Salty Mane is the perfect name for the Salty attitude you receive from management when they destroy your hair. Salty Mane should not be in the business to work on human hair as they should stick to horse hair as I walk out of there with a salty fried horse mane. First I want everyone to know I have reported this so called company to the Better Business Bureau. Lesson learned, ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS. They offered to have my hair corrected by the same girl and then denied my refund when I refuse to let her destroy what was left. They denied the depute, lied to the credit card company and laughed before hanging up on me. I challenge the owner to give me a call as all of the associates tell people he is not available. Blake you are the owner and you have a responsibility to address customer service issues just as you were able to receive my payment. My hair was completely damaged after going to this place. I came in for my 6 week touch up, which I didn't even need, and was asked "what are we doing today?" Can you imagine sitting in someone's chair as they're about to color your hair and they ask you "what are we doing today?" We put in the first color, it was too dark. They proceeded to "scrub" out the dark color with lighter color and I came out looking like Elsa. I asked why my stands looked so crunchy, they said this is how it looks after you color it, but that was a lie- it never looked that dry and brittle when they colored me before, EVER. After being lied to about a complimentary service, let the manager, they accidentally texted me to confirm my appointment and gave me some made up name. All in all, after paying $400+ for just color you'd think they would try to be more accommodating rather than replying back with "I don't feel comfortable touching your hair" or maybe they didn't feel comfortable for someone finally calling them out on their BS on robbing people and not making it right. You better hope they service you correctly the first time because you won't get a redo or refund if they don't. read more

Grace did a wonderful job on "blending in" my roots for a low Maintenance touch up. The only thing I would mention that wasn't 5 star: I needed to use the restroom so once I came back to get my hair under heat for the blonde highlights - the fan was on and when I was taking a seat my hair got caught and tangled. I had been following the Salty Mane on IG for many months before booking my appointment. I had an phenomenal extension stylist previously, but she doesn't do color so I decided to give Salty Mane a try. The highlights I received were beautiful, but the extension install was subpar. I have been wearing extensions for about 3 years and have never received an install with the beads on top of the weft. This method was extremely uncomfortable for me and was visible. I couldn't put my hair up at all the six weeks I had the extensions in, because it was so painful. The double beads did not allow for flexibility with hairstyles. Plus, not enough hair was installed on my head so it was obvious I was wearing extensions. If I didn't wear extensions, I would 100% recommend this salon. However, if you do wear extensions, please do research on install methods for under the hood (under the weft) before choosing a salon. Thankfully, my previous extensionist just hired a colorist so I was able to return to her for correction. However, I had to buy more hair and wasted $2,000 at the Salty Mane. See below for my response to Salty Mane's attack on my review. EDIT: I have ONE previous review on a salon where I was unhappy with MY COLOR due to miscommunication of my stylist. Also, the picture of the beads is from the install at the salon. Why would I lie about that? (Notice you don't see ANY under the weft pictures on their instagrams.) Plus, the stylist who installed my extensions does this double bead method so this clearly indicates it was her install. I did text my stylist that my head was hurting which I have now added. However, I chose not to go back to the salon because I did not want to receive the same method again. I purely wrote this review because I wanted other girls to be aware of the method being used at this salon. I have never had to ask for Invisible Bead Method or handtied to receive the beads under the weft. Handtied is the type of hair used, not the method used to attach extensions. Yes, I did unfollow the stylist because I do not agree with her extension method. It is one thing to defend your stylist and salon, but to call a previous client a liar in order to defend your salon's reputation is unprofessional. (which I have now seen you changes since I added my update) ALSO ATTACHED IS MY STATEMENTS OF $2000 PAID TO SALTY MANE. I've been seeing Laci for 3-4 years now. I have been getting highlights since I was 13 (a terrible Sun-in experience turned my brown hair orange and I needed it fixed, I would be forever blonde from then on!) I have been around the block with hair stylist, keeping each one for a few years at a time. In the south the typical hair stylist will just do a million foils and call you blonde. But my roots had the ugliest line only a few weeks out (see photo of grow out from other stylist). I found The Salty Mane on Instagram and reached out. Please don't be like me and