The staff was very nice and friendly and accommodating to me and my service dog. They explained how the order of the exhibits went and it was all very interesting. You start with the history of Judaism and the artifacts are amazing. There are TVs playing throughout the exhibits with history videos and people's personal memories and there are plaques on the walls and at each exhibit explaining everything. Then you move on to the more recent history and current events and I appreciate the history of all the donated artifacts. I am not from Cleveland but they do an outstanding job of honoring the area Jewry. I thought that was great. The Holocaust part of the exhibits was not as overwhelming as most other places and I respect that quite a bit. It's something that needs to be forever remembered but many places only focus mainly on that and there is more to being a Jew than that! I spent several hours there and although I am a bit of a historian I learned quite a bit so I loved that! I can't say enough great things about this place. The parking is free, the admission rates are very reasonable, everyone is so nice and friendly, and the gift shop had a lot of great things ranging in price. The staff greeted us warmly, gave us a map after we paid our admission and told us about a docent tour that would be starting in an hour which we were welcome to join. We started off with the artifacts sections. Although they were replicas I was literally blown away by some of the pieces. Among those pieces was a replica of the statue of Moses by Michelangelo and a miniature of a beautiful ark you would find in a synagogue. We then went on the docent tour which was entitled "Israel now and then". We first saw a brief movie and then got to learn about the Jerusalem and the people of the Holy Land. This area mostly had pictures and videos telling you how Israel became an independent state. The last section we visited was the permanent exhibition. Since our tour ran overboard we couldn't stay here to take everything in. Most of it deal with the Jewish history in Cleveland and as I went through most of the exhibits I noticed quite a similarity to what the immigrants faced here to what they faced in New York. I did get to learn about the origins of the May company as well as American Greeting cards as well as the struggles they faced. This section takes about 2 hours to see everything but we just skimmed it and took in the highlights. The museum has a small store with all types of gifts and right now the focus is on Passover since we are in the middle of the holiday. We had a great visit and a great way to tour one of the many museum Cleveland has to offer. Located on Richmond Road in Beechwood it is an easy drive to I 271.

The tour itself was 2 hours, the tour guides on my date August 31, 2025: last tour of the day 2pm, were informative, interactive, and made me feel like I was in Christmas heaven. The tour in my opinion is geared toward for kids 6 and up, and everyone else after that. All of our tour guides, hilighted there areas well. If you ever find you have to reschedule your tour, the staff are more then eager to help with that. Check in through the black doors, at gift shop ; be sure to browse and take home a piece of christmas or other souvenir. Everything about the tour epic, loved it all from Santa squeeze, to Grand Ball room to room with all the toys, restoration room, the slide from Christmas Story, Lord & Taylor clock at the start of the tour, all the Christmas windows. They have really done a fantastic job of taking you through the history of Hungary including the vast number of beautiful castles, skilled porcelain factories, the culture of the people. Also pre-WWI and the break offs from Hungary that created Yugoslavia, Slovakia, Romania, Czechoslovakia and Austria in 1920. They have many artifacts including an Hungarian library. Videos, music and architecture are all covered as well. The gift shop has numerous items all from Hungary and crafts made from local Hungarians. Mary Jane & Bev were delightful to meet and are very well versed in Hungarian History. I'm so glad I visited and have Hungary on my trip list now. So much rich culture that makes you want to see it on foot!

It had less variety and square footage than the free city greenhouse, Rockefeller Gardens (stellar place!). My 8 yr old's admission was a joke because she declared it was very hot and stepped outside to the front desk and gift shop within a minute of stepping inside. Honestly, children under 10 should be free with the amount of interest holding them there. There was only 1 other separate room with some bonsais and a caged chameleon that was displayed in a way that was hard to see. In mid April, many flowers/fruits still weren't in bloom or already bloomed or I don't know. The conservatory itself only gets 3 stars in my opinion but the best part is actually the outer grounds and trails. The trails were great and we got to see all sorts of birds (blue jays, mallards, Canadian geese, woodpeckers, finches, etc.), squirrels, chipmunks, deer. The small garden area surrounding the butterfly cage was cute. We also saw the world's cutest dog there that I mistook for a rabbit--a baby French bulldog.

