BLT salad with smoked turkey & homemade creamy basil dressing

Delicious bbq lunch, immediately off Rte 104 West, Sodus. We've heard rave reviews and now we know why. Friendly staff. Clean cozy indoor dining or you can eat outside on the many picnic tables. BBQ smoked wings, pulled pork sandwich, BLT salad with smoked turkey....so good. Plenty off street parking. Limited hours so check their website. Enjoy!

The food is always a hit. This was my second time going and the customer service was amazing. The owner knew my friend by her order which shows how well they know their customers. The ambiance was nice, it's a little small but it was packed with people. The food is always consistent and delicious. Would recommend!

We stopped on a rainy Saturday and had the best meal I've had in awhile! Great little place with atmosphere to sit and talk with friends. There was a unique selection of about 5 beers and cider. You order at the counter and everything is brought to the table. The servers were friendly and efficient. We ordered a BLT (with thick in house bacon) , pulled pork, brisket and a BLT salad. The soup of the day was kelbasah corn chowder which was so yummy. Everything was hot, homemade and delicious. Prices were affordable. Well worth the drive from Fairport. We will be back for sure!

Pretty good BBQ. The spot is really in the middle of nowhere but was near where our airbnb was so we figured we would check it out. It was affordable and pretty casual- you just order at the counter and they bring it to you. There are drinks as well! Not a bad dinner if you're in the mood.

The Saltbox Smokehouse is just the kind of place you hope to stumble on. Fantastic food, cozy & friendly environment and beer on tap. We have been here two times now while staying at Sodus Point, once for breakfast and most recently for dinner. It's counter service- you order and pay up front and your meal in brought out quickly. The breakfast was solid- I remembered it needed a touch of salt but that is easily remedied. Dinner last night was fantastic both the meat and sides are terrific. The brisket was the best I've had so far in NY- no sauce needed. The salt potatoes and Mac and cheese both shined. The chocolate chip cookies are a must try. There are some weekend specials like ribs and prime rib in addition to the regular menu. They serve the lunch and dinner menu starting at 4. The staff is awesome.

Overall very good food!! My favorite thing we got was the baked beans (yum!!!). My husband loved his whole meal (pulled pork sandwich and sides). My salad and mac and cheese were both pretty good, but the brisket and mac and cheese were a little more dry than I typically prefer. Everything tasted great though. The staff was very nice and they had a bunch of picnic tables set up outside which was perfect for a sunny afternoon. We will definitely go back next time we're in the area.

Forgot to take a photos before I ate most of the ribs. This looks like a brisket because all the meat on the ribs!! They are amazing!!!

Top notch barbecue and a store to boot. I was fortunate enough to get to try their baby back ribs. Typically they aren't on the menu, you have to call and find out what it is that day. As advice, they run out fast, so you can call and reserve early on in the day. I called at 2pm and reserved a rack of ribs for 630 (they were almost sold out by 2pm!). Amazingly when we showed up everything was ready. I am a rib snob but these were incredible. They had sooo much meat it was like a brisket (which they also have), just look at the photo! The ribs are as good as it gets. They also sell items to go: -smoked bacon: the cherrywood maple is insanely good -beef jerky: moist, delicious, and huge cuts -smoked turkey: you can't miss, smoked to perfection -smoked cheeses: haven't tried but I need to All around amazing bbq spot

My husband and I were traveling west toward Rochester. We stopped at The Saltbox Smokehouse near Sodus, NewYork. I had the Knucklehead- pulled smoked pork. It was amazing. The bun was soft but didn't get gummy and the pulled pork was better than my favorite place back home. They provided several choices of homemade sauce. I chose the dilly beans for a yuside (I was thinking some kind of baked beans). They were actually pickled green beans. Someone who likes pickles would probably love them. Unfortunately I don't like pickled things. My husband had the smoked meatball sandwich and really liked it also. To top it off we got a chocolate chip cookie as large as a grapefruit - yum! I would recommend going a little out of the way to try it.

