Walked in before the 5 min grace period, they didn't allow me in. I asked if I could still join the class, she said it had just hit the 5 min mark with all the talking she just got done doing. Blonde, and the other front desk person. Did not even bother to make eye contact, drove so far just for them to not accept me in ridiculous and not friendly or welcoming whatsoever. Review edit after experiencing the 1 week unlimited trial: This trial is truly unlimited and so worth the money. In a week's time I was able to take classes every single day - trying out both the reformer and infrared formats - and with various instructors. In addition to Gabby, Lauren and Rebecca are superb at define and form classes. For mat, I highly recommend Sophia. She made form mat challenging and fun; offered modifications, and had a great playlist. By the end I was obsessed! Great trial to take advantage of at this studio! Gabby's define reformer class was spicy & fun! It was my first time at The Sculpt Room, but I immediately felt comfortable in the aesthetic and modern studio. The music and energy were the icing on the cake! Parking was a little tough, but there are spots surrounding the plaza if you give yourself some time before class. I took the Define class with Ali. It's been awhile since I took a Pilates class so this was a nice class to ease my way back into it. Ali was a great instructor with her cues. I was worried about parking but there was plenty of street parking before the 8am class. The studio is nice, clean & cute! read more

Wow, I've never been challenged in a workout class like I have here at The Sculpt Room! I booked a Saturday 11am DEFINE Heated Mat Pilates class with Vienna through ClassPass. I've only ever taken reformer pilates classes so I didn't know what to expect coming into the class. I will say this is one of the hardest classes I've taken! Super challenging full body exercises with a lot of isometric holds and core focused moves. We used a ball and 5lb dumbbells in class. 5lbs does not seem heavy but it actually is quite heavy for all of the arm moves we did in class (I might recommend a lighter weight for beginners). Plus the heat takes it to the next level, I was sweating! I was really impressed with everyone in class who had a lot of strength and powered through the class. They played great music too to hype us up through class. They offer reformer classes as well as the heated mat. Their heated room is small-ish but had large mirrors, it can fit about 16 of us. Unfortunately there was a leak on the day of my class but the staff were really apologetic and just overall super nice. Overall, a great little studio in PB that offers such a great full body workout! read more

Got there on time but couldn't find a parking. Went inside explained my situation and because it's holiday the reception said she won't charge me for late or no show. But she still charged me full amount. Emailed them, texted them, called them, no response. Left a comment on instagram, they deleted it. What a joke. read more

I want to preface with I hardly ever leave reviews, let alone negative ones. I just unfortunately felt strongly and thought I needed to share my experience. I truly love Sculpt Room and have had an overall positive experience with the classes and instructors. The instructors are amazing--supportive, motivating, and incredibly skilled. Thanks to them, I found a genuine love for Pilates, have seen great physical results, and noticed a real improvement in my mental health. I've taken over 60 classes in the past 6 months, and the workouts themselves are absolutely the highlight of this studio. That said, I've been disappointed with how the studio is managed and how certain situations have been handled. There have been a few instances where I felt unaccommodated and undervalued as a loyal, paying member. One example was around bringing a guest. I was told by instructors that I could bring a guest, which I did multiple times, and then management later informed me that it was not included. While I understand policies, it was frustrating that the team was not aligned and that I was told conflicting information. Another issue is with membership discounts. The studio occasionally runs promotions, but current members are not allowed to use them. Given how expensive Pilates already is, it would be nice to see some form of appreciation or flexibility for loyal members who consistently pay for memberships rather than only catering to new sign-ups. Lastly, when I decided to cancel my membership due to switching studios, I emailed what I genuinely believed was ample notice. I was told my billing date was sooner than expected and that no exception could be made for giving 6 days' notice instead of 7. While I understand policies, the lack of flexibility--especially for someone who has been a consistent member--felt disappointing. Overall, I love the instructors and the classes and truly wish them nothing but success. My hope is that as a growing studio, management considers being more accommodating and customer-focused toward loyal members who invest in memberships and consistently support the business. Mediocre at best. INSANELY expensive...the most expensive in the area in fact. I took one class here and was super disappointed. This is an Instagram studio that's esthetically pleasing and cares more about the gram than the quality of instruction or interaction. The fake way with which they smile and speak to you, front desk and instructors alike is so off putting. Aside from club Pilates which is also too expensive, most other Pilates studios in the area are like 30% less expensive and have better quality people and instructors. read more

This was my first ever Pilates class, and unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. As a beginner, I spent much of the class confused, especially when using the equipment. The instructor saw me struggling multiple times but did not stop to help, even though she assisted other participants with similar issues like adjusting straps. She was aware it was my first class, which made this especially discouraging. The workout was not super clear either; this specific instructor kept holding off important details until halfway through. There was no rhythm to follow; she would just start saying 3...2...and one more... and one more... I frequently didn't know where we were in the sequence, which made it hard to stay confident in my form. I also felt out of place being the only person of color in the room, and the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. At the end of class, the instructor asked others for feedback as they left but skipped over me entirely, and ignored me when I asked a question. It was a small moment, but it added to the uncomfortable feeling. Pilates can be intimidating for first-timers, and clearer guidance and more inclusive attention would make a big difference for beginners. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The parking is ridiculous. The other restaurants around the building make fake signs saying the parking is for their restaurant but it's not it's a general parking lot for all buildings. The signs aren't San Diego city signs they are just hand painted. The instructor lets the restaurant owners yell at you about the parking lot situation. So when you go you won't be able to park or find parking. We went to talk to the instructor and she was very unprofessional, couldn't help in any way whatsoever. She wouldn't allow us to move the car and said that if we left she would be locking the doors. 0/10 I've been to many Pilates places in San Diego and this is by far the worst! read more

There was a highway closure causing it to take us 35 minutes to get from downtown to the studio on Sunday. We parked as fast as we could and were about 5 minutes behind the class start. We explained to Ali at the front (winded from sprinting to the door) what happened and she turned us away. We ended up getting marked missed from the class and had to pay a $17 fee on top of losing 9 credits from ClassPass (x2, so $34 and 18 credits between the 2 of us). Absolutely don't recommend - parking is also difficult. read more

So ultimately, I lost my payment for the class and I was charged a cancelation fee. Original review: I attempted to attend my first Pilates class at this studio through ClassPass today at 1pm. Due to an unexpected situation with my sick child, I arrived 5 minutes late to the 45-minute class. While I understand and respect the studio's late policy, I was disappointed by the lack of welcoming atmosphere for first-time clients. I wasn't asking to attend the class at that point, but rather hoped for some flexibility with the late fee, especially as a first-time client encountering an unexpected situation. The front desk staff member, receptionist with blonde hair and blue eyes, was inflexible and showed little empathy, even after explaining my situation as a parent dealing with a sick child. In fact her response to me was "I am a mother too," as if I had no excuse. The studio's atmosphere feels more focused on maintaining a certain aesthetic that caters to a specific Pacific Beach crowd, rather than prioritizing an inclusive environment focused on health and wellness. I believe great customer service includes some grace for first-time visitors, especially when circumstances are beyond their control. While the studio may offer quality Pilates instruction, the unwelcoming atmosphere and lack of basic courtesy means I will not be returning. And I cannot recommend this studio to others seeking a supportive fitness environment. It is very clean, has amazing instructors, and a really really expansive schedule that can accommodate pretty much any time i want to take class. After overexplaining the whole situation, my friend also vouching as witness, they had told me to leave the studio. The workers gave the most attitude ever.
