Fantastic, but expensive tapas restaurant located in the town center of Rosemary Beach. I loved my fruity and not overly sweet Blister in the Sun cocktail. Serrano wrapped figs were delicious, but tiny. The Seafood Paella and fish tacos were both nice sized portions for the price and the paella had lots of tasty shrimp, clams and lobster tail. We also enjoyed the blue crab rangoons, pan seared scallops with charred corn, and hummus with pita and crudites. No reservations are accepted so arrive early for a table indoors. Our choices were: - Dark chocolate fondue $16.00 (my daughter and I couldn't stop eating it, so delicious) - Serrano ham-wrapped figs $8.00 (the only problem with them is that they are mini-sized, because they were wonderful) - Espresso martini $14.00 (what a delicious drink, coffee and alcohol in just the right proportions, simply perfect). Our experience here started with an awkward greeting. Especially during the afternoon, we realize it's probably not enjoyable to stand outside; however, even after catching glances from employees there was no action from them to greet us. We ultimately barged in and asked for seating. Although the seating was limited, everything was laid back for the most part. The espresso martini and molten lava cake were very enjoyable. A solid 9/10 on the martini. Unfortunately, those were the only highlights. When you look through the menu you'll see a few decent options, including the tuna ceviche. Unfortunately, this is the ultimate trap. I'll admit the flavor was there but it's very hard to get over the portion size. We are very aware that tapas are supposed to be small bites but we thought this was a little on the stingy side. But not a problem, if you're 2 years old, you'll definitely leave on a full stomach. Prices and portions aside, everything we ordered was quite average. Seems to be the common theme around here. If you are looking for an elevated experience, I'd encourage you to look elsewhere! This place was worth the wait. Our waiter Dave was wonderful and perfectly timed our rounds of ordering and checking on us. He was friendly and on point with recommendations. The food at La Crema was easily one of the best spots we enjoyed during our weekend at Inlet/Rosemary Beach. My favorites were the brussel sprouts and empanadas. The one downside: the drinks. While waiting we could order from the side window to the bar, however, it took about 10-15 minutes to get one drink. My drink wasn't bad, but for the price I wouldn't have gotten it again. The sangrias, however, were a good portion for the price and delicious. Go that route! read more

We have several dishes the Serrano wrapped fig, Malaga shrimp, albóndigas, Brussels sprouts and they were all average, nothing write home about, except for the Brussels sprout, those stood out, good pinch of flavor, acidity and sweet well-balanced. The figs were the greater disappointments, simply tasteless. Service was good, friendly, attentive, helpful, even though they were busy they had time for us without making us feel rushed. The ambiance was normal, that of a small very busy restaurant. Trying the appetizers was the test to determine if we would venture for the paella. We decided not to venture for the paella after trying the appetizers. It's the decent place for tourists visiting Rosemary. Not a cuisine-specific destination restaurant. Deserves 3.5 stars but going for 4 because of their ability to handle a heavy rush and keeping the good attitude. read more

I had the cranberry goat cheese salad with a light vinaigrette and a tapa of scallops in brown butter, topped with charred corn. The scallops were so salty; I thought it was just one, but one after the other were too salty, but they were extra nice and accommodating to us and they took it off the bill. They wanted us to leave having a good impression of their good faith and we definitely did. I had a glass of champagne and we were energized enough to go to town and shop some more. La Crema is one of the more popular restaurants in the area, and on paper, it checks all of the marks: no reservation, tapas, unique drink menus, but it did not meet any expectations. Must get: ?fish tacos, ?crab cakes Meh: cerviche (avoid), steak tostado, fig, lobster mac n cheese Missed: n/a We spent almost $200 on a few tapas with 2 drinks and left hungry and disappointed. The worst offender was the ceviche, which was like eating Costco tuna on Sunday, marinated in last-minute vinaigrette. The figs were criminally tiny and the crab cakes were over fried and nearly bathing in tartar sauce. The plating seemed to depend on micrometer slices of tasteless radishes and left everything to the imagination. The drinks were overpriced, and my only regret was getting immediate seating, as it could have convinced us to look else where. Honestly, I think a pizza joint would have been better. We had the brussel sprouts, fish tacos, and shrimp bread dish - I'd recommend them all. The fish tacos were definitely the best. The fish tasted so fresh. The one regret is not getting an espresso martini or the chocolate fondue (or any dessert). They are 100% known for their dessert so if you go, don't miss out. There is not one thing here that misses. I have been coming to La Crema for years now on an annual girls trip and our experience with the staff a this year absolutely SURPASSED anything we've ever experienced here in Rosemary Beach. Perhaps it even topped any experience we've ever had at a restaurant before. We had a 6 week old baby with us this time and when we arrived to the hostess stand for our long awaited chocolate fondue and lava cake (we look forward to this all year), we got the devastating news that the waitlist was full and that we wouldn't be able to sit down tonight, our last night. HOWEVER, the incredible manager, David, came over and made our dreams come true! He found a way to get us our favorite desserts in a very time efficient way, which was just wonderful with the teeny tiny baby in our party. He was so thoughtful, kind, and even personally helped us throughout our time at La Crema tonight. We could not stop talking about how he made our night so wonderful and truly made the impossible happen. In a world where sub-par customer service is not only treated as acceptable but the norm, David absolutely provided the very best dining experience this evening. I hope his supervisors gave him a raise because he made our whole entire trip! We will truly never forget his act of kindness, it was the most wonderful end to a great trip! Oh where to start? I've been coming to La Crema for years, and tonight's dinner was so bad there are only two possibilities: 1) This restaurant was purchased by someone who actively hates joy, flavor, and paying customers, or 2) The entire staff is participating in a covert social experiment to see how far they can push diners before someone flees into oncoming traffic. The food? Truly astonishing -- and not in the way a restaurant hopes for. Everything tasted like reheated frozen samples rejected by Costco. The "lobster" mac and cheese featured what I can only assume was krab meat, and it was nearly inedible. The empanadas were limp, soggy little purse-shaped disappointments. The Brussels sprouts looked like they'd been left in a tanning bed and then chickened out halfway through -- leathery on the outside, raw on the inside, and fully confused about their purpose in life. The patatas bravas were a soggy, joyless heap -- potatoes the way a villain in a Dickens novel might serve them. Anybody know how to get a hold of Gordon Ramsay? Kitchen Nightmares needs to get a crew out here ASAP. read more
