    Almond Ricotta Pancakes
    Sean R.

Maple Avenue Restaurant in one encounter has shot straight to the top of my list as a unique and lovely food experience. It stands on its own, an intimate setting with only a few tables to be seen. The owners and staff lean into that, making you feel like you are the most important person in the room. They stayed attentive throughout and were incredibly knowledgeable of the changing menu and everything that went into each dish. An easy favorite for me was the Omelette, filled with caramelized onion, sweet corn and Gouda; my taste buds have rarely been this happy. Each bite drenched in the umami aïoli saturated my every sense with a delightfully warm and comfortable flavor. I feel as though I could write an essay about each bite of each dish, but I'll try to save you some time. The grilled peach salad was refreshing and led to me scrapping the plate for the remaining nuts and dressing. The squash nuggets rested on a garden's dill crema that could have elevated anything. The almond ricotta pancake was so sweet and fluffy and somehow sophisticated, it could serve as a dessert easily. The spicy crepe fraiche wings surprised me with their subtle heat and tangy lovely flavor. Everything was paired with these perfectly seasoned crispy potato's that soaked up the dishes flavors but could easily be shoveled down completely alone. I don't know if I should go back tomorrow, wait for the menu to change so I can try something new and wonderful, or some combination of the two.

We came here for a late brunch after a back to back workouts (hot yoga + Zumba) so we needed very good nourishing brunch food with some mimosa. This restaurant is tiny but mighty in food in quality, the craftsmanship and service. We were blown away by their pre fix brunch menu for $26. We got two courses each and couldn't have been more satisfied. The eggs were soft and fluffy and tasted like truffles. Fried green tomatoes were masterful. We can't wait to come back and try the dinner prefixe menu.

First time to be here for our date night. Foods were amazing including the dessert doughnuts. We had the french pressed coffee. We enjoyed every single dishes here!!

This was one of my favorite dining experiences I've had in a while. I did the brunch menu and literally the potatoes were the best I ever had, super crispy. The service was great and I really felt welcomed by the owners. My friend and I are excited to come back to try their dinner menu.

It's been a few years since we've back, and I regret not going back sooner. Unassuming on the outside, very simple, almost sparse, but the food hits way above it's humble appearances. Vibrant seasonal cocktails, short but very well priced tasty wines by the bottle or glass, and excellent service. 4 course fixed price with 2 to 3 options per course. Root vegetable cake, mushroom risotto, wonderful salmon or pork steak confit with a very interesting caponata. Had to look that item up on the internet. The quality of the food punches way above their prices. Grabbing a weeknight meal before a concert, or something special on a higher budget? Definitely a top spot.

Amazing restaurant that is tucked away in a nondescript building right off of the main drag in Vienna. Have just 7-8 tables in a small room, and only offer a rotating 4-course 60$ tasting menu with 1-2 choices per course, but literally everything I had here (including my cocktail) was amazing + the server was very friendly as well. The portions were all small, but after 4 of them I was pretty satisfied. Everything was plated very beautifully as well. Although the food menu is limited they do have a solid drink selection.

My grandmother and I visited Maple Ave last night and had an absolutely delicious meal. What looks like an unassuming place is truly producing some incredible food. The service was also wonderful and accommodating. Ricardo helped my grandmother inside (she is 94 with a walker) while I parked the car and they even turned the lights up so she could read the menu better. We visited on Sunday at 5pm and had the whole restaurant to ourselves until a couple showed up at 6pm. We started with the beet soup, which was not only welcome on such a cold night, but full of so much flavor. I've never had beet soup and was a little wary of it but it was so good. We then had the mushroom risotto, which was definitely the star of the meal and was warm, chewy and aromatic. The squash paired with the crispy mushrooms was the ultimate flavor combo. We then had the pork, which was so tender. This was the least favorite of the dishes but was still very good and my grandmother ate every bite! We finished the meal with the chocolate bread pudding which was the perfect bite to end the meal, not too sweet, but enough to change the palette and feel like the meal was complete. A true hidden gem!

Enjoyed a really great brunch experience at Maple Ave. I loved the simplicity of the dining area, the set menu and the customer service. Everything we ate and drank was amazing!! I ordered the Maple and I had to slow myself down because it tasted so good. The Beer-mosa we were skeptical of, but it was delish. And oh my goodness...the potatoes!!! I will definitely come back when in the area.

I tell everyone about this spot because it's so unique, delicious, and there's always something new on the menu. This is my second time coming now - first was for dinner and finally checked out brunch. The server is extremely sweet, passionate about the food, and really is the reason why we came for brunch - per his recommendation! Oh and let me say, this is a no frills place, which I love because the chef really puts her attention on the menu and what she's cooking. We came for an anniversary brunch and it was amazing! My husband got the beef empanada which was so flavorful! The crepe was delicious! Too sweet to start the meal? Not at all. The dulce de leche, jam, and custard was the perfect combo. I could eat another one I ordered the pot roast sandwich and ended up switching with my husband. He liked how heavy and hearty is was. Lots of flavors and juices! I guess i love the simplicity of the truffled eggs, so good! The potatoes and bacon were just the perfect amount of crispy. Of course we ordered the donut holes too and thank god because woah!!!! Soft center on the inside, crispy outside, add the ice cream....we were fighting over them! Can't wait to come again and try a whole new menu!

