From the initial viewing online The Sage Hotel looked like a great hotel to book. It is in a centralized location and from the photos the rooms looked up to date and modern. However, after staying there the pictures were just a facade. The rooms were stale, staff were not helpful and the location was loud. Our room and bathroom door did not lock. We found a spider and spider web underneath our pillows and the walls were so thin we could hear everything happening above us and outside of our door. I do not recommend staying here if you have little children, it felt sketchy, dirty and unsafe. If you don't mind sleeping with spiders and having a decent breakfast, this might be the place for you!

Reasonably clean, comfortable, and quiet. About what you would expect to get for this price point in a place like Santa Fe. Front desk was comatose and didn't know how to check me in. Not a very welcoming environment. Made no eye contact and didn't smile once. A lot of yelling in Spanish outside of the hotel room by employees of the property during the day, which I attribute to local flavor. Mold in the bathroom. Musty smell in the rooms. Only one towel available. One of the outlets didn't work. Just an OK experience. I second (or third, or fourth) the motion that this is a motel that has been superficially and cosmetically upgraded to present as something that it's not. Obviously, so that they can charge more. Very meh.

This was a great hotel for us! It's close to the Railyard Park and the Farmers market, which is a must do! My friend and I got 2 rooms with two queen beds. It's clean and the rooms have been updated. There is a $15 resort fee which covers the hot breakfast, which is well worth it! There is also an outdoor pool and a small fitness room. This isn't fancy but totally met our needs. Plenty of parking.

There are really kind staff members here. My room was clean, the bed was comfy, and when I needed an extra washcloth, I was given one. I was only in my room to relax after walking around all day and to sleep. The room met all needed requirements. The restaurant off of the lobby is good. Nice servers there as well. They have different activities/events each night if the week. I think karaoke was on Sunday when I was there. They also have a game night, and then this blue grass band comes to play as well. Pretty cool. A lot of locals seem stop by the restaurant. Not a lot of options for the breakfast that is included with your booking.

Random human hair on the walls

Do not get suckered by the photos! The website makes it look so tidy, clean, and modern. The Sage (a "concept" hotel) is anything but... The experience: 1. This hotel is obviously an old motel that has been very poorly renovated. - Walls are dirty and poorly painted - Furnishings are beaten to hell - The flooring was not installed well and there are big gaps that capture dirt and - HVAC is really old and loud - The walls are paper thin. We were on the first floor and could hear EVERY step and sneeze that happened in the room above us. Also, the random drunk people hanging out outside our room... - Lastly, there's a reason the images on the site don't show you the bathrooms... ours was definitely not touched during the renovation -- it was so gross and outdated. 2. It is the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in. When we arrived, the room smelled really strongly of bleach, which would make you think it was clean... we were so very wrong. A few things of note: - Dead bugs on the desk - There was hair stuck all over the walls in the bathroom - A mysterious brown/black "stuff" was spilled all over the walls in the bathroom - Mold growing inside the shower knob - The TV remote was covered in this plastic bag that was filthy 3. The Room Amenities: - There were three flat pillows on the king-sized bed and nothing but a sheet and a thin blanket. - Towels, you get two thin towels. That's it. - There's no microwave, so you'll need to use the communal one in the lobby. It was covered in old food and human hair. - The fire alarm is mysteriously covered in a plastic bag? - They bought the cheapest TV available -- the quality if horrendous. - WIFI is super weak and unreliable. Hope you weren't trying to do any work!

