I wanted this place to be much better. Beer was cold, that's the positive. I'd come back for a beer at the bar but probably not food. We had salad, burger and sandwich. Fries were wimpy and cold. Appetizer came out with meals not before. Lettuce was iceburg including the core. Burger was large (half pound) but just so-so and bun too wimpy. The regulars at the bar seemed happy. Awesome hole-in-the-wall out in Valencia. Super friendly crew with a full-on family atmosphere. Half the place is a restaurant and the other half is the bar. The food is fantastic. The fish sandwich is huge and breaded just enough so there's good fish to batter ratio. I also love the Scoreboard Deluxe which is a steak sandwich with grilled onions, mushrooms, melted provolone and just the right amount of 57 sauce, all on a delicious onion bun. They have good prices on their wings, and on certain nights they have jumbo wings for $1.50 a pop. The whole menu is insanely affordable. That counts for a lot these days, especially when the food is as good as it is here. Definitely worth making a visit to Valencia. read more

When out with some friends we decided to stop here based on the more recent reviews. There are two sides to this place. A restaurant seating area and the bar area. It was a relatively quiet Monday evening and there was on Lu one table of customers in the restaurant side so we opted to sit at a table on the bar side. Very typical Steelers fan sports bar. They had a happy hour as well as food specials. The young lady that took care of us was wonderful. Great personality and very attentive. The wives chose to have chocolate martinis which were fantastic! And priced very reasonably. The food was also very reasonable and everyone enjoyed their food. The fish sandwich was huge! The only complaint was the way our second round of drinks were handled. I ordered a round to be put on my bill and it was before the end of happy hour I thought. When we got home all the drinks were not on my bill and they were charged at the higher prices. Otherwise a pleasant surprise and I would recommend stopping by for good drinks and great food. read more

Food and service are excellent - they offer a wide variety of items on the menu. They even have liver and onions and turtle soup - items not often offered on a typical menu. Ample portions. Nice find - hole in the wall bar/restaurant - feel at home atmosphere. And it's NOT a CHAIN restaurant. read more

Went for wing night as we have done many times and we were served the small pcs of wings.... Told by waitress we should have told her we wanted the "big" wings if we wanted the special and she walked away .... Assuming it was our fault and not hers. Terrible attitude to take with regular customers who will think twice about returning. Shame on us for not sending them back .... But we really thought she would come back and make it right!! Expected so much more from what I got. Place is aged and dirty. Smoke in the bar section is so thick it was unbearable just walking through to use the restroom. The tables are jammed in close together. So close that a toddler behind me at another table was pulling on my shirt. The crowd was all blue hairs. Not the scene I expected for a "sports bar/ restaurant", far from it!! I ordered two pounds of chicken wings. I am a wings NUT so I was REALLY looking forward to getting them. When I got them, they looked ok. They were on the large side as wings go. The hot BBQ sauce, was ok. A good amount of heat. The Butter/Garlic was disgusting, I expected more than a melted puddle of butter. After I got a few wings down, I noticed that I didn't get the veggies that were SUPPOSED to come with the wings (per their menu) or the Blue Cheese dressing (had to ask for it). By the time the blue cheese dressing arrived, I couldn't choke anymore of the overcooked, rubbery pieces of eraser down. I ate a total of four wings out of like 14. I hope that I never end up in this place again, if I do...it will be a liquid dinner (beer). I would recommend that you stay clear of this place. read more

We passed this place heading to a hockey tournament. Decided to come in afterwards and the food was extremely good. You can tell everything is made fresh and home made. We got the munchies appetizer, wings and some chicken wraps. The wings were crispy with home made sauce. We had great service as well. This was on a Friday afternoon just after lunch. The scoreboard is known for their fish sandwiches and dinners. Recently, during lent, people were lining up for takeout. They have a large menu and a long list of sandwiches named after local sport celebrities. I tried the broiled fish sandwich and cheese ravioli a couple weeks ago and they were both good, especially the fish. The bar area is a little dated. Service is generally good. read more

Really great service at the bar..We ordered one fish sandwich to split and they brought out 2 plates with the food already split; giving us both an ample amount of fresh-cut fries and a nice helping of fish sandwich. It's a nice local hangout with a hometown feel. The food was delicious. The coleslaw was seasoned just right. You know your in your trouble when the waitress in her mid 60's drops off your wings and immediately makes a dash away from your table like her hair was in fire and running a 40 yard dash that woild make Tyreke Hill jealous .Looked down at the plate and there was 4 tiny wings .13.95 for 4 tiny wings . 1st time here. Bar on one side and small restaurant on the other; kind of liked how they are separate. Arrived around 1pm. Only a few people in the bar area. Got a beer and a menu right away. The menu has a lot of reasonable american fare. I ordered a grilled chicken salad ($8.50) which was pretty darn good. Chicken grilled nicely and all the vegetables were crisp and fresh. My beer came in a frosty mug. Service was friendly and fast and the place was clean. If I am in the area again, I would definitely return here. OH, one of the patrons got a Ruben, it looked delicious, I was a bit jealous. read more

