I visited Vashon Island for a get away after the school quarter finished for winter of 2026. I have never been here before so I knew nothing about what was available. When I travel I have a tradition of getting pizza from a local place on the first night. I saw reviews for different pizza places and there were two clear contenders. I chose this place because the reviews were good, but specifically because the slices were described as New York style - by actual east coast transplants. They were right! I thought I was going to get a whole pizza but honestly it was not necessary. I got three slices of pepperoni and they were massive. HUGE slices with a nice thin crust. The server behind the counter was kind and patient with me as a first time visitor. I liked the vibe of the place too - small, fun, hole in the wall you might have frequented in college or after bar hopping or something. So, this place is incredible. It's a bar/restaurant (over 21) behind a family pizza place. It's like 2 pizza places in one. It's very "retro Italian chic" with the best vibes. Now for the food.... The pizza is HUGE but I still recommend getting a whole one to snack on later. This time we got a calzone to split. It was big enough for 3 or 4 but the two of us polished it off. Couldn't stop. Cheese and more cheese. 10 stars. The cocktails were great no added simple syrup and sweetness. She was also the server so she's around whenever you need more napkins or water or whatever. read more

Their pizzas are huge! Bring a large appetite! Caesar salad was the best we have had hands down, their dressing is made fresh in house daily. Old diner style seating up front with huge garage door style windows with a cozy lounge in the back. Super friendly service, great knowledge of the surrounding areas, all their wine is imported directly from Italy. House made bolognese and massive meatballs which we will have to try next time. Not to overstate, but this is one of my favorite places in Washington. Pizza is ridiculously good, and even better when they have a Sicilian crust available. But whatever, you get what you get and it's all good. They normally have 4 or 5 different pizzas available by slice, I assume you can buy a whole pizza but I don't know why you would. They experiment with different combinations and everything I've had there is amazing. But The real story is the bar. Real speakeasy feel, behind the restaurant. Staff is amazing, they make great drinks and great beers on tap. Old cheesy movies on the TVs and retro decorations. Originally same owners as Big Marios in Seattle, if you're familiar it's a similar vibe. Authentic Italian style menu and wine list, so much so that they sent the bar manager to Italy recently to connect with wineries and learn the ... I don't know, whatever you learn about wine. Excellent crust- I'm not a New Yorker so I can't "officially" judge BUT it was just what you'd hope it to be: thin and crisp and the middle point of the slice held up and didn't flop under the weight of sauce, cheese and toppings. Great ratio. And it wasn't breads, the crust was light and you didn't feel stuffed after finishing the whole crust. The pepperonis were the little cup-style pepperonis and were delicious (though greasy, which we saw as more flavor but isn't for everyone). The meatballs were good but the consistency was more like a meatloaf and the sauce was a bit spicier than you'd expect a marinara to be- I enjoyed it but could be something others might avoid. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat for the kids. They offer pizza by the slice. We got a slice of the deep dish pepperoni for $6 and it was a generous portion. This was a spur of the moment stop for lunch. The service and the food were great! We sat in the back, there's a comfortable bar area and the bartender took care of us quickly! We ordered a Caesar salad to split, which they kindly split for us. The dressing was some of the best I've had. The pizza was a half/half, El Primo on one half and the other had the capricciosa on the other half. The thin crust was amazing and the fact that it wasn't too saucy helped it to hold up to the toppings. Also, one of my big issues with most pizza is, it's generally too salty. Very disappointing experience and pizza overall. I called and was immediately placed on hold, waited for 7 minutes on hold before I decided to just call back. Once I called back someone hung up TWICE. Came in since it was the only quick thing open I ordered a pizza and received it in about 10 minutes. The pizza tasted old and as if it was reheated in the oven and not made to order. Wouldn't tell someone to come here if they were just visiting the island like me and my friend. This time we tried the lasagna which was just perfection, you can taste the fresh ingredients that were used. It was like having your nonna make it. Do you like for thin crust, crispy pizza? This is one of the best meals/splurges on Vashon, hands down! Came in on a Monday afternoon, and ordered slices of pizza which they warmed up for me. After ordering they offered to deliver the warmed slices to me after, very friendly service and environment in general. They also sell take out alcoholic cocktails. To the left of the cashier is also an entrance way to the bar and seating in the back. They also sell wine bottles, from what I saw at least from 2013 that looked amazing. I think that for the price the pizza slices are really good! It is a very thin crust but they give you a pretty large slice. We were here a couple weeks ago and loved it. We are both east coasters and couldn't believe we found legit east coast pizza on Vashon of all places. I think I liked it even better than Big Mario's which is my Seattle spot for as close to east coast pizza as you can usually get out here. We hung out in the back bar area, which is not unlike the back bar area of the Lower Queen Anne Big Mario's, but with cool 70s pinball machines instead of the wall of VHS tapes.