    Toxic mold

, I am filing a formal complaint regarding a significant health hazard encountered at the Sage Hotel, located at 725 Cerrillos Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87505. On the evening of June 18, 2025, my companion and I checked into Room 286 at approximately 8:44 PM. Within less than two hours, both of us began experiencing immediate and severe physical symptoms, including: - Swelling in the ears, nose, and eyes - Skin irritation and rashes (photo attached) - Respiratory discomfort and sinus inflammation Upon inspecting the room, we discovered visible black mold along the base of the bathroom wall and doorframe. The affected area appears to have been painted over, trapping mold beneath deteriorating, bubbling paint and sealant. I have included photographs documenting this hazard, as well as the physical reaction I experienced. As someone with a documented mold allergy and a history of mycotoxin poisoning, this exposure triggered a strong reaction. I do not currently have health insurance, so I was unable to seek immediate medical treatment, despite needing it. Instead, I documented the symptoms as best I could and checked out of the hotel at approximately 10:25 PM, under duress and with physical discomfort. I respectfully request that your office: 1. Immediately inspect Room 286 at Sage Hotel for mold contamination and air quality issues. 2. Require the hotel to undergo certified mold remediation and provide public documentation before reopening the room to future guests. 3. Record this incident with appropriate health and lodging authorities. 4. Consider potential violations of public accommodation safety standards. If this situation is not promptly investigated and corrected, I reserve the right to escalate it to consumer protection and legal authorities. Please confirm receipt of this complaint. All supporting documentation, including photographs and a detailed incident timeline, is available for review.

When we drove in, the parking lot was just about full and the space that was available was too small for my truck. The security guard who I wish I could remember his name as he was such a gem, let me know that he will park my truck for me. He had a fabulous Texan accent and he was just the nicest man. He said go on inside and check in and when you come back out, I will park your truck for you. The woman who greeted me inside was so lovely. She said I am so glad you are here! You are our last guest to arrive and I will get you all checked in. It felt like we were in a different time almost, it was so cozy and quaint. Our hotel room itself was perfect. We had two beds and they were so comfortable and the linens were fabulous. The wall hangings and paintings were gorgeous. The bathroom was adorable and had pretty New Mexican tile. Even the carpets and rugs were beautiful. They do have a restaurant and room service. They have a complementary breakfast cooked to order which is something I have never seen before. Unfortunately we were so tired the next day we missed the breakfast, but we will definitely book another stay in this hotel. The reception area is beautiful and has lovely couches and sitting areas. The paperwork in the rooms is extremely thorough and will tell you everything you need to know, from room service to if you have difficulty parking your car to nearby restaurants and sightseeing. I did not read all of the paperwork when I first got to the hotel and in the morning I called for coffee to be delivered to my room. I later saw that coffee is actually set out for guests in the reception area so the woman who brought me the coffee really only did it out of kindness. I definitely felt like this hotel gives five star service.

And they didn't hv any 2 bed rooms available. So I found this place And in that week between Christmas and New Year's we still wanted to catch the Christmas lights and farolitos And if you too are about location, location, location This was perfect If you've ever had to drive to Santa Fe, you know that parking can be a bear -- and it was, with a lot of the main streets blocked off in anticipation of NYE celebrations. The hotel is actually quite a large, sprawling complex, much deeper that what might be assumed when pulling in. We got there mid-afternoon so could park rt in front of our first floor room. I hadn't even thought about that but my creaky knees were happy and quite relieved to only hv to haul my wee bag up 7 steps or so. Check in was easy, if a bit crowded, as a lot of regulars like to show up a bit early too. The doorman was a very polite young man and everyone made us feel welcome. The older gentleman at the counter was a font of information And made sure we knew abt the Happy Hour Short and sweet Whatever you do: try the biscochitos! (The official NM state cookie, fyi - for a reason - when done right, and these definitely are!) Everything was very clean Even with all the Christmas decorations and greenery out There's an excellent restaurant on site And when they say there's "a bit of a kick", and shd you be a wuss like me, order the spicy on the side. Staff was very considerate abt this. And breakfast is pretty good too! And it was so easy to walk to everything, stuff I usually don't get to see bc I'm usually on the other side of town. All in all, a lovely stay

