Paid $110 for a bad cut and very bad color. I told the hairdresser I wanted my hair to look like the poster on their wall. I repeatedly pointed at the photo. She still cut it too short. And she got hair dye ALL across my forehead, plus my neck and ears. I was very angry and complained, and they just kept telling me the dye will eventually wash off. The poor hairdresser spoke almost no English, which is normally not a problem for me. But you need to speak better English if communicating with customers is a big part of your job. I wanted to get my hair blow dried straight for my birthday, and since I live in walking distance to this location I decided to give it a try. I have long, thick curly hair, so sometimes some stylists don't want to work with my type of hair. Walked right in and Tammy was the one to take care of my hair. She did a fantastic job. She blow dried my hair and used a straightener at the end to really make it straight and my hair looked amazing. I wish I had taken a picture, but nevertheless I absolutely loved it. ***Honest experience Review*** The salon is clean and upscale looking. Tammy is skilled at giving a basic haircut. Tammy is most likely skilled in doing root touch-ups. Tammy most likely can blow dry hair. Tammy most likely can curl hair and or pin it up. Tammy is *not* skilled in coloring hair to produce highlights, baby lights, balayage, or create edgy or trending hair-coloring styles. Tammy is *not gifted or skilled in hair coloring. Tammy is a professional, these are her words. Tammy is kind. Tammy can be charming. $300 out of pocket experience for 3 hour bleach processing occurred to attempt to create black hair color as the base with wispy purple tips. After 3 days, the faint purple tips faded to an anemic purple color. The next shampooing at home was 2 days later and the tips are now brassy green. The texture of the full hair is dry. A second opinion was obtained by a male hair professional elsewhere and he noticed uneven coats of color under the hair. He also noticed splotches of red and orange colors underneath the strands of hair. Will need to grow it out and trim it often. Dye it to become an even color. Apply moisturizing treatments weekly. Strategy is now to wear beanies and baseball caps until everything sorts itself out. read more

New hair salon that took over Fantastic Sams. Prices are the same range as the price Fantastic Sams charged. They were able to take me in as a walk-in. There were only two workers, one of which I believe was the owner. Tammy did my hair and shampooed it for a basic cut with light layers. $33 for the cut and I left a tip of $3 so affordable. For sure there will be people pickier with their haircuts but I personally don't notice the difference between hairstylists charging $70 and up. Tammy was attentive and I could see the genuinity in how she conducted her business. So when you pass by Tammy's hair salon, I wouldn't rate it based off of how Fantastic Sams was. If anything, give her salon a try and keep in mind that this is a small business. Lastly, I am glad Tammy made sure to keep her mask on and I also did my part to keep it on, albeit by holding it up and folding the ear loops back. For a while there, I was reticent on getting a haircut especially since people weren't wearing their masks as customers in other salons. But it gets to that point where you realize there isn't a point if you're eating out anyway at a restaurant. Regardless, give Tammy's salon a try and leave a review too if you can. read more

Tammy spent 1 hours trying to add extensions to my hair, only for me to end up going to another hairdresser to fix them and be late to the wedding. DO NOT GO HERE! RUN! She's horrible and DANGEOUS!! Went back and Shala ruined my hair. She left me in foils for 30 minutes while she foiled someone else's whole head. She threw toner in my eye so I wouldn't see! She violently combed my hair to break it all off and now I have a lot less hair. She blow dried the hair directly in front of my eyes so that I couldn't see. She grabbed the scissors and physically attempted to cut my hair WITHOUT my permission so that I wouldn't see the breakage!!!!! She then charged me $150!! It was just supposed to be a touch up OR a partial highlight. She charged me for a $120 Full Highlight and an additional $30 for toner. When in the world does toner cost extra when getting highlights?! Never. I asked her to remove the charge. So my total was $120. I get to my car and see my hair is bright brassy orange and red and yellow. I try to touch it and it just snaps like spaghetti. I walked right back to ask for a refund and they told me to wait until they help everyone else. Then I had to wait for her to Finish her client, which is rude since the whole reason my hair broke off is that she left me in foils for half an hour while she did someone else's hair instead of focusing on mine. She came over, refused to give me a refund, called security, caused a scene. Not just that but she basically assaulted me! She put her face about 6 inches from mine and put her Index finger like an inch from my nose. Before I knew it she grabbed me by the shoulder!!!! I couldn't believe it. I was so calm and and told her it's not personal but look at my hair! It's broken off and yellow and red! She is a GHETTO, UNPROFESSIONAL, THUG. She ruins everyone's hair. That's why she made a whole new Yelp account. Because the old reviews were so bad. Now she still hasn't learned her lesson and she attacked me. I should have pressed charges for putting her hands on me. DO NOT GO HERE. I had a haircut at this salon with Shalla and let me tell you... I should have listened to my gut as soon as I sat on the chair. She immediately asked me for a review before even starting with my haircut. She said that there are other jealous businesses that left the salon bad reviews even if they've "never been there." Well ok. Here I am writing your review. I told her that I wanted to trim a couple inches off and she told me I shouldn't cut it shorter. It's my hair? Maybe she was just trying to make conversation, I don't know. I showed her a photo of what I wanted (which she barely looked at) and proceeded to chopping off my hair. I got nervous when she started cutting because she was just cutting them horizontally. I thought she was going to blend it later on but she never did. I asked her to fix my bangs because they were so rough around the edges and that bangs are supposed to look like that. Then, she only blow dried half of my hair. Like the upper half then left the bottom half wet. I had to ask her to dry my hair completely. I'm not sure why I had to ask that? Is is not a normal thing to do a full blow dry, not just half of my hair?? Anyway, she reluctantly did and when she showed me the back of my hair.... GIRL. OMG. I told her that I wanted her to fix it because it was so choppy with no blending whatsoever. She LECTURED me, saying that's how layering is supposed to be. She kept on gaslighting me, saying that it looks fine when obviously it was not. I told her that my hair is not how I wanted it to be and she said she's been doing hair for 25 years. Ma'am........ she didn't listen to my concerns and we went back and forth on why I think it needed more work. At this point I didn't want her to touch my hair anymore because she wasn't listening to my feedback. She kept on insisting that my hair looks great. After telling her that I didn't want her to touch my hair anymore, she PROCEEDED to cutting it shorter. Nope. I still paid, but now thinking about it, I shouldn't have. I like to get my hair cut very often because I do feel that being well manicured is very important and it shows, plus it feels GREAT! I try never to go on weekends because they are so busy and I think Amy is off on Wednesdays. It's very reasonably priced, especially being that they are located in the fancy Americana which everything there is over priced. Ever since I was a child I never liked my hair cuts and would alway cry after my hair was cut. After coming here, I'm always satisfied and pleased. This was my second time at the salon. Shala, the lady sitting at the desk told me Amy is not available but Tamara is so I accepted to get a hair cut with her. Tamara happened to be a very friendly and professional person. She listened and even though I said I'm not picky she listened carefully and confirmed couple of times. I would have given 5 star and a good tip because she deserves it, however, when it was time to pay, Shala charged me 45 $ for the service. Which is advertised at the entrance as you walk in . The price is 29 $ haircut for men and 39 $ for women! I paid 50$. I know I would have paid the same amount anyways but the fact that only part of it would go to Tamara and not all is not fair.
