    Pork chop

The BEST pork chop. Incredible service, vibes, and food. A must go if you're on the island.

Great flavor, chill atmosphere, and great service! I will definitely be returning when I'm back on Vashon.

Brunch was so good! Wish we had time to peruse the butcher section and was able to take some home. Cute little space. I like the cocktails and definitely will go back to try the little noodle shop attached.

Well there aren't a lot of places to eat out on vashon, but I liked this hip place, mostly meat on the menu with their bone broth soup being their stand out dish which is like a pho hybrid with greens and noodles and an egg. Get the kimchi on top of it too. Kind of pricey though and the meat was like shredded brisket. I was glad I got the olive oil bread.

We just drove through town and very few places were open on a Tuesday, so we opted for The Ruby Brink. BAAM! Hand's down we were happy to walk through the door into a very friendly, welcoming, warm environment. My wife got the Braised beef meat and noodle. Amazing. My BFF got the corned beef and cabbage sandwich and immediately said it was the best she has ever had! I had a small bowl of pickled kohlrabi.... Fresh and with a mild kimchi flavor. One of our best lunches ever. We sat at the bar and the service by Geevon was excellent!

Everytime I visit Vashon Island, this place is a MUST. The bone broth alone is reason to visit. You can also purchase some to-go from their deli fridge. I like to come here for lunch which is the only time they serve their TRB Dip sandwich. This is a roast beef, swiss, horseradish sandwich with a cup of their 24 hour bone broth for dipping. This is no ordinary roast beef dip, it is next level! I split this with a friend and we ordered an extra cup of broth so we each had our own. It also comes with a bag of chips on the side. They have Empress Gin here so I like to pair an Empress Gin and tonic to top off my favorite meal on the island. Service has always been friendly and attentive. The space is cozy, not great for big parties. A couple booths in the front near the window, bar seating and some high tops, and just a handful of tables in the back. They also have a deli with a little bit of seating that shares the space. No table service in the deli from what I can tell.

Recently ventured to Vashon Island and were so impressed with everything we tried at The Ruby Brink, a butcher, restaurant, and bar that focuses on locally-sourced, quality ingredients. Although we ate on the outside patio on a warm evening, I decided to try a hot dish, the smoked chicken meat and noodle, which turned out to be delicious and restorative. The chicken was flavorful and tender, the noodles thick and chewy like udon. The homemade broth had just the right amount of salt and flavor to make it perfect. The microgreens and other veggies added a fresh element to the dish. My husband ordered the Sausage on a Roll, which had a creamy, spicy sauce and an herby sausage. The bread was excellent and it was all topped with baked cheese: perfect! The drinks were great, too. The menu offers both original and classic cocktails, along with wine/beer/cider. I tried the 20th century, a classic cocktail comprising gin, Lillet blanc, white creme de cacao and lemon juice, which I hadn't had before. The creme de cacao sounded like an odd addition, but it was actually very subtle and didn't really taste chocolatey. It was a refreshing, well-crafted drink.

What a great restaurant! We arrived on Vashon towards the end of the day on a Friday, so places weee starting to close, but I'm so glad everywhere was because I'm not sure we would've chosen The Ruby Brink. However, now that I know about this place I will make an effort to visit every time I'm visiting Vashon! The dining area is pretty intimate, but not cramped, and there's plenty of seating at the bar. The staff was very nice, helpful, and efficient! I would've liked to see it earlier with more people/activity, but if you go around 830pm or so you will definitely get a seat and food really quick! It was chilly that week so some warm noodles sounded perfect! We found out that they make their bone broth in house every day, and also create/print their menus every day, too! Everything tasted so fresh, even the coffee (must get). Thank you Ruby Brink! Can't wait to see you again!

This was our "second" dinner. They were pretty busy but we were seated relatively quickly. I ordered the chicken liver mousse snack board and partner got the bolognese. I didn't actually eat the liver mousse because that's not my thing- I more so ordered it because my partner likes that stuff. She said the liver was just ok. The salted cracker was really good and had a good snap. The bolognese had chunks of sausage but they reminded me of sausage on a pizza. I didn't like the cream/cheese sauce on top but the pasta was perfect. Service was good. They gave us mochi to end our meal since it was their birthday and that was pretty good.

Had to wait 30 min past the given time for pickup. Not fun when you walked to the restaurant and waited outside. Though our food was to-go (courtyard not open that day) a peak inside revealed a cool spot to dine. Sausage a Roll was good, though the way the bread is made it was hard to eat and really needed a fork and knife which we did not have. Could have used more mustard mayo to balance the dry toasted bun. Hold the Meat & Noodle was good. Might have enjoyed it better in-house vs composing it ourselves. A bit snobby ~ our to-go order was late without apologies. Nice & pricey dining for the island.

Maybe that should have been my queue to find a different spot. We were seated quickly, and ordered the French toast. For $22 I expected to be blown away and have it be the most amazing plate of French toast I've ever eaten. What I was served was a plate of BURNED toast, a few blueberries and some sliced strawberries. There wasn't any whip cream, nothing special but can we go back to how it was burned. Like black. Not carmelized burned. (You can see how black it is in the pics. Do better. No one else was there) Our served came over gave us our bill so we could pay and never did ask how our meal was. Probably because she knew it was bad. I paid. I'll never go back and I caution anyone else that's in the area.

And to me, the price is too high for the food to just be "fine." The mocktails are always delicious, and one time they made me a Pimm's cup. I've also sipped a few of my family's cocktails and they're quite good. The best thing I had was a vegan sloppy Joe with chickpeas a few years ago. The vegan Caesar salad is good. They seem to have a housemade veggie burger on the menu year round, but it's on a brioche bun so if you want to get it vegan it just comes without a bun... I had it once with the bun and even then I found it pretty dry and underwhelming, especially for the price. ($18 with a pickle and a handful of their thick fries [the fries are tasty and vegan]). We went yesterday and I got a squash appetizer without the crème fresh, and half the squash was undercooked (like so hard I couldn't put a fork through it). I told the server and they comped the dish, but even the part that was edible wasn't that great, so I didn't really want a replacement. My sister likes the steak, she's had it twice and the steak is cooked well, the sauce is good, but the carrots have been undercooked both times. She agrees that the drinks are better than the food. She also says the desserts are good. My mom thought the crab cakes were delicious, her Brussels sprouts were not undercooked. The people who work there are lovely, and it's a good vibe, but it might just be a drinks & desserts spot for me.

Our first visit (my wife and I), we arrived a bit early hoping to grab a drink before catching the ferry. They weren't quite open in the back, but the bartender offered to pour a beer or wIne since we made the trip in. We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the view and watched the the ferries dock. So, don't repeat my mistake.

I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone
