Pimento cheese appetizer with the red pepper, jelly and fried pita bread A- MAZING!!!

Best steak EVER!!!! I'm from Tampa and it's better that Bern's Steakhouse! Pimento cheese with fried pita bread was amazing! Quaint little place, $$$ but VERY much worth it. So nice, you would think it should have had It a dress code, but it didn't. It was a perfect for our anniversary dinner! We had the pimento cheese app ( soooo good) that we couldn't finish, split the HUGE 16oz Ribeye ( did I mention the BEST STEAK EVER!) seared to perfection (medium rare) with green beans and whipped garlic, mashed potatoes , 2 extra house salads and 2 teas ( btw they have a wine & beer menu too). Our bill was only $100 and we left stuffed with boxes to go! Service was top notch! The restaurant is about the size of a smaller Starbucks and located in a small "downtown" building. If you blink, you will miss it! I'm sure the locals love that this is a hidden gem!

The best steak I've had at a restaurant along with great service made for an awesome time.

First The Menu Bait-and-Switch Their website menu and a customer-posted menu are identical both promise pita bread and tzatziki with entrees. We ordered based on that. When we called after getting home asking where these items were, they claimed it was "an old menu posted by a customer." Except their website/menu online says the same thing. Either fix your menus or stop lying to customers. The Portions were pathetic when told they were good sized and oh man the food was Flavorless! For $79 + tip, we got portions embarrassingly small. The grape leaves? Cold, wet, and bland could barely eat three. The rice was lifeless. The $37 "Fish of the Day" tilapia had ZERO flavor and no lemon even basic Mediterranean cooking demands lemon. The $30 salmon kabob was mediocre-sized and barely filling. Everything tasted like it was prepared with zero seasoning and zero effort and no soul. We had to season our own food at home. Our server was too busy with personal conversations to help properly. When handing us our to-go food, she literally said, "I didn't put gratuity on there but you guys can if you want" like she was doing us a favor by separating the hot items from the cold. We tipped anyway because we're good Samaritans when it comes to eating out. When we complained by phone, the response was hollow: "I'll let the Owner know to fix it" the only positive thing: Location is easy to find. That's literally it. The building is rundown, interior cramped with tables crammed together, decor is mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Better Mediterranean restaurants exist all over Destin. This is a cautionary tale of poor execution, dishonest practices, and staff that clearly doesn't care. 1/5 Stars - Never returning.

We hadn't eaten so we decided to try it. All I can say is "WOW"! Give me a board with fresh cheese, meats and sides and I am in heaven. Their boards do not disappoint. We also ordered the whipped cheese spread with baguettes. It was so delicious we asked the chef to come out so we could compliment her. The mixed drinks are delicious. Try the Old & New which is a copy of an Old Fashion. They have many wines and beers also. Our Burgunbarrel experience was so good we went back the next day to have another appetizer (deviled eggs), the Mama Mia board, and split a sandwich. Again, delicious, great service, and as great as the day before. Burgunbarrel is now in our top five for Panama City! Excellent addition to the beautiful St. Andrews.

We ordered a couple of boards and a few bottles of wine. The boards were good, but not quite filling enough for a full dinner for our group. The bartender was also serving tables, so service was a bit limited and we often had to get up and go to the bar since check-ins at the table were infrequent. Our table was also on the smaller side, which made it a little crowded once the wine and boards arrived. That said, we would absolutely go back -- especially as a date night spot for just the two of us to enjoy a glass of wine and a board as an appetizer while listening to live music.

There were a couple of people at the bar, others leaving, and one other seated party. So it wasn't packed on arrival, but once we were seated others began to arrive. The dining room isn't very big, it's quaint. Low lighting, white table cloth, candle lit, date night ambiance. Love it! Music playing: R&B jazz instrumentals; a little on the loud side, but not a deal breaker. There was no live music while we were there, but they do offer that on certain days. There is one unisex restroom, It appeared clean and nicely decorated, as was the rest of the restaurant. This place specializes in Charcuterie, meats, cheeses, wine, etc. But we were simply on the hunt for the best steak in Albany. Our server Hannah, was excellent! I hope she's there when I go back. She, and the rest of the staff were all perfect; a breath of fresh air in this customer service drought of a town. Hannah explained the menu, specials, what they offer on certain days, and everything else we wanted to know. She checked on us often, and we wanted for nothing. My husband and I don't drink, so we got a couple bottles of sparkling water and a soda. (This day they offered Pepsi products) For starters we had the Korean Duck Tacos and Bruschetta Al Pomodoro. The sauce on the tacos was a lot sweeter than I expected, but still delicious. Perfect tender meat, and choice toppings. The Bruschetta, was pretty good. But not anything I'd just HAVE to order again. My husband got a Medium Well Ribeye, collards, and creamed potatoes. He said the steak was a HIT:tender and flavorful. No complaints. He enjoyed the collards, and potatoes, as well. I had Lemon Herb half Chicken, Broccoli, and Creamed potatoes. The chicken, and lemon sauce were AMAZING! The chicken seemed brined, baked low and slow, so good. The broccoli tasted steamed and seasoned nicely. I'm not a fan of the potatoes. While they had great flavor, even without the lemon sauce; it was the texture. They were too loose. I prefer a thicker creamed/mashed potato. This establishment gets five stars, because customer service was exceptional, they go out of their way to give you a fine dining experience, and the food was overall fantastic! If you're in the area and in the mood for Charcuterie, or on the hunt for the best steak in Albany like we were: Come here! I do believe you won't be disappointed:)

The restaurant is very cozy with dim lighting and soft music playing in the background. This was our third visit to this restaurant and each time we have enjoyed a delicious meal. For our entrees we enjoyed a very tasty stuffed shrimp linguini and an interesting salmon Wellington with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Both portions were plenty for us to thoroughly enjoy! No room for desert this trip; next time we must plan our dinner meal just a little bit better. I'm sure that we'll arrange another stop over (and delightful meal) in Albany the next time we venture out into Georgia!

After a so-called "fine dining" restaurant completely failed to accommodate our party (with reservations), Hunt & Gather stepped in without hesitation and made our evening unforgettable. Our table ordered a little bit of everything, and every dish was outstanding -- elk burgers, baked fish, bolognese, filet mignon, and the quail quesadillas were all incredible. The lamb lollipops remain my absolute favorite, and the flash-fried Brussels sprouts were perfection. We also sampled all of the desserts, and not a single one missed the mark. Their beer and wine selection is fantastic as well, and the blackberry cider was especially delicious. A huge shoutout to our server, Paul, who was warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. He seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask. If you're looking for consistently amazing food, excellent service, and a restaurant that truly knows how to take care of its guests, do yourself a favor and visit Hunt & Gather.
