    Manhatten's and the lake

For more than 30 years, Skippers Landing at 7061 Lake Bluff Rd. Wolcott New York has been pleased to provide delicious food and friendly, efficient service to our guests here at Skipper's Landing on the eastern shore of Great Sodus Bay. Manhattan's For All Being from the Gulf coast makes it so hard for me to fathom that there is a lake that is the size of an ocean. Just on the other side is a different country. I am sitting at a restaurant having a drink with my fish and french fries, and it is hard to imagine that this is a lake. It feels like the Ocean; the seagulls tell me that it is an ocean and the endless view of water confirms it is an ocean. I think I will have a few more Manhattans and try to understand this alien life.

We live this place. The food is always delicious and the service is exceptional. I just wish it was a little closer to our house. We sat outside on the deck on a beautiful evening. It was a very relaxing dinner with family

Bacon wrapped scallops, garden salad and a glass of wine. Simply perfection on the calmest September evening on Sodus Bay. Totally relaxing, friendly service. Credit card charge 4%.

Just want you need after a boat ride or a long hike. I visited with family on a sunny weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Skippers landing is definitely not a vibey modern restaurant - but that's not what you're looking for here. It's a homegrown, good food, great people type of place. The inside is older and bathroom is small but what it lacks on the inside, it makes up for on the outside. We sat right by the water on a sunny breezy June afternoon - gorgeous views of the water and a cute outdoor bar just steps away. On sundays they offer both lunch and dinner menus. We opted for the more affordable lunch option and we're not disappointed. Fried fish was TENDER and crisp. The buffalo chicken sandwich was HUGE and delicious, served with tangy homemade ranch. The fries were standard, but the crispy bartered kind. Overall, excellent food and a good sense of Americana here. TO BE FAIR, I do think the prices are a little steep, but overall I can't complain.

Sevice was really bad today. Waited a long time foe everything. Never asked if we needed anything I had to ask before she ran off. Everything tasted good until main entray came to the table. Warm rice and luck warm prime rib that tasted like dirty dish water!! So groze. I had to come here for the prime rib and I am so disappointed!!! Came a long way to sit and tittle my thumbs and yes the view was nice but the zitty fly'$ are a hot turn off. The one clearing the tables offered desert and boxes but never asked How anything was. Drinks were watered down and such a disappointment I can not recommend going here after this visit. So pissed right now!!! Now I am going to ask for a manager!!!

What a great little place! We were out exploring the area and needed lunch so we stopped in here. Pretty big place that has a bar, inside dining as well as an outdoor patio. We started talking to Alex at the bar and we never left. He is very personable and funny! I ordered the potato chip crusted mahi mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries..it was SO GOOD! Alex had me try a Chipotle ranch sauce that was fabulous! He makes great drinks too! I had a few Blueberry vodka Collins that were refreshing We will definitely pop in the next time we are in the area!

Mahi sandwich and the fish fry with an awesome view!

Ask for the fresh perch fillets. They are not on the menu and are breaded and deep fried deliciousness.

I have never dealt with anything like that before it was just a complete mess in there.. with that being said the service was great. Our server was absolutely on top of all of that mess and dealt with it I think really good!! We got our food in a timely manner! And it was actually really good food the fish was amazing and was cooked perfectly! I think the fries definitely need a lot of work, cmon French fries! Especially in upstate where the fish fries are good! You need good fries The inside ambience was kind of usual upstate new work wood work cute interior it was cute inside! What made my review stars go up is the bartender Claire that worked upstairs, she was so on top everything regardless of how busy it was, she literally had it down to a T she was quick and personable and just got the job done right by far the best employee I came across there she rocked and got the job done right! Amazing bartender! I think I would have left 1 star if I wasn't for Claire and her service she absolutely rocked

The lake views are beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect backdrop for a casual meal. One unique touch I loved was that they provide paper bags to cover your food when you're eating outside, a clever way to keep the seagulls from swooping down and stealing your meal! Inside, it's exactly what you'd expect from a traditional drive-in. The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept the line moving quickly. Plenty of parking with some space across the street too. Cleanish restrooms. One thing to know if you have food allergies, specifically a shellfish allergy, and they use shared fryers, so I couldn't safely order anything fried. I really appreciated their honesty and transparency. Between the friendly service, gorgeous waterfront location, and nostalgic atmosphere, Rudy's is a classic place that's easy to recommend.

"Great" is always relative to the palate using the word. After 80 years on the shore of Lake…read moreOntario, Rudy's carries a lot of lore opened by Rudy Gadziala and his wife Marie in 1946, now run by third-generation owner Jason Livesey, famous for its Texas hot sauce and the founder's old line about owning a "million dollar hot dog stand." Online reviews are all over the map, so we wanted to see for ourselves. We visited recently with our 7- and 8-year-old nephews, hoping to soak up the tradition. The reality was more transactional. The hostess took our order while sipping her own beverage likely why we were shorted an order of fries. Nice enough, but not especially professional or welcoming. The whole operation moves fast; the staff is determined and task-focused rather than friendly. You get a buzzer and wait. The interior was renovated in 2025, and it shows but not in a good way. The bright white walls and green banquettes feel sterile, more fast-casual chain than 80-year-old lakeside institution. In modernizing, they stripped out whatever nostalgia the old space had and put nothing back. Some local artwork, vintage photos, or lake history on those fresh white walls would go a long way. The food: the boys enjoyed their cheeseburgers, and the fries are genuinely good. The fish sandwich was generously sized but bland the batter had little flavor, and the tartar sauce didn't rescue it. For a place with an 80-year reputation built on fish, I expected more. The lobster mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. The tab: four drinks, two cheeseburgers with fries, lobster mac, and a fish sandwich with fries came to nearly $70 steep for a lakeside stand where fries alone run $5.25. The setting is lovely and the legacy is real. But sometimes generational ownership slips down a slick slope and making money starts to matter more than making memories.

Cute crab shack ambience, it's a hot spot so order or arrive before the dinner crowd. My first visit was a Saturday around 6 and it was crowded and not a seat to be had! All the seafood platters being served looked amazing, so I knew I was in the right spot! I was greeted as I approached the counter and was assisted with my take out and recommended popular party sack combinations. I ordered #3 which includes a lobster tail, one cluster or 1/2 lb snow crab, 1/2 lb shrimp (I recommend requesting Head Off!) a piece of corn, and 2-3 potatoes. I chose Cajun seasoning and, very hot spice. Warning you best be a very spicy hot lover, it was challenging but loved it! Delicious not as over the top as Cajun Hot! $47 and change with the added corn and potatoes. $42 and change without. Only one quarter piece of corn first order and two potatoes. Love it!