And I wanted to embrace the fall colors. But, I wanted a path that wouldn't be muddy. I made an impromptu decision to take my son and boyfriend to Miller Nature Preserve because I knew it would be dry inside the conservatory and from what I remembered, there were some paths along the building outside. We started inside, which is amazing on its own. We paid $2 per person to go inside and experience the warm humid climate and jungle like setting. Tropical plants are everywhere, along with some cactus and bonsai trees. It's a great place to go anytime of year, but I would imagine winter months would be very enjoyable here to warm up and see some greenery. Then we walked around outside in their garden areas, which is really pretty too. Not too much to look at this time of year as everything is transitioning to winter. We were surprised to find a gravel path that went into the woods outside of the parking lot. We didn't pay attention to the map posted at the beginning of the trail, as we assumed it would be a short path. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised and very wrong! We walked through the woods for about an hour. We didn't see anyone else on the path so it was quite magical. The trees were just starting to change and the sun would peak out from the clouds occasionally. At some point the path seemed to feel like we were on someone's private property, and we were very confused, but the garden area we came across was beautiful. All sorts of cool stones, a little pond, and millstones galore. Then we somehow ended up on the trail again, which ran next to a creek. There were benches scattered about the trail as well. I never knew these trails were back there! It was an enjoyable adventure and I hope to come back soon!

The building was designed in an Italian Renaissance-style that truly stands out at the campus. I first drove by the museum months ago and was struck by its gorgeous exterior. I intended to visit for a while and then had the perfect excuse - Picturing Paris: Monet and the Modern City exhibit. I invited my mom to enjoy the museum with me. AMBIANCE: The museum is an architectural gem - gorgeous arches, ornate ceilings, angel fountain, and spacious room housing famous art. Dare I call it the little CMA, it has so many various works of art on two floors. There are so many remarkable works I didn't expect to see in a small college town. Works by Degas, Monet, Rubens, Rodin, Cézanne, Chagall, Warhol, Renoir, Sisley, Pissaro, Modigliani, and more. Sculpture, fabrics, prints, vases, and paintings can all be found at the museum. The collection seems very eclectic and has various styles of art all intermingling. That's due to donations being received for years from multiple collectors. They might have been better organized but the collection is so impressive that it really doesn't matter. Monet exhibit occupies one of the rooms and features four paintings. I always thought that Monet only paints fancy swamps but he apparently had an era of city landscapes. The painting are so gorgeous and have his signature precise paint strokes. Must see! SERVICE: Most of the museum workers were very friendly except security. I was actually disgusted with the security guard's behavior. The security guard approached me and asked if I wanted to turn in my coat. There was no coat check indicated anywhere so it was an odd request. He then told me that my coat is all over the place and I must be careful around art. He said this in a very rude and confrontational manner, later stared me down from every corner of the museum. It was wild to say the least. I did not approach art closely, simply held my coat against me, and was in no way disruptive or loud. I respect art very much so this was uncalled for. I visited many world's museums but never had such a disturbing interaction. It was shameful and not at all welcoming. It was not even in line with any museum culture. He could have asked the same thing in a polite way without singling me out, being rude, or staring at me in a belligerent and intimidating manner. This interaction ruined my whole experience. ADMISSIONS: The museum is open to the public, professors, and students. Entrance is free of charge to all. That even applies to special exhibit like Monet. No bookings in advance, just arrive! Incredible! Donations and museum shop are available in case you're interested in supporting the museum. PARKING: Parking is available onsite. There is also plenty of parking by the square. The area is very walkable in case you're interested in doing some shopping, going to the movies, or dining nearby. The museum's ornate building and art collection are impressive. Make sure that you view the museum from the windows on the first floor for extra wow factor. While I loved the museum, I hated security's unwelcoming and targeted behavior. I'd rather visit a museum where I can enjoy art without drama. Due to this interaction, I don't plan to return.

The center is located in the Historic Warszawa District of the Slavic Village. I ventured out to the museum as part of the Take a Hike Program showcasing Polish heritage. I was really impressed with the center, it's one of the more developed cultural centers in the city. I've been to quite a few - Slovenian, Ukrainian, Finnish, and Croatian. MUSEUM: The museum occupies two floors of the center. Every room focus on a certain theme. My favorite was Folk Room. It contained a vibrant selection of dolls, costumers, eggs, and wooden eggs. It likely resonated most with me due to the closeness of my own culture. Other rooms were dedicated to famous Polish figures, and periods in time (such as wars). Various rooms have gorgeous wooden Polish eagle plates, statues, paintings, and other art forms. It's a very comprehensive overview of culture. POLISH CLUB: The Polish Club is located in the basement. There is a hall and kitchen as well as the bar. During my time the club the ladies of the club cooked delicious pierogis and noodles. My favorite was refreshing Żywiec from Southern Poland with spring water. I'm not a big beer drinker but this beer was surprisingly bright and refreshing. You can access the Polish club by purchasing the membership on their site. Various tiers are available starting from $25 per year. EVENTS: Museum volunteers shared that various events are hosted at the center. There are Halloween and Thanksgiving celebrations with Polish twist, and upcoming concert series. PARKING: Parking is available at the parking lot across the street. It's well lit and guarded. I felt pretty safe despite this being not the best area. I recommend checking out this center to learn about Polish history and also neighborhood's rich history. Check out local Polish churches and establishments while in the area. I plan to be back for Polish concerts!
