With that being said, it's been almost two years since I've had my hair trimmed. I've been eyeing this business for some time (like the whole time I haven't had my hair cut). I decided to finally give it a shot because the last time no new clients were being accepted this time around, it was, though. I reached out through Yelp and received a text very quickly from Ashley. We had such an amazing first chat or consultation. I sent her pictures of my hair so she could see the length and style. I never really know whether to say my hair is wavy or curly. She recommended a curl creme via text. I went and purchased yesterday, so we will see how that goes. But when I finally got to meet her, AMAZING . I asked if I could bring a friend who's like a sister to me and she agreed. Ashley is such an amazingg soul, so easy to talk too..and man her scalp massage is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I was sooo relaxed after that she has such amazing hands. I waited til after my blowout to leave a review. I just love it. The curls I have are more defined, and you can just tell she loves what she does. I'll be referring anyone and everyone who I hear needs a haircut.

So it had been three years since I had colored my hair, and I was looking to go a little lighter. She told me that in order to achieve that look, I needed to bleach my hair. I had told her from the beginning that I am very against bleaching my hair. I don't typically bleach my hair, and I had been coloring my hair for at least four years with another stylist without ever having to use bleach. But since she insisted that there was no other way around it, I went along with her suggestion. And lo and behold, my hair turned out exactly the way I knew it would, which was yellow and orange instead of anything close to what I had actually asked for. I will say that she did correct it a couple of days later and put a darker toner on it, but obviously, as time went on, that washed out pretty quickly. So when I went in for my appointment a couple of months later, I pointed out that my hair was now orangey and that I was looking to cover that up along with my roots. I thought we were just having a normal conversation about what I was looking for out of that appointment, and she started getting defensive and telling me that it was impossible that my other hairstylist had never used bleach on me while covering my roots and doing a balayage, which I assured her was not true. But it wasn't an aggressive conversation. I thought we were just having a casual talk about what I wanted. I even said several times that I didn't really know what my other hairstylist did, but all I know is that she didn't use bleach because she knew how I felt about that, and that I was open to whatever Chi was suggesting for me to do. She did my hair as normal, toned it down to get rid of the orange and yellow, and I was very happy when I left. The next day, when I texted her to make another appointment, she continued to bark on about the bleaching, which I was confused about because I thought we had moved on from that conversation. Then she released me as a client after four years. I did not realize until that moment that Chi has a very fragile ego and that questioning her, even in the slightest, about how my hair turned out was apparently not okay.

She uses organic color, so I know I'm not breathing toxins or being poisoned with ammonia when I get my highlights, and she has this special "shot" of treatment called Olaplex that she uses to condition and protect hair from damage when going a lighter color. This last time she did a balayage style color--hand painting strands so it looks natural and striking at the same time. I'm so in love with it! My hair has never looked so healthy or felt this silky. I can't recommend a Hairologist Organic Salon highly enough. I am nourishing my hair and everyone Who sees it can tell.
