When I first moved in, I was initially very impressed with the apartments, but issues began almost immediately. The ceiling paint was cracking as if there had been a leak -- maintenance simply covered it up with more paint instead of addressing the source. The bathroom caulking was old, dirty, and peeling, causing the shower shelf to fall. Maintenance took a while to respond, and when they did, the repair was sloppy and temporary. After multiple visits, tiles started coming off, and eventually, mold was discovered behind the wall. Another ongoing issue is pest control -- no matter how often you clean, roaches continue to appear. The overall environment has also been disappointing. I was looking for a quiet and safe community, but there have been several concerning incidents, including police visits and loud disturbances. Some neighbors are inconsiderate: smoking near windows so the smell drifts indoors, making inappropriate comments, and neglecting to clean up after their pets, which leaves unpleasant odors around the property. Finally, the walls are incredibly thin -- you can hear nearly everything from neighboring units, even simple daily routines. In summary, this property has potential but serious maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues that make it difficult to recommend. Take your time to explore other options before committing.

Running across the counter while I'm trying to cook, across the wall while I'm getting ready for work, in the dishwasher, all over the fridge, the bathroom, everywhere. I contacted the office several times, I asked about a time frame for pest control so I could make arrangements for my dog while I was at work. After numerous back and forth emails, that made no progress, I got a call today, got pest control scheduled for next week when I could make arrangements for my dog (he specified 2 hours after spray before it was safe), I very clearly and several times said NO ONE is to enter my unit to spray today because MY DOG WAS HOME. We hang up and it seems like we were on the same page finally. Then I come home to find a note from pest control saying they SPRAYED my unit. I go back to check my camera, they entered my unit BEFORE the office even called me to discuss the plan. My dog was home all day. My dog walker entered the unit not long after and mentioned he was low energy and seemed off. I'm LIVID.

He provided me with a very descriptive list of things I should get done before moving in (such as paying the application fee online, getting renters insurance etc) which I followed to the "T" and got it all done. He always assured me which parts were done and what was missing to complete my application. Even up to the move in date, he explained lots of other things and gave me some pamphlets to read and keep myself informed about trash pick up, pets, etc. I actually asked Andre (the assistant manager) how long Angel had been working there because he seemed so great and professional that I assumed he had been working here for a while. Shocked it was only 3 weeks. You def have an amazing employee with Angel. Also wanted to give Javier (one of the maintenance crew) a shoutout since he helped me with some stuff in the car and put it in my apartment. Super nice of him to help out. My apartment wasn't clean properly before I moved in. Bathroom window had black mold. I had to call their Corporate Offices in Texas several times to make sure that I got my appliances replaced and that my trash wouldn't be skipped. The staff are very friendly and attentive to resident needs. Stephanie and Natalie are the absolute BEST. If I'm being honest, their "service with a smile" attitude and quick/friendly response to things made the decision VERY easy to come back here. It makes all the difference in the world when you have staff that are helpful, supportive, and tackle things with such an amazing attitude.

Fishermans village has been around for many years, I believe since the 80's or 90's! Obviously lots of changes have been made since then, but some things have remained the same, which has been okay being that the awesome maintenance staff maintains things. Maximo works so hard, and I've befriended him since he's been working here. He's always ready to fix anything that's broken or help me with anything i need! The main. staff is very quick to fulfill your request, which is what I appreciate since some of the appliances are older and can easily break. In general things happen, and this place is quick on their feet! Fishermans village has lots of cute ducks that hang around, it's almost like they claim this to be there home too! Hehe. I've grown to love them. Kids, grandparents, young women like myself, teenagers, you name it live here and its almost always very quiet and secluded from the main road (semeron blvd). There is never really any crime with in my neighborhood, and the past three years I have experienced none. Fishermans village offers a swimming pool that has gas grills, playground with picnic tables under a pavilion along side coal grills, a gym, laundry room, a lake to walk around, as well as a dog park! The laundry room and gym require a key card to get into, which is nice for safety reasons. Fishermans village is fairly large. There are several different section of buildings(different colors)within the community, but the sidewalks and grass areas can lead you all over the community. The mailboxes are located in the front of the main office, which is easily accessible. Mostly everything is always kept very clean, and sometimes we will have neighbors that put trash on the ground, but Maintenance comes around and picks it up. There's also dog waste containers all around the neighborhood, which I like. The grass is usually kept pretty good through the weeks! I wish fisherman's would update their plants and bushes around the apartments, but maybe in due time they will! The community is very shaded which I love, and whats nice is, not every unit has a door right next to them. There is a divide and your own little space by your front door. Most of the apartments have been some what upgraded over the years! I love how large my bathroom is and the fact that I have my laundry room inside my bathroom. I also have a spacious porch with a storage unit outside. On the inside, I have carpet in my room and living room, dark brown hard wood(laminate) with brown cabinets in the kitchen, as well as a newer fridge/ dishwasher. My washer and dryer is on the old side, but it works perfectly fine! My ac is probably the oldest of them all, but when I have an issue, the main staff is quick to solve it! Every apartment complex will have its up and downs, when you have an awesome staff, that is what makes it that much better. Online they offer you to be able to access your maintenance requests, access to contact the office staff and a way to pay your bills online. We have gone through a couple different managing staff since I've moved in, but the current one working in the offices I believe are doing a great job. Suheily Samó and Dustin have been a great help to me over the past few months! I'm able to get a couple things replaced that need to be, as I am staying another year. I was very happy with that! Suheily has great customer service & always so kind to me. She's a great aspect here at fisherman's! Prices have raised a little in areas I haven't personally liked, like rent. It has raised a little more than I hoped, but it's still within a good range;but all rent must go up at some point no matter where you are. One of the add ins is trash valet, which has actually been much easier to use rather than walking to a huge trash dumpster. The new staff plans cool events at the main office & keeps the community in the loop with closed days and other events going on. I personally like that they give back to the community and plan events for all ages. They want to be involved and meet us, and I think that's sweet! The pest control is always available to request as well as an emergency maintenance line, you just call the main line at the office & it will direct you. I recommend Fishermans village to anyone looking for a new home to rent as well as a reliable staff to help you with your needs! Come on by & give it a try!
