I am in town for a few days, was looking for a good steak, and picked this place because of its stars. Wow. Just wow. Two stars for the nice staff. The food - well, there's nothing like a good steak, and what I ate was nothing like a good steak. Ordered medium rare and it was well done. On the way through Oregon headed home from Thanksgiving, we spent the night in Pendleton which has several good restaurants of note. However, I typically do breakfast at my hotel before heading home so I haven't tried any breakfast spots until this trip. Found The Saddle on Yelp and trusted my fellow elite yelpers and tried it. Very, very good food! Great service, and easy convenience to the freeway. German sausage omelette was cooked perfectly, was flavorful and huge! Amazing bacon, and equally if not better cottage cheese. This place basically exceeded my expectations in every way, save for the ambience and beverages. (Coffee and Iced Tea were bitter tasting with a bizarre after taste) but besides that, I wholeheartedly recommend this spot. read more

Food has gone downhill and it's sad that they will be calling an employee into work when he's literally in the delivery room for the birth of his child. Who does that? Calling him in and posting on the employees facebook on their newborn pictures for them to come to work when their baby was not even home from the hospital barely born not even 12 hours before. They only care about labor and will disrespect the birth of a child because they have no respect. I will never forget or forgive this . read more

So we were on our way to LaGrande for the girls soccer playoffs and the head coach asks me to find a place for the team to eat lunch in Pendleton. Using my yelp app I found this restaurant and their menu had the most choices(22 girls plus 3 coaches and a bus driver). The head coach then called them to see if they could handle a crowd that big! Super great service and the nicest people. Close to the highway, good food, good service. We went for breakfast, I added a biscuit to mine which was a great choice. Not huge serving sizes, but the serving sizes are much more normal than somewhere like IHOP or dennys who give you way too much food. Overall so good! read more

Cozy family friendly restaurant nestled on the end of town. It was obvious that visitors and locals alike love this place as it was busy for breakfast. Service was great . It was a perfect mix of checking in and giving us space. Only down side is we enjoyed our breakfast with mediocre coffee...always a sad thing when there's bland coffee to go with breakfast. The food was basic diner food but loved that it was less greasy than it could have been. I've been to some horrible diners. This place made breakfast like you would at home. Priced well it wasn't going to hurt my pocket to have a home-cooked meal here. Lots of choices with an option for cocktails. Always a plus in my book. read more

Based on reviews here, I stopped by for breakfast and found this place well worth the visit. Food was excellent as was the service. I'll be back. FYI, you'll be happy to know they have the same group of early rising, old timer regulars as every other worthwhile cafe/restaurant in America, solving all the problems of the world. When I see this, I know it has to be a good place. I didn't give 5 stars because I've only been here once. That 5th star comes from consistency. Tasty burger but not at $8.00. Very small like the same size as a fast food regular burger. And some of the worst service I've had in years. It was a seat yourself, sat for 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged and given a menu. table was set by not our waitress, drinks were brought by not our waitress, waitress did take order after another 20 minute wait. Almost got up and left then she finally came and took order. Food delivered again by someone other than our waitress, never checked on for drink refills or how everything was. This was one of the few breakfast places open early on a Sunday morning in Pendleton so we stopped hoping for a filling and tasty breakfast and left happy! The restaurant is clean and we were seated quickly. Breakfast is served all day and there are a variety of delicious breakfast options available. I had the ham scramble and ordered extra bacon on the side. The bacon is delicious. The eggs are fluffy and tasty with plenty of ham mixed in. We also got the home potatoes which are fresh and well seasoned. Mine also came with a pancake which was huge and I could only eat half. In all the food was tasty, the service was great, the prices were fair and the experience was pleasant read more

When i think of Pendleton i think of The Saddle. I grew up eating the biscuits and gravy here nearly every week, so i may be a bit biased. The prices are good, the staff are kind and like others have said, there's great parking. This is definitely more of a breakfast establishment, but the lunch can be great too. If you're out of town and want something nice and simple, saddles your number one place. read more

This was overall an average diner experience. I had a chicken fried steak that was actually a pretty nice piece of meat. The breading was a little greasy, and with the gravy over powered the actual steak, but it was decent. The salad was only an iceberg lettuce mix, not even cucumber slices or cherry tomatoes. The Texas toast was simply buttered toast, not the thick buttery goodness of true Texas toast. My friend had the hamburger vegetable soup. Again it was just OK. The carrots seemed freshly cut but the other vegetables seemed like they came from a can. The focaccia was an interesting side for the soup. read more