dismiss the bad reviews here. They are 100 percent true and this place is by far the worst salon experience I have ever had and I have been getting my hair done for over 10 years. It's even worse because Catelyn, the girl who did my hair, was actually so extremely nice and informative and ultimately gave me a great experience. It was Laci, the manager, or "owner" (wouldn't believe that for a second) who completely ruined this place for me. Oh and the 16 year old girl who works the front desk who clearly has never worked a real job in her life. I went in with the intention of getting red hair which is definitely a process & Catelyn was great on informing me about that. I had dark brown hair and obviously wasn't expecting to walk out with full red hair the first time. But what I did expect was to walk out with blended hair as anyone does when getting their hair done. But what I walked out with was red roots and BRIGHT blonde hair. I mean, completely red on the top and blonde on the rest of the hair. What's even better is that I actually LOVE the blonde color (that i didn't ask for) and all I wanted to have them do was make my roots a darker brown to blend with the rest of my hair. I politely messaged Catelyn on instagram saying that I was not entirely happy with how it came out, including pictures, and she told me to "text the front desk and they'll take care of you!" Yeah, the front desk was the 16 year old with an attitude problem. Since we were getting no where over text, I decided to stop by and talk about it in person and be able to show them why I am not happy...again after the 16 year old told me "that's not considered a fix and there's nothing they can do about it." They then said "don't bother coming by, we can't do anything about it." We stopped by to try and resolve this and we were very polite and waited to talk to someone...we waited about 25 minutes while the owner hid in the back room before coming over. She approached me and my boyfriend very aggressively saying, and I kid you not, "At this point, you are considered trespassing because we told you not to show up" and then she pointed to my boyfriend and said "you can go wait in your car cause you're considered trespassing." TRESPASSING at a PUBLIC place that i just spent $500 at!!!! Trespassing meaning coming to show you a CLEAR mistake. Long story short, I talked to her for about 20 minutes while she basically laughed in my face and told me that I didn't know what I was talking about. Here I thought it would be easier to just have them fix my roots then to fix my entire hair. They basically said they can dye it all red (which i was previously told wouldn't be achievable for awhile) or they won't do anything. They wouldn't fix my bright red roots cause I "changed my mind". The only reason I "changed my mind" was because I walked out with BLONDE HAIR!! Which I NEVER asked for! But guess what, now I have it! Absolutely shocked at the way we were treated and I know there are tons of reviews like this. Please listen and read those before you decide to get your hair done here. It is clearly not just me and it definitely is a trend here. They will absolutely not do anything for you if you are unhappy and have absolutely NO customer service, or simply any human dignity. So I've seen their posts around Instagram, then I decided to follow their account and a few stylists. Over the span of a few months, I became OBSESSED. I loved every post. And most of their posts was what I was looking for with my hair. I thought it was a match made in heaven. I was super pregnant at the time so i decided to wait until shortly after my baby was born to get my hair done. I was so excited I finally recovered from birth, I decided to make it my birthday present and get my hair done there & get my dream hair. Booked an appt hoping to get closer to my bday so the hair is fresher, but also so someone could watch my baby. After texting who I assume was the front desk associate, she told me the only day I could was booked but could come in tomorrow. It was a bit earlier than expected but okay. The stylist & her assistant were sweet. Didn't talk much, but sweet. I explained to her I've been trying to aim for the hair I showed her in photos for over a year and multiple sessions with my usual stylist. I told her I thought my stylist was taking advantage of me just consistently going back and paying her & not always being satisfied with my hair. Explained she always started my balayage at my ears and I wanted it more towards my roots, but not right at the root. I'll even attach a photo of my hair before, what I asked for, and what I got. The stylist was working fast & faster than my usual stylist. I thought it was great and even reassuring my thoughts my usual stylist wasn't that good, slow, and took advantage of my money. I was thinking "maybe I could come here now for my hair" which keep in mind, I live in KENNESAW. an hour away! As she was doing my balayage, she teased my hair, which I know and understand is a technique to accomplish the look. My hair was so teased, it took an hour to brush and comb out it was so tangly. My hair does tangle easily but not THAT easily. I was told they're going to do something to help get the tangles out....I thought "oh okay...well it's fine, it'll help my hair be