The best bbq I've ever had, and I've had a lot of bbq. I got the 2 meat combo, which comes with 2 sides and cornbread. The cornbread was a giant slice, moist with delicious honey butter slathered on top. Ribs were very meaty with a great char, not too much fat. Pulled pork was delicious and not much fat. Mac salad was super creamy and the perfect texture. Tator tots were super crispy with a tasty dry rub dust. Help yourself station with 3 choices of sauce and little cups. All were tasty. I also ordered a side of white Alabama sauce, it was so delicious. Plenty of seating inside and a ton of varied seating outside with a lot of shade from sun. We almost left when we saw the long line out the door, so glad we stuck it out. We waited about 30 minutes just to order. Then the sign said "45 minutes to get your food after you order". Thankfully ours came in 20 minutes. Worth the wait if it took longer though. I would go back frequently if it wasn't a full hour from my house, but I'm already dreaming of going back. It's just okay. Judging by the line of this place you would think it was top notch. Let's talk about the pros. It's clean considering how busy it is. Portions were good sized. Food was good (not the best I have had in New York) Cons. I absolutely hated that I waited in line just to order for 30 mins. Then I found a table just to wait at least another 45 for my food. I have never waited this long for BBQ. You serve your self to get your drink and bbq sauce since they don't add any sauce or put any out on the table like most bbq places. This day they only had one sauce out. The honey mustard. Both the original and the hot bbq sauce were empty. I told the bartender and still nothing. This was a big disappointment to me. We visited Smokin Pete's for the first time on 4th of July. We arrived around 12:30 and only had a few people in front of us in line. You order first then sit. There is a large chalkboard menu, laminated menus, and their website seemed up to date. We ate outside but they had a lot of indoor seating as well. The food was delicious. Went on a Thursday night and the line was out the door. They ran out of the specials so decided to order the portobello mushroom with no cheese and the corn. The mushroom came smothered in cheese and the corn was cold and chewy. The ribs were very fatty and not as much meat as I would have expected. The elderberry spritzer was very good. I finally got to try Smokin Pete's! Delicious BBQ with a wide variety of sauces. Clean and comfortable inside with fun decorations. Versatile and expansive outdoor area. The service was very friendly and fast (around 2pm on a weekday), although I have heard there can be a wait if you go at a busy time. Brisket and ribs were falling apart, the beans were pretty good, the broccoli salad was perfect to lighten up the meal. We also got tots on the side and the bartender recommended Alabama white bbq sauce to go with them - the combo did not disappoint! Smokin' Pete's is a great spot for American BBQ, and our European guests really enjoyed it. It's a bit pricey, and I wish the portions were a bit larger. In hindsight, it would've been smarter (and probably a better value) for our group to order one of the larger platters to share, rather than getting several small combos. You order food at the counter and drinks at the bar. Plenty of seats indoors. We ordered the Kashong Cowboy Smash Burger ($22), Chopped Brisket Sandwich ($18), and the 2-Meat Combo Plate ($25), which includes two sides and cornbread. We picked sliced brisket, pulled pork, tater tots, and campfire beans. The brisket was the best! Super tender, flavorful, and had that melt-in-your-mouth quality. The campfire beans were also a hit. But I love BBQ beans. Pulled pork was also solid. The cornbread was fine but a little too plain; it could use more butter or moisture. The tater tots were too crunchy (dry). We ordered a 1/4 lb of turkey since there's no kid's menu and that was devoured easily. All meats are available by weight (¼ lb, 1/2 lb, etc.), if you want to order it this way. They offer a few different condiments (OG BBQ, Hot BBQ, Honey Mustard BBQ, and Ketchup), but the OG BBQ was the only one I liked. The honey mustard BBQ was too heavy on the mustard and didn't balance well. The vibe inside is awesome. Big Bills fan energy, with dollar bills hanging from the ceiling and tons of football memorabilia throughout the space. The food at Smokin' Pete's was fantastic! We came right at dinner time, around 5:30, and the line was long. We waited about 15 minutes to order. After we ordered, we got a table right away. The place was packed but it was a nice night so there were tables inside and tables outside around