    Chicken wrap
    Hannah M.

Every once in a while you go to a diner & it's clear the cook cares about presentation, flavor, the works. I'm not sure who made my chicken wrap tonight, though I'll say it's one of the best I've had in a long time! Homestyle cooking is definitely their program and the drinks are always solid!

Came home hungry for the first time. Worse lunch ever! Order Asian Teriyaki Salad. Was soaked in Teriyaki couldn't taste the chicken or lettuce. You can see Teriyaki in bottle of bowl. Waitress never came and ask how things were. When I went up to pay, owner took my money asked me how everything said it was the worse meal ever all he said, "Sorry will talk to them in the back about it". Didn't even give a discount just took my money. Never eat that salad again but most everything else has been good.

    Chicken Strips

The place was very busy, line out the door type of busy. The waitress was slow and not didn't take the order until a good 25 minutes after seated including no water. Food was horrible. Fries under cooked, not seasoned and chicken strips were cold. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The place was loud and noisy.

A delicious piece of peach pie.

We were promptly seated but then probably sat for 10 minutes before our waitress came over. She was friendly but perhaps had too many tables to cover. Long delays to get drinks. We tried to order another round of drinks shortly before our dinner arrived. Our dinner came and we once again tried to get drinks. When our waitress came to check on the dinner we asked about the drinks again. Finally as we were done with our dinner we requested she cancel the drink order. 5 minutes later she came back with our drinks and said the bartender just poured them. Disappointing.....

Seems like a bad buy on managements part. Then I set the empty carafe on the end of the server in front of the table while she took drink orders, she looked at it, then walked away...? If sat there empty most of the meal- aka they came back several times to take our food order, give us food, and check in before they finally filled it again. Drinks were decent, can't really mess up a mimosa I guess. I thought the food was gross and bland, I didn't eat it. The rest of my party liked their food though. Edit: bumping this up a star because of the nice reply I got. I'll be sure to support this business again as soon as I can and update my review. (This review was originally three stars)

The bar is long, with pictures of all the Pendleton Round-Up lining one wall. The place is a fascinating time capsule. Way in the back, beyond the bar and the pool table, a very small dining room with counter service and several humble booths are tucked away next to the kitchen. It's old, and proud of it. I've only eaten there twice; I once had a great breakfast there many years ago with my son. The portions were generous, the service was excellent, and as American style breakfasts go, it was about as good as they get. It's not "inspired food." It's the standard stuff, and there's something comforting about that. It's Americana at it's best. The second time was my birthday, and again, I was there with my son. It was evening. When we got there, we were the only ones occupying the cafe. It looked exactly as it had 20-plus years ago. My son ordered a hamburger and fries. Again, no trendy toppings or fuss, just very fresh, very well prepared hearty fare...exactly what we were looking for. I had their "famous" fried chicken. it was without hesitation, some of the best I'd ever tasted. It came with jo-jos, a salad, and garlic bread. It was all excellent, and almost too much food. If you enjoy old school dining in a small town cafe, it's going to be hard to beat the Rainbow Cafe and Bar.

The whole place is well decorated, pretty cozy, and definitely got a vibe to it of a local place. Service: everyone was fine and friendly, we were friendly to them as we could tell on the Sunday night it was just the two folks and they were doing their best. Drinks and food: the drinks were strong but good, the food was excellent. We got the chicken and it's definitely enough to split with someone, and the French dip which my husband said was meh. The potato jojos were huge but tasty. Over all very well worth the visit! A nice historic place and experience.
