The food was fantastic. I had fried clams. They were very delicious. The clam chowder is the best. It really taste like New England clam chowder and the clams of fried bellies and all which I can't find anywhere in Florida I would recommend this place. It's small, but the food is phenomenal. Came to this side of Florida because of a soccer tournament and of course I had to take advantage of local food before I headed back home. The shop is located in a shopping mall so there is plenty of parking. The shop is made for lunch. It is small and there is seating inside and out its not meant for a very large party. On a positive note, they have a multitude of seafood sandwiches and lunch options to enjoy a nice meal. I saw photos of lobster rolls on yelp, so I got the lobster roll. It was so good. Packed with lobster and the bread was delicious. My son and husband got the red snapper sandwich blackened with fries. We were also able to try their clam chowder (delicious) as well as their key lime pie (i am unsure if it's made there but it was very good). The cashier was sweet. The staff made sure that we were happy with the food and for a small cafe I can't ask for anything else. Lobster Pound is a unique little market and restaurant-there really aren't many places like it anymore. My boyfriend ordered the lobster roll, and it was amazing. We also tried the soups, including the New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, and both were excellent. Unfortunately, I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich and asked for it seared, but it was way overcooked. The tuna was cooked all the way through (brown throughout) and very dry. Next time I come back, I will not be getting the tuna, but definitely the lobster roll. BEST BLACKENED GROUPER I'VE EVER HAD! My sister and I were en route back from the Lena Road Landfill and decided to stop for lunch. We googled and found the highly rated Lobster Pound. It's easy to find in Lakewood Ranch and there's ample parking provided. The Lobster Pound is a quaint place, with an extensive menu (see photo attached). We were welcomed warmly upon arrival and given time to peruse the vast menu. Ultimately we went with the blackened grouper sandwich and OH EM GEE am I glad. It took some time to come out but this speaks to them making things as they are ordered and it was 100% worth the wait. The fish was incredibly flavorful and juicy. So juicy and cooked perfectly! It didn't need any sauce or additional seasoning, it was outstanding on its own with tomato and lettuce on a bun. They also are sure to give you a large piece of grouper/nice serving size. We tried the Giant cold and hot with hush puppies. My friend thought hot, the lobster seemed overcooked. My cold with mayo was good, but maybe needed something extra to give it a bit more flavor. Hush puppies were just ok. Coleslaw was good. read more

The fish chowder was very good but spicy, but if you like spice, the flavor is incredible! The clam chowder is New England "finest kind" as is the pan seared scallops, fresh Maine lobster, and anything else you care to name! Not the first time we've been here, obviously, and not the first review, however, they keep getting better! Jim and Kelly, the proprietors are incredibly cordial. Went to the lobster pound over the weekend. I've been wanting to check this place out because my husband has lately been very obsessed with lobster rolls, they are his favorite food. So anytime we see a place that serves them we check it out. First I will say this was a great lunch spot. Second, the staff was all very nice and very attentive. Third, they sold a lot of fresh fish and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell the slightest bit of fishy inside. Now onto the roll, the lobster was so fresh, the portion sizes were great for the price, the sides were amazing. The only thing is that the lobster rolls, both the hot and the cold, lacked flavor. I was slightly disappointed because this place had everything going for it, but the rolls ended up being lackluster because they just didn't have any seasoning. The lobster was delicious and fresh but lemon and butter and mayo can only take it so far. It's possible we just got a bad batch but unfortunately I was not in love with this place. Lobster is my favorite food so I'm very picky about it. For $34.99 + tax I got the Connecticut giant lobster roll. Pretty pricey but you get a good amount of lobster. I love the fact it doesn't have that extra stuff to the lobster like mayo and slaw so you're getting ALL lobster. I do wish there was more flavor to the lobster and more butter. We were going to be in this area, so I found this place on Yelp. 3 of the 4 of us are from Massachusetts, so it was a no brainer. I don't eat seafood, but the tenderloin tips sandwich sounded ok. The gentleman at the register was friendly and quick to offer some recommendations when we asked, telling us about the fresh catch and different ways it could be prepared. Our group went with all different selections: crab legs, steamer platter, cold lobster roll, hot lobster roll, fried shrimp and scallops, shrimp tacos, swordfish sandwich; Mahi Mahi sandwich. And every single thing was OUTSTANDING. The food alone was enough to warrant the 5 stars, but Tucker made me wish I could rate this place more than 5. His friendly demeanor, outstanding service (it's not easy accommodating requests from a large party) and generous sampling of other menu items made us all leave with not only full bellies but smiles on our faces! One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had! I had the Connecticut style... served hot with lemon and butter. It was so tasty (1st time having it this style)!! Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is no indoor seating. So my options were to take it to-go & eat in my car (I was out running errands) or sit outside in the muggy heat. Also, I was expecting this thing to be a lot bigger after looking at the pics on yelp. It's about the size of my small hand (as shown in pics). But don't let the size fool you! They pack it with so much lobster meat that I had to take some off to eat it! Definitely filled me up, but mu husband would prob need the bigger size. Very messy, but aren't the best foods messy!? Recommendations for this place: get a better location with indoor seating (maybe on the water too!) and maybe add alcoholic drinks too!
