with Kelly and Chelsie instead, both of whom were on the ball with communication and continued to work with me diligently over a prolonged period of time on insurance claims and outstanding concerns. Dr. Amron also spoke with me again regarding the issues with my surgery results and put me in contact with Dr. Karen Herbst to help address these issues. Dr. Ahdout is the BEST! I came to her with an issue I've dealt with since I was a child. She was able to FINALLY give me a diagnosis and treatment. Although it wasn't a cure, she improved my situation with cost effective treatment. The difference is incredible, especially considering I never thought anything could be done to improve it. This is a testament to Dr. Ahdout's ability to properly diagnose and treat issues. She is very knowledgeable and experienced but most importantly, she is kind and understanding and works with you to find the best solution. In fact, the initial questionnaire asks you what things you'd like to talk about or address and if you don't check something off, no one brings it up. I made an appointment for a skin cancer screening through ZocDoc. When I arrived to my appointment I was told they don't take my insurance (Blue Shield PPO) and that I would have to pay out of pocket. I was told they informed me on the phone, they did not. I let the front desk know that nobody informed me of this and I showed her the transcripts on my phone of all the conversations and voicemails I had with them. She was not at all apologetic. It's very unprofessional not to notify patients that they don't take their insurance before their scheduled appointments. I had to arrange child care and pay for parking. I now also need to make an appointment with somebody else when I could have done that in the first place, if I had been informed. read more

I was looking forward to the appointment with Dr. Ahdout given the good reviews I saw online but I was very disappointed. The whole experience felt very commercial and invasive - as if the goal was to sell facials and other treatments while all I wanted was for a decent dermatologist to look at my face and diagnose and give solutions. Very shallow and far from a caring interaction. The cherry on top was me leaving with a burn scar because she tried to pop several of the acnes and broke the skin, and then didn't think twice about applying a solution that smelled like nail polish (forgot the name) on open skin. I met Dr. Ahdout and Kennedy, the aesthetician, when I first arrived at The Roxbury Institute back in June 2020. I had an absolutely horrible cystic acne breakout on my chin, cheeks, and forehead due to an awful decision in using a hormonal IUD, and came to my appointment in tears, as I had never seen my skin in such terrible condition. I thought I could save my face on my own by following articles and YouTube videos recommending "miracle" clay face masks, but I am so so thankful I found Dr. Ahdout when I hit rock bottom with my skin. First, let me say that she has such a kind and caring demeanor that really shows how much she empathizes with her patients. I felt so comfortable talking with her about my concerns and what happened with my skin. With careful examination and thoughtful explanation, Dr. Ahdout recommended the best treatment tailored for me involving both topical treatment and hormonal stabilization. Before going to Roxbury Institute, I was always so hesitant visiting a dermatologist when it came to acne, because past experiences in my teen years left me feeling like doctors would only push their brand name products onto me - with a "one type of treatment fits all" method. That was not the case with the amazing Dr. Ahdout and Kennedy. Both women evaluated my situation and cause for breakout and customized a personalized routine that would work well with my skin. With each passing month and visit, Dr. Ahdout and Kennedy worked as a team to update my regimen, and I began to notice a slow but certain improvement with my skin. Dr. Amron walked into the waiting area a few times and he greeted my daughter and I with a smile as did Dr. Aria! I met with Dr. Aria for the first time for a LIPEDEMA CONSULT and I MUST say his bedside manners are amazing which speaks volumes to me. He knew so much about Lipedema and he explained everything with calmness and patience and always asked if I understood or had questions and when I did ask questions he responded with no hesitation ( he knew is craft ) .