healthier" and was calculating the price in my head at this point. Because if you haven't noticed, their prices aren't posted anywhere () so I'm like "okay, maybe 150-200 for a balayage, and i need a cut, so like another 35-45, total should be around 185-245, that's fine!" She asks if I wanted a cut, I said yes. Maybe like one inch was trimmed off (), okay it's fine. I like my hair long but not an awkward long length so it's okay, but like an inch??? Then the assistant asks if I wanted my hair blow dried. Oh? I've always had my hair blow dried done automatically so I could see the end result. At the end of it being dried, I was asked if I wanted it curled. Now at this point I've been there for 4 and a half hours. I haven't heard any other stylist ask their clients if they wanted it dried or curled, they just....did it. So I say yes, I'd like curls. I see the end result of my hair....it looks as if there was only ten foils added to frame my face... THATS IT. it looked the exact same. I wanted to cry there on the spot. I didn't want to tell them I wasn't pleased or unhappy because I didn't want to spend any longer there or make them angry. I just bared through it disappointed and went to pay. And HOLY F*CK!!! $320?! They charged me for the treatment, didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted it, they just DID IT, something else I was NEVER told about, and then $75 FOR A TRIM AND BLOW DRY?! I got charged to BLOW DRY MY HAIR?! Are you f*cking kidding me?! At least tell me the prices as you go so I know what to expect. Especially if you cut one inch and charge me for that. I got to my parents to pick up my baby, the first thing they said?? "Wow that was so long, did you even get your hair done? It just looks washed and curled" and when I told them everything, they were upset I spent so much to look this good for my birthday and there wasn't a difference. My dad was even saying how I got ripped off!!! And of course I tipped so thats like near $400 I got ripped off. I could have gone somewhere else and gotten my hair done twice and get what I actually asked for with that money!!! So disappointed and upset because I was really excited. They didn't even ask to take pictures of their work. I am shocked. Any stylist takes photos of their work. Y'all take this review as a warning, DO NOT GO. My daughter was here to get her hair colored and she was very unhappy with the results (rightfully so) when she went back later the same day to show them and politely ask to work out a solution, she was told she was "trespassing" and the girl at front desk and owner Lacy? were so rude to her. She spent 20 minutes trying to talk to Lacy but would not offer her a refund or proper solution. I then called them and when I asked to talk to a "'manager" the rude girl at front desk said " It's her mom" and then after the phone being shuffled around (so unprofessional) Lacy came on the phone and was extremely rude to me as well. She said they were working on getting her in tomorrow (after they told her there was nothing they could do) Well, who would want to step foot in that place after being BELITTLED and treated so POORLY!? They were just downright mean!! Also, who knows if they would even fix it properly as it seems they only know how to do one recipe and that's "blonde." They do not care about their first time customers at all. Stay away from this place unless you want to be treated poorly. After they have your money, they do not care!!! Got my hair done and absolutely did not like it. Which has happened to everyone before. That's not what i'm writing the review about... I'm cannot express enough how horrible Salty Mane's customer service is. I reached out to my hair stylist directly to ask her if there is anything else I could do to get my hair the way I asked for it and even offered to pay for it. Ended up not hearing back from her, so I called into the salon. LACI, the manager and/or owner called me back and cut me off about 20 seconds in to me saying why I was calling and continued to talk over me for 10 minutes and making excuses for why I didn't get what I wanted with my hair. All the while, she has NEVER even seen me or knows what my hair looks like!! Told me megan could only do a "few foils" because my hair was so "damaged" and that megan didn't feel comfortable doing my hair. So why was I charged for a full foil when you just told me she couldn't foil my whole head? and I have absolutely zero highlights that go to my roots? About 10 minutes into her speil of defense when I finally got a word in, I told her I was calling thinking I could just schedule a time to swing by to see if anything could get done. The owner/manager failed to even offer that until I brought it up. LACI continued to laugh at me while I was talking, talk down to me, cut me off everytime I tried to speak and NEVER even asked me to come in to the salon to even SEE my hair and if there was anything they could do. And at the point, she had made it so incredibly awkward and uncomfortable for me.. there was no way I could show up after that. And I just paid $700 for it! I'm not one to write reviews, but my experience was SO awful, I would never want anyone else in the world to go through that. I ended up going to J Gold Salon in Buckhead. I HIGHLY recommend them! I had a