1/2 price milkshakes on Monday's is such a great deal. My mom and I stopped in after having a great dinner across the street and we both ordered milkshakes to go for the drive home. I ordered a banana chocolate shake and she wanted the same but the employee helping her said they did not have any bananas. I was confused because I already had my shake served but didn't yet try it. Apparently, they ran out of bananas earlier that evening and the girl who made my shake just used a flavored syrup instead. Nonetheless, it was tasty so I was ok with the substitution. I think my mom would ended up with a strawberry milkshake. Didn't get to try it but it was pretty and she enjoyed it. This is a cute shop both inside and out and they have a great menu. The Scoop is great for coffee, ice cream, and so much more! I had a delicious fresh squeezed orange, pineapple, carrot juice this morning. The staff is always so friendly and it's located in the middle of downtown Tinley so you can wander around and enjoy your coffee or treat! I think this place does great because of their location, that's about it. Super mid drinks and ice cream. On more than one occasion my ice cream had some freezer burn. I really want to love this place since it's local but Its not working out unfortunately. Service has never been bad, very kind employees! Just not so great ice cream. read more

Went to The Scoop for the first time tonight and it was great! We saw that lavender was their predominant secret menu flavor for their cafe drinks, so I knew I had to go because I LOVE lavender. When we got there, we were greeted right away by a staff member. She offered to have us test some of their ice creams. I tried the strawberry cheesecake and the chocolate fudge. Both had good flavor, but the texture seemed a bit grainy. There was someone fixing what looked like a cooling system, so I figured perhaps the temp of the freezer got a bit high and the ice cream froze a little. It had that kind of texture to it. I will come back and try them a different day, because I genuinely think this is a one off. Regardless, I noticed they had soft serve on the menu; I'm a sucker for good soft serve. I'm also a sucker for lavender. So, I asked one of the staff members if I could get soft serve but with the Monin lavender syrup on top. She was happy to oblige me, and when I tasted it, I was in heaven! I can't believe I never though to do this before! It's like eating lavender ice cream! I'm obsessed. In addition to the soft serve with lavender syrup, I ordered a large lavender matcha. It came out nice and hot, so I only took a few sips before we left and it tasted good. When we both finished our ice creams (he had the Oreo in a waffle cone- which he loved), we took our drinks and left. On the way home, mine cooled enough that I could get a big gulp. The matcha flavor was indeed good, but the drink was just a tad too sweet. I'm used to my matcha without any sweetener, but I knew the lavender syrup would add some sweetness. Unfortunately, I tasted less lavender than I expected. Now, this was all realized after I left, so I only blame myself. I also didn't tell her that I don't like my drinks very sweet- especially since they have a sign that says you can choose your sweetness level. In any case, when I go in next, I will ask her not to put in the vanilla syrup, only to use the lavender for me, but also, just use less syrup than normal. My boyfriend absolutely loved, not only his ice cream, but his cappuccino. Thank you to the lovely women working there. They were all super sweet. I feel badly that they got busy when something broke that needed fixing. I worked in the service industry for 15 years, and I know how much that sucks! You ladies did a great job! read more

This place is absolutely wonderful. From the decor to the staff it is a great little spot to grab coffee, ice cream, and even Red Bull refreshers. I ordered a Valentine's Day box for my son to give his girlfriend for a Valentine's Day Present . And of course I had to get one for him as well. I love the decor that they have inside of the shop. The staff was very attentive and just wonderful to be around. I would recommend this spot to anybody that's looking to get a local coffee. While I was there, picking up the Valentine's Day boxes I also had a caramel latte and my son got a watermelon Red Bull refresher. I did like my latte unfortunately it was not as sweet as I would like it to be but that has a lot to do with preference of course. My son said that he liked his Red Bull refresher, but said that it honestly just takes it just like a Red Bull with a little flavor into it. but I love supporting small businesses and this is one that I will continue to support. read more

Husband and I went to The Scoop a couple of times now! Such a cute little spot with lots of different flavors of ice cream. I typically just get a scoop in a cup and my husband gets a waffle cone. They also have lots of different kinds of popsicles as well as milkshakes. We typically grab our ice cream and eat it by the train station across the street. read more

So I have been coming here for years. The ice cream is great but what's lacking is the customer service. It seems like teenagers don't want to work or like their job. Everytime I go in they are hiding in the back and I have to ask all the questions about new flavor or specials. One in particular I was told that my twister was 20percent off but when another girl rang me up she charged me full price. I asked her where's the 20 percent off and she clarified that I had to buy another one in order to get the special. I just shook my head and paid. So small things like that make a difference. Its sad that during the week when its slow the girls hide, or on their phones and don't give you that awesome customer service like other places I have been too. Honestly I wouldn't mind paying higher price for ice cream like Riko Loko because the ambience is upbeat and the workers there know their product, always smiling and know how to sell or upcharge their ice cream to something grater or better tasting. And this is the customer service I get during the week after work not just on the weekends. Overall, the Scoop has good ice cream but sad to see their help has lacked the enthusiasm that matches the customers who walk through their door. read more

My wife & I visited last weekend and the portions and great for the price. They had plenty of staff to help the amount of customers inside. I love that they sell books of local authors. There's seating inside and outside and we are excited to return with our daughter who needs dairy free/gluten free and they have more than one flavor for her! read more