Delicious smoked turkey. (the sandwich was very nicely made, I'm the one who made it sloppy as i ate it lol)

Stopped here for a sandwich at the end of our road trip. the 2 young guys working were super lovely and patient. they made our sandwiches with such tender loving care! It took a little longer than a regular deli but it was well worth it. My friend got turkey and i had chicken salad. Both meats were moist and deliciously smoked and so fresh tasting. We also picked up some bacon to take back to our rental. That was an excellent decision bc the bacon was out of this world. We especially loved the apple bourbon bacon. YUM! The guy excitedly told us he makes many more flavors and they change all the time. would love to come here again if im ever in the area. They have plenty of parking and lots of room to sit and eat outdoors, as well as some limited seating indoors.

I came to The Saltbox yesterday (8/17/18) with my boyfriend for breakfast but I can't wait to come back for lunch and dinner! The young lady who took our order was very friendly and helpful. Our food was served by owner and and pit-master James which was a pleasant surprise! We both got the Smokehouse Skillet and a cup of coffee - wow, were we pleased. It was pretty silent between the two of us because we were both focused on scarfing down this delicious meal! The best part was biting into the little chunks of bacon that packed a powerful flavor punch. The sausage was perfectly spicy and delicious, too. We bought some meat to take home with us: smoked kielbasa and their apple bourbon bacon. I haven't had a chance to try the bacon but the kielbasa was amazing - so flavorful, smoky, and extremely savory. tldr; smoked meat = delicious. go now!

Doesn't look like much from outside, but the inside has a nice, small, quiet eat in area. I have gotten takeout from here multiple times, but this is my first time eating in. The food is always great. I enjoy the brisket and pulled pork the best out of the things I have tried so far, but look forward to trying a few other things on their menu. They offer several different options for sides with your meal. Their dilly beans are the best I have ever had. I often order more than one helping of them, they are that good.

We called to order our food ahead of time then headed over from Palmyra. Our food was hot and ready to go. The food was excellent. We tried the smoked wings which came just how we ordered them (well done). The brisket was amazing as was the pulled pork sandwich that my boyfriend ordered. We will definitely be back!

Coming in on a Tuesday night, the place was busy and the wait was about 30 minutes -- but there was free seating at the bar. Fair enough, not many restaurants were even open in Geneva on a Tuesday. The food was solid -- nothing extraordinary, but nothing to complain about either, and the presentation on those big plates is genuinely fun. The lady bartender had her hands full preparing drinks while also serving everyone seated at the bar, including food orders. It was sometimes hard to catch her attention, but overall she did a great job juggling it all. What really bothered me: the owner (CB) is one of the few Master Sommeliers in the world and a big promoter of the FLX wine region (which I love), so can anyone explain why a glass of FLX wine costs about 40% more than a glass of California or even Australian wine? That's not exactly "Think NY, Drink NY" -- despite those charming stickers around the restaurant (which I do love).

My wife was given a gift card for Skippers for her birthday, and over the weekend, we decided to go use it. It's situated somewhat in a residential neighborhood with a few parking spaces in front of the restaurant. We were sat right away. It was an early dinner for us, around 4PM. There were a couple other tables sat, but the restaurant was mostly open. We asked for an outdoor seat and were brought right back. The inside of the restaurant is large with 2 floors and was very dark inside. We were given our menus. Took a bit for our server to get to us, but no big deal. I ordered the risotto with chicken and a virgin pina colada while my wife got the lobster stuffed haddock with a drink special. As someone who doesn't drink alcohol, I always appreciate a restaurant that offers mocktails. Again, not a ton of tables sat, but it took a bit for us to get our food. Luckily, it was a beautiful day to just sit and look out onto the water. Our food was brought over and we got to it. Portions were large, but we both felt the food was just okay. My risotto had very little flavor, and the chicken was completely unseasoned. My wife said her food was fine, but the onion rings were the stand out of her meal. Our gift card was for $80 and our 2 meals and drinks came to $86. Our server was very friendly, but the service was slow for the amount of people there. Beautiful view on the outside patio, but for us, that was the best part of the experience.