fire pits and fire tables. The ambience was awesome. Their tap list was great too. I always appreciate a tap list with local beers. Sauces and drinks were self serve so we were able to wash down the spicy sauce with as much soda as possible. A most amazing BBQ Dive bar joint! We stopped in for a quick drink since some friends had mentioned that they had an incredible selection of bourbon. They do. Incredible actually. We got a shot of Kentucky Owl and a Maple Bacon cocktail. Both were perfect. It helped that there was a Buffalo Bills game on the TV that they were winning. This was our fourth trip to the establishment. So after four times trying this BBQ spot, I can safely say... it's great! The atmosphere is chill with a bar type feel. The service is pretty decent considering how busy they are, and the food is pretty good! I have had BBQ from Terry Blacks in Austin, this is definitely a close second. Driving up to the place. The parking lot was packed, always a good sign the food would be good. After viewing the extensive menu, I settled on the Pete's trio which consisted of 2 pork ribs, smoked sausage (they offer a vary of different sausages, I got the cheese and jalapeño), 1/4 lb of brisket, pickles and one side (recommend the camp beans or the parm potatoes). You order and pay, they hand you a buzzer. When the buzzer goes off you go to the kitchen window to pick up your food. The bar has just about everything you could ask for, including local wines and brews. I just went with a soft drink, my only complaint was they served Pepsi products which I am not particularly fond of, but at least they had Dew. You have to find your own table indoor and outdoor seating. But getting back to the food. Simply put, some of the best sausage and ribs I've ever had. The brisket was very tasty, but a bit more fatty than I'd like to see. Also, I did not see burnt ends on the menu, which is it my go to. The place is clean and the staff are quick to clean tables as soon as customers leave. Overall a very good experience with high quality food. Prices are reasonable to other BBQ places in the area. Great place to get some barbecue. Everything we had was really good. You got to wait in line which is usually outside the building, but they're pretty quick. You order your food pay up front and then go find a seat. Once things are ready your little buzzer goes off and you go up to the counter and get your food. They have a nice assortment of drinks. A good selection on the soda machine and a lot of sauces. And anything else you would need to eat barbecue. The inside was loud and crowded. After seeing a friend's post on FB and pics of his birthday meal here I knew we would stop one day. We had decided to make a trip from Liverpool to Watkins Glen for a hike down the Gorge trail on a beautiful sunny fall day with leaves about 60% fall colors. Smokin Pete's is on Route 14 which happens to be on that route so we stopped about 1:30 for lunch. I chose brisket dinner which comes with a slab of brisket and burnt ends corn bread pickles candied jalepenos pickled onions and two sides. Everything is homemade. The Parmesan salt potatoes were butte try and tender and cheesy oh my! The brisket was perfect smoke juicy and tender and the burnt ends were so juicy inside crispy outside flavor burst in your mouth good. We love brisket and things the best in CNY. The ribs were also tender moist flavorful and pulled easily off the bone. Seating inside and out but it does get busy. By the time we left we understood why there is a sign out front says the line forms here. I'll make that drive just for the brisket!! You order to the right just inside the door at the closest end of the bar and then wait for your tracker to beep. It is loud you won't miss it. Pick up across from middle of bar at the kitchen window. Doesn't take long very friendly staff condiments etc all next to the window and plenty of indoor seating as well as outside. My absolute favorite restaurant in the Greater Geneva area. They have a seasonal winter menu that is a bit different than their full BBQ menu, both menus are awesome, but do your research on hours and menus. There is a big bar with rotating taps. The outside is amazing for summer. I absolutely love their brisket, ribs are awesome, my husband loves the wings. All the sides are great. It is counter service with a buzzer and it can get really busy during peak summer day mealtimes, I have noted especially weekend holidays, which is great for them, not great when there is a long wait for great food with small kids. If you are just there to drink there is a separate ordering area for drinks only. I live less than 10 minutes away and always bring out of town visitors.
