I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I went in for a simple roots touch up, they did not make it blonde like the rest of my hair. They made it brown with reddish brass tones. Yuck. Sabrina did my hair and is very very unknowledgeable and new at doing hair, obviously. Nice person, but not who I would ever trust again to touch my hair. Yes, I was there. I went in and there was an appointment open the next day. Loved your Poway salon. Your salon is beautiful. I didn't bring the products back. I've been waiting for surgery on my knee and spine and it hurts to go anywhere. I put them into the "homeless box" (where every piece of clothes goes that isn't worn regularly, or products we can't use and everything that Amazon sends that doesn't work out. Instead of returning things, we put them out so people can use them and hopefully have a much better experience). My daughter takes the boxes to the parks or churches. So something good comes of them. Better than taking things to the good will where the homeless has no way of purchasing. So, I'm sure someone got some good of it. The boxes are completely gone within the hour. The hairdresser I got was totally great She's on the left side, maybe the second chair down. I think she has a niece. She was thinking about doing a Halloween haircut for my magazine, I just didn't follow up. She's very artistic. I am guessing I just didn't describe my cut right. I'm sure someone many other people love her, she's enjoyable company. These things happen. I have finally found a hairdresser that gets me. I just wanted to give people a heads-up about giving a detailed description of the hair they want. It's not a bad review. I did not have a bad experience, I had a non- experience with my hair. I'm not blaming her, I'm blaming me. The hair products I got were not spot-on. That happens too. I have curly hair naturally, but the hair cut I wanted required rolling under with air brush. The product I thought was to get out curls, was actually one for curls. The shine stuff I got was an arousal, and it just made my hair dryer. I was in a hurry, she just picked a few products and I purchased them. Again, my fault. It is what it is. I went for a haircut today with Ivanna and she did such an amazing job, she is also very kind and professional. You can tell she really loves what she does and cares that her clients are happy with their results. Firstly she gave me the best hair wash I have had in my entire life. I don't know if she gave me a scalp massage but I sure felt like a massage. The she carefully took her time to curate the cut that I wanted. She gave so much attention to the small details. I needed my hair done last minute and this place had an opening. I got my hair done by Sydney and she was amazing! I felt very comfortable with her and she's super easy to talk to. I wish this place was more affordable because I'd come back here again for the staff and care, but it was about $65 (without tip) for a blow dry and to curl my hair. I am so beyond lucky to have found this salon and Gina. I needed a side bang trim badly but trusted no stylists. Yelp brought me here and I cannot say enough about how amazing Gina is. Bang trim is around $15 (before tip). You also get like 20% off any product purchase as a 1st time customer (I bought a Bumble hair treatment spray on that visit). I came back recently to have some grays taken care of. I used to pluck them but that got tedious. Gina told me she could take care most of them with a 'root touchup' blended treatment of sort. I was nervous as my hair hasn't taken well to coloring in the past. The product she used had no ammonia so it's supposed to be better for your hair. The color only had to set for 20 minutes. She gives a great shampoo/condition as well. And the treatment included a blow dry. The overall price was so fair and worth it. My sisters have been raving how great the hair looks. I have been seeing Rebecca for a few years now. She is amazing! Everyone at the salon is very nice as well. It's a relaxing environment with very knowledgeable stylists. I'm sure I relate to many individuals that had to cut their significant other's hair at home, while also receiving DIY haircuts, all throughout the pandemic. I was one of them! The last professional haircut I received was all the way back in 2019, and since then, my fiance has been cutting my hair at home. I would say the worst part of DIY haircuts is cleaning up all the little pieces of hair everywhere in the house. They get all over the place!!! arg! Since I've pretty much been a hermit since the crazy 2020 days and don't receive much sunlight, because of low vitamin D (and probably stress) my hair has been thinning at an alarming rate. I had reached out to book an appointment via Yelp messaging, and the owner said clients can book through their website, which was super easy to navigate, view and select available time ranges and stylists. During my appointment, Brenda K. met me early in the morning for my "self-pampering day." She is super welcoming, made me feel at ease and totally cool with clients wearing their mask during their appointment. She asked what type of hair style I was looking for and if I had some pictures for inspiration, and unfortunately I didn't prepare a photo, but mentioned that I was looking for something low maintenance and easy to just roll out of bed and go to work! She said she had an idea and make it look cute as well! For an hour as Brenda was washing my hair and then snipping away, we chatting about everything, from the pandemic, how their business overcame the pandemic, to our backgrounds and family. It was almost like a pampering/therapy session! haha....the final result turned out perfect, my hair felt so light yet full, and really smooth. I loved how she was able to make my hair curl inwards at the tip. As I am writing this review 2 months after the haircut, my hair is still naturally curling in! Under the management of the owner, Alexis, the services are the highest quality for color, cut, blowouts and I recently had extensions. Their products used are also excellent. All the stylists there are clearly masters at their trade. I go to Nikki and she is amazing. My thin (and thinning more!) hair does not daunt her. Decided to try this hair saloon based on the good reviews. While it is clear that some of the people working there might be really talented, there is also someone that probably is not. I asked for highlights/balayage style and the result is totally screwed on the most visible parts. My mistake, being new there, was to ask "for anyone with experience with curly hair" while clearly should have asked for "anyone very experienced". If you go with a junior apprentice you'll get charged the same but at your own cost of pretty horrendous results! read more

When I made the appointment, I asked for a stylist who had expertise in shorter haircuts, and was told to book with Brenda. As for the services I received, I can without a doubt say that Nikki was able to give me the best hairstyle I have had since living in New York and it may be the best color job I have ever received! Nikki did corrective color and balayage to give me a gorgeous auburn-ish base with beautiful touches of copper and blonde balayage highlights. It is a welcome change from my blonde on blonde highlights. It was exactly what I needed. Oh and Rachel gave me an amazing blow out and big loose curls to finish off my visit.