cut and color done here and it turned out lovely. The salon is well-appointed and the staff is nice. I rebooked an appointment to come back about two months later after the holidays. I booked a cut and color appointment. During this time my hair thinning was becoming progressively worse. Not the salon's fault it was COVID and having a baby in 2020 took a toll on my hair. I scheduled a dermatology appointment a few days before my hair appointment. The dermatologist stated don't color your hair just get it cut and we will start the medication to grow your hair full again. Great I'm thinking, I'm so excited as I have felt so badly about my hair's appearance. I texted the salon out of courtesy and told them I was just going to do a cut with no color since this is what I am going through. I received a text back the next day stating sorry your stylist only does cut and color we have canceled your appointment. I was absolutely crushed. No offer to book me with someone else, no phone call. I texted back that it was disappointing and all I got was.... sorry. To be dropped like this was extremely unprofessional and showed their lack of customer service. It is fine that your stylist only does cuts with color but have the professional courtesy of rebooking me with another person. Or a phone call. So I'm only giving 3 stars because I thought that hair stylists were supposed to be trained and provide all sorts of services however my experience was different...so I wanted a plain old full highlight which when I researched this salons menu, it's does in fact say it provides this service. Well, after three visits I didn't get what I wanted. They're marketing on Instagram is actually great, the clients hair looks great, beautiful colors however you'll notice that it's mostly blonde clients wanting balyage. I'm a brunette wanting a full highlight because I prefer all over color with brighter roots; I personally hate darker roots on me. First visit was with a certain stylist who botched my hair, I had bad lines through my hair and silver ends, second visit was a fix with a different stylist and she fixed coloring but roots were still dark after $350 spent. I was told by her that what I want is probably a "root bump" which they don't do bc it's "bad" for your hair, my thought.."isn't all coloring bad for your hair"?? And my hair wasn't any more damage than the girls working there. This is the first place that I've went to get my hair done since moving to GA. I wish I had listened to the previous reviews saying not to go here but sadly I did not. I went to Sydney and was looking to touch up my blonde. Well, my hair is now completely fried and orange. I cried everyday for two weeks since it's so close to wedding and my hair looks awful. I called and told them I was unhappy with my service to which they offered to fix it. It now looks a little less burnt orange but not much better. I found Laci on IG. Laci would routinely mess up my appointments, and would only schedule time to do a toner, and no blow dry. This happened on more than three occasions. I began to get skeptical. Very poor service leading to itching, dry scalp that lead to dermatitis, and causing my hair to fall out. After 4 appointments I decided this place wasn't for me. Salty mane gives clients bands in their hair, rushes their services, have a ridiculous refund and hair extension policy (they shouldn't even be doing extensions in the first place because their k tips aren't secured and fall out not only two weeks later. Salty mane does not back their hair extension services, as they can't back them with a secure policy for the client) Salty mane gives their clients bleeders, bands and splotches in their balayage as well and are not consistent with their base colors creating bands in between previous colors as well as hair regrowth. I have been here two times, and I have had my hair done to my satisfaction but with a price, and not just money. I spent over $300 there for full highlights and blowout; the stylist put a conditioning treatment in my hair that was $50 without asking me. But, here is the kicker. I was diagnosed with Covid-19 as of this evening; i received the test results this evening, and I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. Believe me when they say they have a STRICT 24 hour cancellation policy that will charge your card automatically $100 if you do NOT cancel within 24 hours of the appointment and $200 if you are a no show. I received tests 2 hours after it would've been 24 hours. BUT since i have Covid, I thought they would be lenient. NOPE. I use the texting service to let the salon know I have Covid and that I am asymptomatic and that I was not expecting these results at all and for that reason I needed to cancel. NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR SALTY MANE SALON! The employee behind the texts treated me as if I was lying.... AND PROCEEDED TO ASK ME TO SEND PROOF OF MY COVID-19 RESULTS FROM MY HEALTHCARE PROVIDER! Insane. I sent the information after saying I wouldn't because that is PERSONAL HEALTHCARE INFORMATION but the employee said, again, that the salon would charge me if I didn't send it in to the email given to me. I sent it and I will NEVER be going back again. Not to mention that they only want influencers in their salon.
