This was just the place for some much needed relaxation time. I mean for real, if you need some time to just completely mellow out, mediate, and even fall asleep, the Salt Escape is the place to go. Located in downtown Arlington Heights, the Salt Escape is a unique experience where you get to come in and rest in their relaxing, dim lit, salt-encompassed room. I mean it was literally one of the coolest places I've been to in the area. People have birthday parties and events here, too, which I learned when I was there. They also sell a lot of cool products like salt lamps, different oils, fluffy blankets, etc. They have sessions almost every hour where you can book online or call in advance. During these sessions you have around an hour to rest, sleep, meditate, and breathe in the benefits of all that Himalayan salt. You won't want to leave that room! (Each session is $40) The owner here is awesome; he tends the front desk and phones a lot. Super friendly guy who will answer any questions you may have. They also have the sweetest dog, Betty, that's here everyday! SO adorable! I do want to add that I've came here once before (probably 2 weeks ago) during their open hours to find their door locked and no one in sight except their cute dog, Betty, who barked for a little and then sat and rested. I called them twice when I was outside their door but no one answered. I waited around 5 minutes just in case they went to the bathroom or something but still nothing. I see some other reviews mention this happening to them, as well, so just beware! I'd call first before stopping in. Overall this is one of the coolest experiences Arlington Heights has to offer, and that's coming from someone who grew up and is still living here. You'll see me booking another session after my next stressful day! ;)

The Salt Escape is a unique experience is the heart of downtown Arlington Heights. Park in the parking garage below Starbucks/Bath and body works etc. The Salt Escape is in a shop upstairs by the old movie theatre and noodles and company. There is a Groupon available for $40 for two people for one hour - I think it's a pretty decent deal. You arrive 15 minutes early before your appointment, remove your shoes and jacket and then you can enjoy the room, from my understanding it is the biggest Himalayan salt room in America. The walls are made of the salt - there are ocean sounds everywhere, comfy beds with the salt on them, no gravity chairs to relax in, a meditation room with bean bag chairs and noise cancelling headphones are available for you to use as well. I left feeling really relaxed and like my sinuses were cleared/no congestion. I'd recommend if you're in the area and want to try something relaxing that's really different.

First time checking out this escape. Very quit when entering, loved the puppy walking around. Owner or management was very friendly explaining the salt escape and the steps before entering. Once we got settled down inside it was well worth our money. Very relaxing, you can feel the demerit, the soft music puts you to sleep and even some areas are warmer which was a plus. We will be back.

love this place very relaxing and helps me when my muscles are tense or in pain and when I'm feeling exhausted and run down. it's very cozy I like the set up you have several options on where you can sit and or lie down even hot salt stones are provided if you would like to enhance your experience. I also have bought cbd creams made by the owner that are scented with mango or frankensence essential oil. handa down they are amazing and worth every penny whether It's pain you have from the gym any type of knee/joint pain, from texting or typing and or yard work it works for anything and everything. since now it's cold flu season he even has a chest rub made from menthol and essential oils that works way better than Vicks vapor rub. I enjoy coming here and if you buy packages directly through owner he will honor groupon pricing and he always has great promos for the holidays. I'm Def now a regular here.

What a magical place of peace. You'll feel transported to a different place. Far from the hustle and bustle. Arrive 10ish minutes before your session to browse the little shop area, use the restroom, lovk away your phone and valuables if you like, take off your coat and shoes and off you go into the room. You can choose to sit in salt, lay in it, on zero gravity chairs or - my absolute favorite: a heated amethyst mat! They have soft sound playing and ear things to tune it out. Lots of blankets if you're chilly. You can softly roam around too and relax for an hour until someone comes to softly nudge you awake or letting you know that the session is complete. The walls are made of salt. There's loise salt everywhere along with crystals. A few hooks for belongings inside the cave / room too. I've been twice! The first time it took me a while to settle in. Accept the calm. No phones, no distractions. The second time I meditate and went on a little manifestation journey. Pure bliss!