This place is really special. Each dish felt like it was made for the first time just for us. Ricardo was delightful and his wife Justé is an absolutely incredible chef. The two have created an environment both lively and intimate. They made our anniversary one to remember. We can't wait to come back and try brunch very soon.

Went there for Father's Day dinner. It was a fantastic experience. We made reservation online thru Resy which has asked us our diet restrictions. Usually other restaurants missed our special needs and asked again when we order food in the restaurant. I was surprised our server in Maple Ave noticed that and double confirmed with us. He is very attentive and very professional. We were well notified which dish we should be avoided. The presentation of each dish were so beautiful and adjusted to meet our dietry needed. Although I saw some reviews about the price, it is worth because we can tell the chef is really care the customers' needs. Every single dish is very delicious. I personally like the dessert the most. The restaurant is very small, so strongly recommended to make reservations.

Food was great but the ambiance was so unsettling, that I would not go back. There's old carpet, terrible hard chairs, blank gray walls. The whole setting was very unappealing and didn't look clean. Food was great though! The courses came at a great pace. Our favorites were the mushroom risotto and fresh seasonal salad. The salmon dish was a little disappointing, it was the tiniest sliver of salmon!

I LOVE this place! It's quaintness is a plus for me. There are no huge lines, no big crowds, but the coziness is only one reason to visit. The most important reason to visit is that the food is fantastic. In all my years of visiting, I have never had a single dish that wasn't delicious. I would love to be able to make that delicious pistachio salad at home!

    What is a tapas?

Tapas are usually smaller dishes. The idea is that you would order several different dishes for the table to share.

The organizer had booked the brunch about a week in advance and had coordinated with the restaurant to pay a large group deposit. The reservation was for 1:30 PM, but our table was not ready until 2 PM. When we were finally seated, the table was only set for 20 people. We were in the upstairs room with another large group, so there was no space to really add two more chairs to our table. We had to crowd into the table to accommodate the last two people. Even though the brunch is bottomless with a menu to choose from, the servers decided to just bring random items from the brunch menu to the table. Honestly, some of the worst food I have ever seen. The vegetable vitamin salad looked like slop, as did the rice/salad dish, which I'm not even sure what it was called. We were also brought a trio of three dips as well as pita and cornbread. The dips were very bland, the cornbread was dry and flavorless. As I did not like any of the items that the servers selected, I begin requesting other salads/appetizers off of the menu. I requested the Greek/Mediterranean salad and the pickles, both were very underwhelming. As far as the brunch foods, the menu was literally all over the place. Even though this is a Balkan-inspired restaurant, there were items such as fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and shrimp and grits on the menu, which don't actually make sense in light of what Balkan cuisine is. The best thing I ate was grilled steak, which was on a platter with eggs, bacon, sausage, and potatoes. There were two Belgian dessert waffles as well which were underwhelming. The only decent thing about the entire experience is that our servers kept the mimosas flowing. Each person in our party paid $75 inclusive of tax and tip-- 100% NOT worth it.

The Tuna Tartare was cut into pretty large cubes though - I do wish it was slightly smaller but the flavor was really good. I really enjoyed the Short Rib Ravioli and my friend said she also enjoyed the Baby Spinach Salad. Our ravioli was delicious but my friend did indicate this his was slightly undercooked and the ravioli was a little tough. I ordered the Seafood Cioppino. While I did expect bread to use for the Saffron Broth, I ordered it on the side for an upcharge. I wish it was a little more toasted and warm. The Seafood Cioppino itself was pretty good but not sure if I would order again as it wasn't very filling by itself. I also ordered a side of the Spinach & Oyster Mushrooms in Garlic Butter. It didn't have too much of a garlic flavor and just tasted like sauteed Spinach and Mushrooms. Overall, things were good and as it got busier, service did have some lags. I liked the warm ambience of the restaurant and would consider coming back trying some of the other items on the menu.

As soon as we entered, General Manager Sam welcomed us like old friends. After we were seated, my wife asked if he had previously worked at The Dabney, and sure enough, that's where we recognized him from. It was great catching up as he shared what he'd been doing since then and how his dream had always been to open his own restaurant. Seeing that dream come to life made the evening feel even more special. The restaurant was busy (definitely make reservations), but we were able to enjoy cocktails while we waited for our table. My Grey Goose martini with bleu cheese olives was phenomenal and set the tone for the rest of the meal. We started with the Bison Tartare and the Ceviche. The bison tartare was leaner than traditional beef tartare, and the crispy chips added the perfect savory crunch. The ceviche was incredibly fresh and bright. For our entrées, I had the ribeye while my wife ordered the Dory. The ribeye was cooked perfectly--juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. My wife couldn't stop talking about how buttery and delicious the fish was. To finish the evening, we ordered the 100-Year Port Flight featuring 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40-year ports. Vertical tastings are such a fun way to experience how a wine evolves over time. The 40-year was absolutely outstanding, and the 20-year was another favorite. The 10-year was enjoyable but still showed its youthful character compared to the older vintages. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between upscale and relaxed. The main dining room can feel a little tight when the restaurant is full, while the bar area has a few TVs for anyone wanting to catch a game. One thoughtful touch that stood out was the women's restroom being stocked with amenities like hair ties and hair clips. We noticed they also offer a tasting menu, and after this experience, that's already on our list for our next visit. Between the outstanding hospitality, exceptional food, excellent cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Evelyn Rose absolutely earned five stars.
