This Bahn mi sandwich was so good! The crunch was great, it had the perfect amount of toppings and even if its not traditional, it was still so yum. I've heard positive review about The Sandwich Shop, but I wasn't sure if I would ever drive to Vienna for sandwiches. I had a coupon on Uber Eats, so I used that as an opportunity to finally try it. My delivery was packaged neatly and each sandwich was massive, so half of a sandwich was more than enough for one meal. THE TURK + BRIE - 9.50 (11 on Uber Eats) +2.75 for avocado They do not skimp out on ingredients here. I could barely fit the entire height of the sandwich in my mouth. My favorite part of this sandwich was the turkey + fig jam combination, something I don't see often. I love ciabatta, too, so this was a top tier sandwich for me. The tomato added more moisture, and the avocado (though not necessary) was creamy and filling. I would recommend this sandwich! THE ITALIAN - 13.50 (14.50 on Uber Eats) A variety of different meats (according to their menu, there are five different ones) was stuffed in this sub along with provolone, lettuce, tomato, and more other toppings. The Italian dressing was nice, and overall, this was a solid Italian sandwich. It tasted delicious even the next day. I'm a sucker for Italian sandwiches, and this one is among my top 5. The meat was fresh, and the flavors still blended together. Updating my review because they have many other good sandwiches and I don't want to let the bad meat from the reuben I had a year or so ago to ruin the rest, although I do hope that I never find pieces like that again :/ Today I doordashed and I couldn't decide between the turk and brie and the young turk because I really wanted avocado but also wanted brie and fig jam. I ordered the young turk and left a note asking if it was possible for them to sub the mozz for brie and add fig jam, but said it's okay if not. The sandwich came and they did it for me! It was incredible. SO GOOD. All time new favorite sammy and I definitely recommend trying it out because the flavors all go really well together. I also saw that they had a curry chicken salad sandwich so I thought I'd try it out, it was good! Lastly, I ordered the cobb salad which I thought was a little overpriced at 15$, but it's probably less if you go in. The steak + cheese was savory and meshed well with the onions and cheese, but the citrus(?)-flavored coating on the roll made it a little less enjoyable. The BLT-A, on the other hand, was classic. DRINKS An array of refrigerated cream sodas, juices, and milk are available next to the counter. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! They messed up our order (gave us an entirely different sandwich) and gave us the extra and our original order without charge. I was looking for a place for a quick bite and the GPS came up with The Sandwich Shop. I go past on a regular basis and never knew this place was here. It's tucked away on the back side of a plaza on Church Street. I was lucky to find a parking spot a block away so I walked. The tree needs trimmed back because it covers the left half of the sign. It's a cozy place inside, layout is perfect for lunch or a quick dinner and a beer. They have beer on tap. Next time. I looked at the menu online and had already decided on a club sandwich without a tomato. I ordered and grabbed a bag of Maui Onion potato chips. I never see these chips anywhere so it was a real treat. After a few my sandwich is ready so I grab the bag and head out. For a club I expected a tall (taller) sandwich. Upon inspection and a taste it was a good choice. The bread is perfect, cheese is fresh, cold cuts are good. Definitely recommend if you like a club sandwich. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pesto and I ordered the Turkey and Brie. The bread was warm and had the nice crust, and boy were these filling! The Turk and Brie was super tasty, but it was a lot of arugula inside. I would have removed maybe about 20% of the arugula for it to be optimal for me. The service was quick as well, I ordered online for a super fast pickup and there was a pick up table for easy access. There's a good amount of staff ready to help as well. This is a great sandwich place in the DMV area, and I have been here many times. This time around, I got the banh mi sandwich, and it is so good. The pickled vegetables are great, and pair nicely with the pork. The bread that they use is also very good, and has great texture. The sandwich is very tasty and is a good amount of food for its price. The only complaint I have is that sometimes there isn't enough sauce in the sandwich. I don't even like sandwiches...but this little family-owned business is currently my hyperfixation meal because everything is so delicious, so unique, and so high quality. Who needs an Ambien when you can dig into a cheesy, toasty, chicken parm sandwich and a side of cheesy, bacon, tater tots? I promise you, you will have the best post lunch nap of your life. I recently branched out to try a new item -- their roast pork, provolone, and broccolini sandwich and I have to say it's just as good, if not better as the famous Dinic sandwich in Philly! My husband is also a huge fan of their Cubano and Korean bbq handheld as well. Kids love the cheesy bacon tater tots and can probably eat it as a meal on their own. Got takeout here with some friends. Overall, thought it was a decent sandwich. Bread was a little dense and dry, but the actual meat was pretty tasty. Tater tots were pretty standard, which is to say, yummy, but nothing out of the ordinary. Not pictured, but we also got fries and cheese curds to share. Both were really good. Hmmm...yeah, this is a tough one. I am a big sandwich/sub fan and this goes back to my days in NYC where the local deli made money heros so I try to hit up as many sub/sandwich shops as I can. The Sandwich Shop gets awesome reviews and when you go there you see a legit looking sub shop with chips, sodas, and tons of satsified looking customers with rows of paper bags for take out orders. Must be great right? As much as I'd like to say "hell yeah" I just can't do it. It isn't bad by any stretch but the sandwiches are just OK IMHO. And this isn't after one visit...I've been there probably half dozen times since they opened b/c of the great reviewd and positive vibe but each time I go I leave a little disappointed. Which sandwiches you ask? That goes for the Roasted Pork and Broccollini, the Chicken Parm, the Cubano and others. They are just okay but I've had way better at other places. In addition, I can't get over that they serve Boars Head turkey, ham, etc. I have to say that the best sandwich shops I've been to bake their own turkey, ham, roast beef, etc. That makes a huge difference...especially since I can go down to Giant and buy my own Boars Head meat there. Anyway, I will give them a solid 3.5 but can't get to 4 stars. I'd say Nozzo Pazzo down the street is a better bet comparatively speaking.