I can't say enough the value you get for your money. This was my first experience at Drury motel. This hotel should be the flagship. They are doing it right!!! I have traveled for the last four years for club volleyball and stayed at a a lot of hotels and motels. This one is at the top for me. The valets offered a warm welcome that set the tone for our entire stay and the front desk check in was friendly and efficient. In fact, every single staff member we came into contact with was an absolute delight. From the manager who we encountered each afternoon and always took the time to engage with us, to the awesome lady with the funky makeup who served the complimentary afternoon drinks. Everyone we came into contact with was lovely, even the lady bussing tables was a delight. Our room on the 2nd floor was ok, it was very long and narrow and despite having plenty of sq ft, the layout made it feel small. The bathroom was decent and the linens, towels and amenities were a good quality. Each day at 5.30pm the hotel offers complimentary drinks and snacks. We checked it out once; the cocktails, although served with a big smile, were cheap and sugary (as expected). The food (pasta and baked potatoes with fixings, hot dogs and popcorn), wasn't to our taste but many of the guests with children appeared to be making a full dinner out of them, so that is definitely a great feature for families on a budget. The location is really good, no more than a 7 min stroll from everything in the historic center of Santa Fe. I would recommend this hotel for family road trips and business travelers on a tight budget. The staff make this hotel a place you should consider if you're ever coming to Santa Fe.

But where? Reviewers touted the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear.....and they were right. Pros: - Location: Central. Just south of the downtown area and a 15 minute walk to Canyon Road. - Exterior: A sprawling property in a residential neighborhood. Several smaller buildings seem to have been added over the (many) years to the main building seen on most photos of the property. - Interior: Like going back 100 years. Things were fixed, of course...especially in public spaces...but you might feel as if you're in a living museum. - Our Room (Witter Byner): Large and rambling. More than enough room for 2 people plus a balcony overlooking the front of the property. Very comfortable. I could live there for a month if we didn't mind going up and down 15 stairs to the main floor. One interesting aspect: The bathroom. It was very nice and fully equipped, but separate from our room and down 5 stairs. That wasn't a problem during the day, but a few nights were an adventure - Breakfast: Unreal. Everything was homemade with great taste. The buffet portion had sliced fruit, granola, juices, pastries and yogurt. The hosts and kitchen staff had 3-5 entrees available each day. I rarely tried those since I filled up on the buffet, but my wife ate one every day and only had good things to say. Service at the community table was gracious and unhurried with lots of interesting conversation. - Amenities: A 1-2 hour Happy Hour every day starting at 430 or 5 PM. Fresh cookies, fruit, tea and jug water were available all day (coffee from 630-10 AM). Umbrellas. Plenty of smiles. - Hosts: Everyone was very friendly, helpful, informative and even charming. Special thanks to Aileen (sp?). - Housekeeping: Effective, efficient and unobtrusive. - Parking: Sufficient. The large courtyard in front of the of the property provided enough room for cars in the 11 room B&B. - Price and Value: Reasonable. It's not cheap, but as in most cases you get what you pay for. We'd heartily recommend the Inn Of The Turquoise Bear, but make reservations well in advance.

The door frame lets light in, the floors creaked like a haunted house, and the entire layout felt like it was designed by someone who's never actually had to sleep there. There were no privacy blinds, only wooden shutters, and the artwork provided enough clutter to fill the room just in case you forgot your own luggage. Breakfast was the big show! Most of what we were served was delicious. For an extra $45 per person, you'll be given whatever the kitchen feels like making that morning... no choices, no allergy considerations, and not even a glass of water. During our most recent stay, our vehicle was one of at least three that were broken into with many very large/heavy items stolen overnight while parked in the hotel's paid parking lot. The lack of security measures, whether cameras, patrols, or staff presence, was disappointing and left us feeling unsupported after the incident. What was even more frustrating was management's response. When the answer to multiple vehicle break-ins is as we were told by the GM - there's nothing we can do and that cameras don't deter theft or help identify thieves - it's time for us to stay somewhere else. We understand that crime can happen anywhere, but guests paying for parking should reasonably expect the property to take security seriously and make an effort to protect them. What makes this especially difficult is that we've always loved this property. The hotel has a historic charm, a great location that makes it easy to explore Santa Fe on foot, and while the rooms aren't luxury accommodations, they always felt comfortable and familiar - like a home away from home. Through the years, the staff has consistently been friendly and welcoming. That's what makes this review so disappointing to write. What was once a 5-star experience for our family has dropped to about a 3-star experience because we no longer feel confident that our vehicle and belongings are safe while staying here.