WOW! AMAZING PLACE. Mommas if you need to just get away and relax? This is the just the place for you. My skin, hair and also my sinuses feel great. I came home feeling amazing and slept amazing. Beautiful place, very comfortable and you cannot beat the price. I will definitely be back. Owner is just the friendliness person you can also meet. Thank you so much.

Reading about it, it became clear that is was a beer-like solution, and closer to a hop-scented herbal bath. Ok that definitely sounded better. There are also other spa amenities, and it's just you and the people you came with in each room/treatment area. So I came here with my wife, and it turned out to be the perfect relaxing, fun (and slightly gimmicky) activity between a morning of site-seeing/walking around Chicago, and an evening dinner/show. We did the silver package. Arrived a few minutes early and changed into robes/slippers (minor nitpick #1: my sandals were comically small for me, it would be nice to have bigger ones to choose from) then headed to the salt room. The room itself is very relaxing, even with periodic subway rumbling. (Minor nitpick #2: we both wished the bottom of the chairs were more padded). After a trip to the Sauna (we did not last long) and the steam room (which had a cold shower inside that was extremely nice to cool down) we headed downstairs for the soak (with fresh drinks and a snack platter). The soak was very relaxing and gave your skin a light hoppy/floral scent. Everything seemed clean and well-organized. Definitely would recommend for a unique couples' spa package.

I was super early for my appointment so I waited in the waiting area. I was greeted with a warm welcome and was offered water and a chill glass of Prosecco Wine. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing the moment I walked in the door. The serenity and peace was just what I needed to kick off my birthday. I started off with the halotherapy, followed by sitting in the sauna to sweat out all the toxics, after the steam room. The steam room is where my mind and body connected with pure joy. After it was time for my beer spa, when I walked inside the room. I was in an awe moment of a surprise. The room was beautifully lit with candles, there was a chalk board with a happy birthday message. Along with a small charcuterie board and more wine and water. It was such a luxurious and beautiful experience. This was one of my favorite places to come celebrating my birthday. I will absolutely come back to enjoy another Self Care Day. Great place to unwind, release stress and detox your mind body and soul.

There are a variety of services to choose from, but the various baths of different temperatures and salt engage the senses like no other. It's co-ed, and you can move between baths at your leisure. There's even a semi-outdoor waterfall bath. The variety is wonderful. There's a salt shower area that you could rub salt on yourself which feels wonderful. I really enjoyed the sauna which had an aromatherapy component to it and a cold plunge inside. I didn't think I could do it, but the hot temps made it easier to get into the cold water. Service here is splendid, and reservations need to be made so that over-crowding doesn't happen. This makes the experience of coming here much more enjoyable. You can really unwind, relax, and come out of this feeling refreshed.

There is staff around so if you have any questions, that can be answered. The locker rooms are clean. There are a couple private changing rooms and, of course, cuz it is separate from the men, you can choose to change in the open. You change into your bathing suit and they provide a robe. Within this locker room, there are showers available and there is also an area provided to get ready AFTER the services are complete. It has hair dryers and spray deodorant and I think lotions. They do provide "wet slippers". They fit like no show socks so there's no need for any kind of flip flop type shoe to protect your feet. I have no review for the men's locker room cuz... Well. I'm not a man. BUT my husband had no complaints. When ready, you meet your partner and go to the "bath" area. They have all kinds of hot tubs and steams rooms and cold plunges and just yeah. It's pretty cool. You hang your robe and in you go. There is also a juice bar and the juices are delicious. Again, there is plenty of staff to assist with any questions you may have. If you booked a massage, and, of course, why not? They will let you know when it's time. You go upstairs and get the best massage of your life. I had a female masseuse and my husband had a male one. Once done, back into the locker room to get ready for the rest of your day/evening. It was a pleasant experience. It was also quite pricey. This was gifted to me and my man. Not sure if we would have extra funds to splurge within our own budget. This is downtown Chicago. Parking is NOT provided. Although they do offer valet.
