This place came up on my FB feed while scrolling. Ad caught my attention with the weekend specials. We drove over tonight to give it a try. We ordered the shot honey grouper sandwich, bang bang shrimp fries, fried shrimp and grouper bites. Three were weekend specials for $9.99. That price and quality cannot be beat! The hot honey grouper was awesome. Very nice filet of grouper with hot honey on it. Sweet, spicy and freshly cooked. 10/10. Fries were freshly fried and had a nice seasoning. Great meal. My son had the grilled grouper bites. They were cooked perfectly and he devoured them. 2 thumbs up! Other son had the shrimp basket. Fried shrimp were juicy and crispy. Not over battered. Great taste and another 2 thumbs up. Bang bang shrimp fries were really good. Not hot but had great flavor. Fries had a ton of bacon and that yummy sauce drizzled over them. Would get again. 9/10. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Nice outdoor area with about 6 tables. Service was friendly and quick. Price was great for fresh seafood. So there is a seafood food truck in the parking lot called "Ruskin Seafood Shack", I think they are owned by the same owner. My wife & I wanted seafood, mainly fish and this business is now open on Tuesdays which is great. Most of the seafood places in the area only open Thursdays through Saturday. So my wife wanted grilled grouper, and she said it was prepared perfectly. She said that it wasn't overly seasoned and that it tasted fresh. She liked the red potatoes and said that next time she'd do a double order of them. We also go a pound of bay scallops which were delicious. Not overly seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had the fish & chips and I received two nice size pieces of cod, it wasn't overly battered or seasoned and it was very fresh. I also got red potatoes and fries but I'd also double up on the potatoes or get a side of corn. The scallops were abundant and a half order would been sufficient. If they had hush puppies it would be perfect. The customer service "Dustin" was amazing. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful with my order today. The prices are fair and the food was very hot. I live 20 minutes away and when I got home it was still scorching hot. I strongly recommend this business and I'll return here again real soon. read more

It's a walk up window service but very friendly and non committal since every dish you ask about is good (and he's right). Nice menu choices and daily specials as well. The lobster roll was really good, plenty of meat and seasoning on a fresh butter laced roll. Side of corn of the cob was good not spectacular. The fries were fresh and hot. I have to say that we've ordered the take out fish and chips here on Fridays before with no problems. This past Friday, the 4th, the smell of the fish on my way home(5minutes) and in the house was really strong. To the point we really couldn't get it past our nose and disposed of it. Just hoping it was a fluke, get it, and going forward they provide fresher fish. It's a shame cause no seafood/fish meal is cheap anymore. read more

Horrific! Asked for fish grilled, loaded with oil and salt! Grilled is fish on the grill,,, that's it! The tiniest seafood scallops and shrimp,,, I mean come on!! Grouper was the slimy ends/ spines. For a community seafood market that now has a food truck next to it, do better. Any place would have been an improvement. Embarrasssed for you! Just finished our early dinner and not impressed in the slightest. We had the grouper sandwich special, 2 deviled crabs and an order of calamari. The deviled crabs were the star of the order, very tasty and lots of crab, will definitely order again. Now about the rest of the order, the calamari was way over cooked, dry and had the consistency of a RUBBER BAND, poor and had a very strong taste. The grouper sandwich had great lettuce and tomato and very good bun, that's were the taste ended, it's a shame but the grouper was also very over cooked and thin. The hot honey sauce was needed to make the fish a little moist. I'll try them again since they're close, I hope the third time will be a charm. I gone to Ruskin Seafood Shack twice to pick up food. The seafood is good, but we're not big fans. The blackened grouper sandwich was tasty enough, but the bottom bun was swimming in liquid. It was very hard to eat it as sandwich. The side red potatoes were a step up from coleslaw. We also tried the lobster roll on an earlier visit. It was bland to OK, but definitely not a price performer. We absolutely love the Ruskin Seafood Market for fresh fish. Very good selection and I guess ultimately we prefer to fix our own seafood. read more

Been here quite a few times and tried the Mahi Sandwich, Shrimp Tacos, Lobster Roll and Salmon Bowl. All are tasty and quality. The staff is always friendly. I enjoy sitting outside and watching the parrots on the electrical lines while I'm chowing down. read more

We love this store/food truck! The food is always fresh and delicious. The seasoning is always on point! I loved everything we ordered. The crabby fries were really sweet, just to notate flavor wise. They were delicious, I'm just more of a savory person. No complaints though, everything was fantastic! Service is always on point and everyone is always so kind! The atmosphere is incredible, they were really thoughtful putting umbrellas with each table and even having fans around to help prevent flies. 10/10 recommend! read more

Went to the Ruskin Seafood Shack, (which seems to be part of the Ruskin Seafood Company) in early March 2026. Got two Blackened Grouper Sandwiches & one grilled Grouper Meal. Portion sizes were good for the cost. Had the potential to be Great, but.... It was raining so we got it to go, and took it home. All three pieces of Grouper were very overcooked and dry. The two that were supposed to be Blackened seemed to be Plain, with no spicy & smoky flavor tastes noted. Will give them another try in the future, but if you go, I would request minimal cooking of the Grouper, and if getting Blackened, inquire what spices are being used and ask for a taste of the blackening spice. Should be paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and various herbs. Sauce on the sandwiches was very good. Coleslaw side was bland, and small. I drove one hour away because they said they'll have live blue crabs around 3 pm. I get there at 2:55 pm and I was told 3:30, ok I'll just grab a few items and come back I called at 2:29 pm and was told yes we have crabs, I wasn't even 5 miles away when I called them at 2:29 pm. But when I get by the Ruskin Elementary school the phone rung and was told were sold out. which by the way was maybe 5 minutes later. note I was told they'll have crabs arriving at 3:30, how do you sell out in 6 minutes very upsetting. They used to hold crabs for me because I travelled so far to get there 1 hour away. I live in Hardee county which is by far Not much seafood here. Heard about the seafood boil at Ruskin Seafood Company. What we ordered fresh did not look anything like photos on site. two clusters of crab legs, 2 small pieces of corn, perhaps 3/4-1 sausage, 1/2 dozen shrimp, 2 crawfish and potatoes. even though ordered on site, what we received was flavorless and had been cooking far too long, perhaps all day as everything was soft and mushy including shrimp and crab legs. Never had shrimp that disintergrated. perhaps forgot flavoring or it just cooked off from being cooked for far too long. We enjoy the fresh seafood from here but will not be ordering the seafood boil. it in no way met the expectation of the photo, description or what we've come to know from RSC. Hope to hear they get act together and continue to grow in size and customer base. read more

Went to pick up their Lobster BLT sandwiches last night. There were 5 orders and each one was loaded with lobster. Not a lot of mayonnaise, which was perfect for me. I called this place last minute on Thanksgiving and he was not open but was there for 30 minutes he said. I said okay and was prepared to hang up, but then he said what do you need. I told him I was doing a seafood boil and he asked how far I was. I told him I can be there in 10 minutes, he said he will be there.