This is just one of those places you go to to drink and get drunk for cheap, and they happen to have somewhat OK food. There are not many choices for restaurants around my office, but this is one of them. Its not a regular place just because its not that great! Good things? Their fish sandwich is good. Its a huge portion and always good just right. They also have pretty good burgers, but both of these things are sort of fool proof foods. I'd say they are typical diner style food, quick, cheap, and probably frozen. Also they have the good golden Italian dressing, so cant go wrong there! Cons? Everything is SO outdated. Tables, floor, everything. It needs a good deep cleaning. Waitstaff are so slow. It doesn't matter if there is 1 other person in there eating, or 10, you are waiting for a while for drinks and food. This is not a place to go out of your way for. It is a cheap stop if needed for "American" style food. Stick with the fish or a burger and fries and you'll be okay! A classic case of a bar that tries the food thing and it just doesn't work out. read more

We were in town and met family for dinner - it's a place that is frequented by locals who enjoy it - we heard it they serve great fish, but I won't even know because I am NOT coming back! My uncle and aunt eat here regularly, but was put off for a long time about how dingy the place looked while driving past it on Route 8. Finally gave this place a chance last week, and I can say for the most part the food itself wasn't bad. I ordered the fish sandwich lunch --- Scoreboard's best seller --- and got mac and cheese and coleslaw. Fish sandwich was decent, mac and cheese was great, very rich and decadent, and coleslaw was kind of a letdown. They're pretty much serving you refrigerated cabbage; there was no flavor at all. I did keep in mind that this is the best seller, so who knows if the other dishes are at the same level. Service was OK, but definitely saw a couple eye rolls from our waiter at various points while ordering. Decor was dated --- so much wood paneling. Can see how this is a successful local watering hole, but not a particularly memorable dining experience. On a positive note: Apparently they just made the restaurant and bar a nonsmoking facility. That's a big plus for me, since cutting through secondhand smoke at the bar is the worst. I might come back, but probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

I've been here a few times, but mostly just to go to the bar. For those purposes, if you want a country style bar (talking no frills as opposed to honkey tonk) then its not a bad place. They get in live bands on occasions and pull a decent crowd. You can get your typical Bud and Miller Lite, but not going to have a big craft beer selection. Not the purpose here. This review is more around the restaurant. Went here on a Saturday evening, for a post game meal, but did not sit or order as a group. Each table was its own seating so to speak. The servers were friendly, but seemed overwhelmed. Not sure if Saturday dinner is not typically busy, but it seemed odd. Took forever to get menus, then to place a drink order, then receive drinks...you get the point here. Everything moved really slow. Also, several items either came out wrong, or in one case, not at all. The food, I ordered the Turkey Devonshire. I should know better, but hadn't had in awhile. This was certainly not elevated. Lunch meat turkey, crumbled bacon and cheese sauce from a can. It was ok for what it was, but would have liked a bit more. The burgers were not bad, though maybe a tad greasy. It wasn't a terrible experience, but nothing I would go out of my way to frequent again. read more

I've been here a number of times as it is a great place to get some good bar food at a low cost. I recommend coming between 5 and 7 to get cheap appetizers and save some money on their already reasonably priced drinks. That being said it's bar food plain and simple, nothing fancy here, and nothing worth going out of your way to eat at. It's nice if you are in the neighborhood though. The sandwiches are generous sized and a good value for the money you are paying. The service I have had is hit or miss, sometimes they are dramatically understaffed for the number of people in the dining area and sometimes they are not. This leads to sporadic service. I would like to note that most of the waitstaff is friendly and helpful with the exception of one waitress who seems to be continually in a mode where she hates the world. I can't help but think that she would be happier in a job that doesn't make her deal with the general public. Check the place out if you are in the neighborhood. read more

We were traveling through the area and were starving. Stumbled across this place and thank God we did! The drinks are amazing and made to perfection. (Keep in mind we know our bars and how to drink). Horrible cannot even begin describe how bad this was. The water was awful and waitress explained they are on a well and she will tell owner it is time to change filters so gave us bottled water. Just went there and the waitress waited on everyone but us. We got drinks and sat for 20 minutes. This place is kind of like the little train that could. This place is going downhill like a runaway truck. We stopped by today and walked out. They seem to always be short staffed....when we walked in today the server rolled her eyes and told us to sit anywhere. After 5-10 minutes of waiting and nobody greeting us we walked out. This will be our last time coming here. We used to come frequently but the experiences continue to get worse. We live in the area but we will pass them by in the future. It seems like the only business they really have is in their bar.....which allows smoking.......GROSS! The men's room is in the bar so if you need to use the washroom you will stink like an ashtray by the time you get back to your table. If I could give them zero stars I would.
